Roger Moore boycotts Dubai Fortnum and Mason store

Sir Roger Moore is urging shoppers to boycott the opening of a Fortnum & Mason store in Dubai.
The 86-year-old actor - famed for portraying James Bond in seven movies - has warned shoppers in the region against the prestigious department store, which is widely slammed by animal rights groups for selling foie gras in the UK.
The expensive pate sees birds force-fed grain multiple times a day until their liver swells up to 10 times its normal size. Although foie gras production is banned in the UK, Fortnum and Mason commonly import the products from French farmers to be sold in its Piccadilly store.
Moore said: "Fortnum & Mason is widely condemned and boycotted in Britain as one of the last department stores that still sells foie gras - a product so cruel that it is illegal to produce both there and in more than a dozen other countries.
"I invite compassionate Dubai shoppers to join us in calling on Fortnum & Mason to end its involvement in the barbaric force-feeding of birds for foie gras."
Moore's comments come after new footage, as part of an investigation by PETA, revealed the cruel conditions on the farms where geese not only suffer breathing difficulties as a result of their distended livers, but are killed without being stunned first which is contrary to French and British animal welfare laws.
Sir Roger is one of many prominent British figures - including Dame Vera Lynn, Twiggy, Ricky Gervais, Joanna Lumley and Kate Winslet - who have supported PETA's campaign against foie gras.

Dakota Johnson: Anastasia is boring

Dakota Johnson insists her 'Fifty Shades of Grey' character is "kind of boring".
The 24-year-old actress is currently filming the big screen adaptation of E.L. James' erotic novel and despite the raunchy subject matter, she thinks her character Anastasia Steele - who gets entangled in an S&M relationship with kinky businessman Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) is quite dull.
She said: "A lot of getting into the character's head, in Ana's headspace before she meets Christian, so it's a lot of reading, which I love. She's an English major, so that's kinda boring."
Dakota - the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith - admits she had some "fears" about working on the movie, but is enjoying the experience very much.
Speaking to the March edition of Vanity Fair magazine, she said: "It's been a very smooth and fun and creative experience. I think going into something like this, you kind of have fears of what it could be like and none of those fears are happening. We all get along really well and the crew's amazing. We're just all trying to make this project the best it can be."

Boy George identifies with Justin Bieber

Boy George can relate to Justin Bieber.
The 52-year-old singer can understand why the 'Believe' hitmaker - whose recent antics have included being arrested for driving under the influence (DUI), driving with a suspended license and resisting arrest, allegedly being abusive to flight staff who asked him to stop smoking marijuana and being investigated over an egg attack on a neighbour's house - has apparently gone off the rails because he is in a position where he doesn't feel he has to listen to anyone.
George - who has previously battled drug addiction but has been sober for six years - said: "I can definitely identify with it completely and I can also identify with the fact that if you said anything to him, he'd laugh at you. Because I would have.
"If you said to me [at the height of my fame], 'You know what? You're messing this up.' I wouldn't have listened because you don't listen when you're that age... you don't and that's a shame because I could've saved myself a lot of drama. A lot of money as well."
However, George thinks things are worse for today's young stars because of the rise in social media and is grateful he didn't have to grow up in the digital age.
He added in an interview with 'Access Hollywood': "I am really grateful that I kind of did a lot of growing up out of the spotlight because there [are] enough things on the internet that I hate.
"There are enough ugly pictures of me out there, so having anymore would be really depressing."

Mariah Carey slams Nicki Minaj

Mariah Carey has slammed Nicki Minaj.
The 43-year-old singer - who repeatedly clashed with the 'Starships' hitmaker when they were both judges on 'American Idol' last year - insisted she wants to press "delete" on her time on the show and claimed she can't even remember her fellow panelist.
Asked about the programme on Power 105.1's 'Breakfast Club' radio show, she said: "I was a professional on that show, and that's all I have to say. I was a complete professional."
When one of the hosts said: "Nicki was late though", Mariah replied "Who?"
She added: "I don't even remember what that was. That was a moment in my life that I'm just going to press delete."
The 'You're Mine (Eternal)' singer - who has twins Moroccan and Monroe, two, with husband Nick Cannon - previously admitted she "hated" being on 'American Idol', suggesting Nicki was the reason she had such a bad time on the show.
She has said: "Honestly, I hated it. Here's what it was. I was the first person who signed on...I thought it was going to be a three-person panel. They gave me a nice...monetary moment, and I was just like, 'OK, Randy Jackson will be there; I've known him forever. He used to play bass for me. Like, this isn't a big deal. This will be nothing.'
"But it wasn't that. It was like going to work every day in hell with Satan."

Abbie Cornish wants to rap

Abbie Cornish wants to be a rapper.
The 'RoboCop' actress is determined to pursue a career in hip-hop and has admitted she's currently recording an album, which she is hoping to release later this year.
She told E! News: "I'm half-way through it [the album]. I go back into the studio at the end of February. It should be finished soon. It should be released toward the end of the year."
The 31-year-old star takes inspiration from Eminem, but insists her music taste is varied.
She explained: "My favourite rapper is Eminem. But my music collection goes from classical to jazz to blues. My favourite era is the sixties and seventies. I have a very eclectic taste in music."
However, the blonde beauty insists her studio collection won't contain lots of covers because she prefers to write her own tracks and she's also lined up some collaborations.
She said: "I compose and write. I'm working with a lot of producers and musicians."
Abbie may not be part of the soundtrack for her new flick 'RoboCop', but she admits she immediately signed up to the role of cyborg cop Alex Murphy's wife Clara and is glad she accepted the part.
She said: "I've done a lot of art house and a lot of indies, but I loved this. It's the most fun I've had making a movie."

