Simon Rimmer leaves Strictly Come Dancing

Simon Rimmer is the fifth celebrity to leave ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 54-year-old television presenter and his professional partner Karen Clifton were booted out of the competition on Sunday night (29.10.17) after a spooktacular dance-off against Mollie King and AJ Pritchard.
Simon and Karen took to the floor once again to perform their Viennese Waltz to ‘Delilah’ but it failed to impress the judges – Bruno Tonioli, Darcey Bussell, Craig Revel Horwood and Shirley Ballas – and they opted to save Mollie and AJ, who danced a Cha Cha to ‘Better The Devil You Know’.
Speaking about his time on the show, Simon said: "Do you know it has been the most amazing experience ever from the minute I walked in through the door. The Strictly experience is just so positive, every single person involved in it is so positive. And like, all of that lot up there, all the rest of the class of 2017, are just magnificent people. All the pro dancers are amazing.
"When I danced the Waltz to ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ and it touched people, I will never ever forget that; our Charleston last week was a giggle, it was brilliant. Every person who has come up and said hello and thank you messages has been brilliant. But the biggest thank you obviously is to Karen, who has just been amazing, who has convinced this lumbering 54-year-old bloke that I could stand-up on a Saturday night and dance in front of millions of people and she has become you know, a proper friend not just to me but to all my family and for that I can’t thank you enough."
Whilst Karen added: "A complete beginner but you know what, you’ve grown to be such a great performer and I’ve loved every second really and it’s been a privilege. And thank you for all the food!"
Craig opted to save Mollie and AJ as he felt their performance was "more technically demanding" whilst Darcey praised the pair for their "competent performance". Bruno also felt that Mollie and AJ gave a "better performance in regards to content and performance value".
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ continues next Saturday (04.11.17) where the remaining contestants will take to the dancefloor once again to battle it out for the Glitterball trophy.
