Simon Cowell considered transferring Britain’s Got Talent judges to The X Factor

Simon Cowell considered transferring the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judges to ‘The X Factor’ last year – but jilted the idea out of fear his fellow panellists would let it go to their heads.
The 56-year-old music mogul has admitted he contemplated bringing Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon to join him on the singing talent show but was worried the big gig would boost their egos too much.
Speaking to The Radio Times Online, he said: "I’ve got to admit it – I think the four of us on the panel is about as good as we’re ever going to get. We actually even considered transferring them all on to ‘The X Factor’ at one point. Their egos, if I ever suggested it, would be unbearable!"
But the music mogul believes the ‘BGT’ critiquing panel share a special chemistry, which was lacking in the recent series of ‘The X Factor’ and, consequently, led to the departure of BBC Radio One DJ Nick Grimshaw and co-hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack after just one term.
Speaking about the shows depleted views and recent upheaval, Simon said: "There have been times with ‘The X Factor’ – now that I’ve had the chance to rethink what happened last year and the years before – where we had that chemistry and lost it by trying to change too much."
Meanwhile, ‘The X Factor’ is set to come full circle this year with the return of the former host, Dermot O’Leary, who was dropped last year after eight years on the show, and the rumoured return of former judge Louis Walsh.
However, Simon does no doubt fear for the future of the show after Cheryl Fernandez-Versisni – who judged on the programme from 2008 until 2010 before returning in 2014 – announced this morning (05.04.16) that she’s bowing out.
