Simon Gregson bought ‘massive’ fake manhood for Corrie hot tub scene

Simon Gregson once bought a "massive" prosthetic member to use in a ‘Coronation Street’ hot tub scene.
The 45-year-old star loves to play pranks on the ITV soap’s set, and he couldn’t help himself when he saw the fake manhood for sale in a Blackpool joke shop, so he purchased the penis to surprise Joe Duttine (Tim Metcalfe) and Jimmi Harkishin (Dev Alahan) with.
He said: "Earlier this year, I was in a joke shop in Blackpool, and I saw this massive false willy that I put on for one of Steve’s scenes with Tim and Dev in the hot tub.
"I just took my dressing gown off, and there it was."
Away from the cobbles, Simon is expecting to have a "manic" Christmas because he, wife Emma, and their three sons, Alfie 12, Harry, 10, and three-year-old Henry, are all living in their in-laws’ loft at the moment.
He said: "Our Christmas is going to be manic. We’re having our house done up at the moment, so we’re living with my in-laws.
"There’s me, my wife, three kids and two dogs, and we’re all in the loft.
"It’s small. I love my in-laws and we get on like a house on fire, but it’s going to be mad."
And the cobbles favourite – who plays Steve McDonald on the ITV soap – says he spends most of the festive period trying to get into toy packaging, and travelling around to buy batteries.
He added to Inside Soap magazine: "I have three boys, so my entire Christmas is made up of at least a week of trying to get into the packaging of the presents, and then going out to buy batteries.
"And then it’s like, ‘Daddy, it’s not working,’ and, ‘Daddy, can you put this together?’
"I’m just Bob the Builder every year in my house."
