Simon Webbe worries the public hate him

Simon Webbe was worried the public would "hate" him after he beat Pixie Lott in the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ dance-off.

The Blue singer and his professional dance partner Kristina Rihanoff found themselves in the bottom two during the quarter-finals on Sunday night’s show (07.12.14) against the blonde pop star and her partner Trent Whiddon.

‘Strictly’ judge Craig Revel Horwood opted to save Pixie and Trent, as did Bruno Tonioli, while Darcey Bussell wanted to save Simon and Kristina.

It was then left to head judge Len Goodman, who voted for the Blue singer, meaning he was through to the semi-finals alongside Caroline Flack, Jake Wood, Frankie Bridge and Mark Wright.

Recalling his shock, Simon shared: "When I got through, I was ecstatic. It was a massive shock.

"But I’ve been reading social media and I’m a bit worried everyone’s going to hate me because a lot of people thought Pixie was a better dancer and didn’t deserve to go.

"But Len is head judge and he chose me. With his trained eye, perhaps he saw something the public didn’t. I just want to work hard and try not to let Len down."

Surprisingly, the ‘One Love’ crooner admitted he felt as though he would be eliminated before he had even hit the dancefloor.

He told The Sun newspaper: "I’d actually accepted that I was probably going home on Saturday morning.

"I told myself that the best times I’d had so far were when I let go and enjoyed it. So I did that. It helped."
