Simon Cowell to launch a music show to rival Strictly Come Dancing

Simon Cowell is planning to launch a new music show to rival ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 58-year-old mogul has revealed he is already busily working on a new programme in a bid to knock the BBC dancing show off its perch.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, Simon shared: "Watch this space. We’ve got a new show soon. I can’t say more but it’s still music.
"You’ll like the one we’re making. You’ll have to wait but you will see more about it soon. We make lots of shows but this is a music show."
During his TV career, Simon has masterminded the success of programmes such as ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and ‘The X Factor’.
But in recent times, ‘Strictly’ has emerged as the dominant show, with ‘X Factor’s viewing numbers falling to 4.3 million.
Meanwhile, Simon previously admitted to losing his "mojo" back in 2016 following the death of his mother Julie Brett, who passed away in July 2015.
The TV star admitted his mother’s passing affected his on-screen performances, and he also conceded the show went through a lull.
Speaking last year, Simon explained: "I found it difficult when something is really affecting your life and you are on a talent show and you are trying to be up and happy.
"I didn’t feel myself and it really took me a year to come out of it. We have all been there. And I am not saying I am the only person it’s ever happened to but it hit me hard.
"Now I have had some time and rest and I think I have got my mojo back again.
"I can remember three years ago with ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and I thought the show had lost its zing a little bit and we all got it back together.
"That happens on a long-running show. You are not always going to have your best year."
