Simon Webbe thought about quitting Strictly Come Dancing

Simon Webbe has thought about quitting ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ "every day".

The Blue singer has revealed he’s found the BBC One celebrity dance contest "mentally draining" but learned he can do anything he puts his mind to after making it to the final four.

Speaking at the BBC’s New Broadcasting House in London about whether he’d ever thought of quitting, he said: "Every day. Sometimes your body gives up on you and it’s mentally draining as well but that’s when you learn something new about yourself because you just pull through and you realise that you’ll survive and there’s nothing too hard out there that can bring you down enough for you to quit."

The 36-year-old star – who has 17-year-old daughter Alanah from a previous relationship – also confessed taking part in the show has helped him to overcome the depression he suffered with after he was declared bankrupt last year.

He explained: "This experience has been a lifeline for most of us, especially myself, and when you’re down in the dumps, something comes along as long as you keep believing and Strictly has been that experience for myself."

Simon will go up against TV presenter Caroline Flack, former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Mark Wright and The Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge in tonight’s final on BBC One at 6.30pm.
