Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman feared for son during raid

Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman were ordered to remain in their bedroom and leave their son on his own during the raid on their mansion two years ago.
The 57-year-old music mogul and his partner feared for three-year-old Eric as their security guard, Simon Williams, warned that an intruder was inside their home on December 4, 2015, and that they should not go and check on him.
A court heard that 24-year-old Darren February left the property with a million pounds worth of jewellery, but was caught out as he dropped his glove just outside the property.
The ‘X Factor’ boss said that he and Lauren, 39, were tucked up in bed by 12.30am and Eric and his nanny were already fast asleep.
According to The Sun newspaper, Simon told the court: "The next thing I remember is being awoken by Simon who said we had been robbed.
"He said we should stay in the bedroom. We asked about our son and were very concerned about making sure he was alright."
Simon and Lauren were relieved to finally be able to see their son when police arrived.
Mr. February managed to break into the couple’s Holland Park home in West London after jumping over the walls and managed to get his hands on their goods after Lauren reportedly left the safe open.
Their guard Simon was unable to do anything as Mr. February had fled the property.
The thief has denied burglary and the trial continues at Isleworth crown court.
Simon previously admitted he feared for Eric’s safety on the night of the theft.
At the time, he said: "It was nerve-racking. Lauren was woken up with me and we checked on Eric. That was the first thing we did, to make sure he was OK.
"Apart from the fact someone broke into my house and stole my stuff, which is scary, it could have been worse. Thankfully no one was hurt. But we have the worst guard dogs in the world."
Despite losing valuable items, Simon insisted that his first priority was the safety of his family.
He said: "It’s not what they stole, it’s the fact they got into the house. That was the frightening thing, the idea someone was in my house."
