Simon Cowell congratulates One Direction


Simon Cowell has congratulated One Direction on their BRIT Award wins.

The ‘Little Things’ hitmakers picked up the Global Success Award for the second year in a row, as well as the Best Video prize for ‘Best Song Ever’ at last night’s (19.02.14) ceremony, and their ‘X Factor’ mentor – who signed the act to his label Syco following their stint on the show – couldn’t be happier about their success.

He wrote: "Congratulations One D! Global success of the year. So happy for you."

Simon – who became a father for the first time, to son Eric, earlier this month – went on to thank the group’s loyal fans for their support.

He added: "A huge thank you to everyone who helped them achieve this. The greatest fans.

"Thank you everyone for voting for best video. It is a brilliant video. Congrats to the boys and Ben who made it."

The group – which comprises Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne – also used social media to thank their fans before heading to the Sony afterparty, where they celebrated with BRITs host James Cordon.

Harry Styles wrote: "Thank you to everyone who voted.. Brits are ace."

Niall Horan couldn’t contain his excitement as he thanked his supporters, writing: "Thank you for all the votes! U guys are incredible ! #BRITs2014 #BRITsOneDirection. (sic)

"What a night! You guys are f****n’ incredible ! love you so much! (sic)"
