Sir Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman shed tear at Logan screening

Sir Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman shed a tear watching ‘Logan’.
The 76-year-old star has appeared as Professor Charles Xavier alongside Hugh – who plays Wolverine – in a string of movies and admits it was very humbling watching the final movie together.
He said: "A week ago, Friday night in Berlin, the three of us sat, watching the movie. And I was so moved by it, much more moved than I had been the first time of seeing it.
"Maybe it was the company of these two guys, but the movie ended and – this is an admission – but at one point [Hugh] reached out, and he took my hand in those last few minutes, and I saw him go like this, and then I realised I had just done the same thing. Then, the movie ended and we were going to be taken up on stage, but not until the credits were over."
And the ‘X‑Men: Days of Future Past’ star says the poignant moment made him realise that he is "done" with the character as he doesn’t feel there would be a more "beautiful way of saying au revoir" to Professor X.
Speaking to Sirius XM, he added: "So, we had some time to sit there and, as I sat there I realised there will never be a better, a more perfect, a more sensitive, emotional, and beautiful way of saying au revoir to Charles Xavier than this movie. So, I told [Hugh] that same evening, ‘I’m done too. It’s all over.’"
Meanwhile, Patrick recently admitted he felt emotional playing Professor Xavier for the final time in ‘Logan’.
Asked if he felt emotional whilst making the film, he admitted: "There were moments during production, yeah. There’s a moment in the first scene when I very tenderly take Hugh Jackman’s face in my hand and then say, ‘What a disappointment you are.’ Ha!
"I was very lucky on this film – my first scene was my opening scene in the movie, my last night’s work was my last scene."
