Simon Cowell has congratulated One Direction on their BRIT Award wins.
The ‘Little Things’ hitmakers picked up the Global Success Award for the second year in a row, as well as the Best Video prize for ‘Best Song Ever’ at last night’s (19.02.14) ceremony, and their ‘X Factor’ mentor – who signed the act to his label Syco following their stint on the show – couldn’t be happier about their success.
He wrote: "Congratulations One D! Global success of the year. So happy for you."
Simon – who became a father for the first time, to son Eric, earlier this month – went on to thank the group’s loyal fans for their support.
He added: "A huge thank you to everyone who helped them achieve this. The greatest fans.
"Thank you everyone for voting for best video. It is a brilliant video. Congrats to the boys and Ben who made it."
The group – which comprises Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne – also used social media to thank their fans before heading to the Sony afterparty, where they celebrated with BRITs host James Cordon.
Harry Styles wrote: "Thank you to everyone who voted.. Brits are ace."
Niall Horan couldn’t contain his excitement as he thanked his supporters, writing: "Thank you for all the votes! U guys are incredible ! #BRITs2014 #BRITsOneDirection. (sic)
