Simon Cowell’s failed health kick

Simon Cowell’s health kick isn’t going to plan.
The 58-year-old music mogul vowed to change his life after he fell down the stairs due to low blood pressure earlier this year but admits the changes aren’t going to plan.
He told The Sun newspaper: "I knocked myself out, and when I woke up, I thought, ‘Is this heaven?’ Then after I realised it wasn’t, I thought I had broken my neck because the medics wouldn’t let me move. I was thinking, ‘Christ almighty’. You don’t know what’s wrong, and neither do they, so it is scary. But I had every test under the sun and all they could find was low blood pressure.
"It has still been a wake-up call though. Up to that point, I was working flat out. Now I’ve quietened down a bit and I’m sleeping better. I’m not going to lie though – whenever I’m seen out it’s with a cigarette and a beer in my hand. So I think I’ve been rumbled as far as that goes."
Meanwhile, Simon previously revealed he wanted to change his life so he can be a responsible father for Eric.
He said recently: "Sometimes we get a reminder that we’re not invincible and this was certainly mine. It was a huge shock. They think I fainted because I had low blood pressure and so I have got to really take good care of myself to sort that out. After all I am a dad and have more responsibility than ever."
Explaining how it happened, he added: "I’d gone to get some hot milk because I felt ropey. On the way back upstairs, I just remember feeling really dizzy. Next thing I know someone was putting a neck brace on me and I had a terrible headache, which must have been from me hitting the stairs. I was worried at first that I’d done some real damage. But I’m on the mend now. I know I was very lucky I didn’t hurt myself seriously. It could have been a lot worse. I must say, everyone at the hospital were incredible. I’m truly grateful."
