Sir Paul McCartney and Yoko Ono attend George Martin memorial

Sir Paul McCartney and Yoko Ono were among guests at a memorial service held for the late George Martin.
The legendary music producer – who was affectionately known as "the fifth Beatle" – passed away peacefully at home at the age of 90 in March and a whole host of celebrities paid their respects by attending a service in his memory at St Martin In The Fields church in Trafalgar Square, London, on Wednesday (11.05.16).
Paul was joined by his daughter Stella McCartney, Sir Elton John, James Bay, Alexander Armstrong and Bernard Cribbings and more than 600 mourners.
The ‘Let It Be’ hitmaker reportedly gave a eulogy in which he praised his close friend and long-time collaborator while ‘Hold Back The River’ singer James is believed to have performed, according to The Sun newspaper.
Stella – who is the daughter of Paul and his late wife Linda – took to Instagram to share a picture of herself at the service.
Alongside a photo of her covering her face with the order of service booklet, the 44-year-old fashion designer wrote: "A heartwarming service to celebrate a truly great man and his beautiful family."
Martin was later laid to rest at a private family funeral in Wiltshire, South West England.
On hearing his friend had passed away, Paul – who was joined in The Beatles by Ringo Starr and the late John Lennon and George Harrison – said at the time: "I’m so sad to hear the news of the passing of dear George Martin. I have so many wonderful memories of this great man that will be with me forever. He was a true gentleman and like a second father to me. He guided the career of The Beatles with such skill and good humour that he became a true friend to me and my family. If anyone earned the title of the fifth Beatle it was George. From the day that he gave The Beatles our first recording contract, to the last time I saw him, he was the most generous, intelligent and musical person I’ve ever had the pleasure to know."