Bono wants interactive albums

Bono plans for U2's albums to be "interactive".
The 'One' rocker is concerned about the decline in record sales over the years but thinks the key to revitalising the format is to make artwork important again by embracing technology to give listeners a more complete experience.
Discussing how to boost record sales, he said: "It's album artwork. Not videos, because videos demand your attention. You need to think it's supposed to be on in the background when you listen to the music - a much more ambient experience. People could watch while listening - the way we used to when you'd open up, say, The Clash's 'Sandinista!' and get lost in the lyrics. 'Where are they? Where's Nicaragua?'
"This format is coming - the relaunching of album artwork. A plasma screen, poof! Your phone, boom! While you're listening. Because music used to be an immersive medium, not just sonically, it was always the visuals, too.
"Elvis is an audiovisual phenomenon. The Beatles were audiovisual. It's harder and harder to get people to pay for an MP3 file, but it will be easier when you're getting something much more interactive."
However, it may take some time for Bono's ideas to come to fruition as the band admit they are "slow learners".
Drummer Larry Mullen Jr. told The Hollywood Reporter: "We've always needed collaborators to challenge us. We're slow learners. We need to be creative, on the cutting edge, challenged, and it's really hard going, it's relentless, and we're relentless, and we have a history of breaking engineers, producers.
"I mean, people come out of working with U2 and just go, 'I just don't know what's happened; it feels like a lifetime has passed by.' And that's just the way we work."

Madonna ‘hates’ her music

Madonna "hates" her own music.
The 55-year-old singer is tired of hearing her own songs so would never work out to a soundtrack of her own material.
She admitted: "I don't work out to my music - I hate my music! I mean, I'm sick of it.
"I love my music, but I'm just kind of sick of it. I like to hear other people's music when I work out."
The 'Hung Up' hitmaker - who has children Lourdes, 17, Rocco, 13, and Mercy and David, both eight - is known for her toned physique but she isn't always happy with her body.
Speaking at the opening of her Hard Candy Fitness gym in Toronto, Canada, she said: "I have a love/hate relationship with my body. "Some days I'm happy with it and other days... I wasn't born with Gisele Bundchen's body unfortunately, so you got to work for it - but it's OK."
Madonna - who is dating 26-year-old dancer Timor Steffens - also admitted she isn't a fan of "big bulky" guys but does like them to be in shape.
Speaking to 'Entertainment Tonight Canada' reporter Roz Weston, she said: "You need to work out. I'm not into big bulky muscles, but a little more definition would be good.
"I like a lean, mean, fighting machine!"

Colin Farrell’s son is a ‘stud’

Colin Farrell says his son is an "absolute stud".
The 37-year-old actor's son James, 10, suffers from Angelman Syndrome - a rare genetic condition that can impair speech, movement and balance - but he insists he is making incredible progress and makes him proud every day.
He told People magazine: "Every day, just breaking down boundaries. He's an amazing boy."
The 'Winter's Tale' star previously admitted James - whom he has with ex-girlfriend Kim Bordenave - was one of the main reasons he checked himself into rehab for drug and alcohol abuse in 2005.
He said last year: "Everything he's achieved in his life has come through the presence and the kind of will that is hard work. He's a lot to be inspired by.
"Things like walking and talking and eating and feeding himself, all those things that so many of us naturally take for granted because they come so easily, to James, they come somewhat harder ... I remember the days when he couldn't watch 10 minutes of a film because he couldn't sit still, but now he can."
Meanwhile, Colin recently admitted James is still trying to bond with his half-brother, four-year-old Henry - whom the star has with Alicja Bachleda - but insists they're getting better as they get older.
He said previously: "They have two different moms so their crossover time isn't a lot ... so they're figuring it out.
"They're good together. They're funny together. They're finally getting used to the idea that the other one isn't leaving anytime soon, that they're both here to stay."

Lil’ Kim is pregnant

Lil' Kim is pregnant.
The 39-year-old rapper has revealed she is expecting her first child and she can't wait to be a mother to her little one when it arrives.
She told Us Weekly magazine: "I'm so excited! I'm a few months along. I can't wait to be a mum!"
The 'Magic Stick' hitmaker sparked rumours she was pregnant when she turned up at New York Fashion Week yesterday (12.02.14) sporting a huge baby bump beneath her clingy dress.
She then took to the stage at the Blonds Fashion Week after party in New York to sing 'Lighters Up', which she dedicated to the late Notorious B.I.G.
She told the crowd: "It's also going to be Biggie's birthday and the anniversary of his death soon so we [as she points to her belly] love you."
However, the brunette beauty is showing no signs of slowing down and is adamant the baby won't stop her working.
She said: "I'm still going to work. I'm still going to be hardcore, the baby has made me even more of a beast!"
Lil' Kim has decided to keep the identity of her child's father private at this time, but she was last romantically linked to professional boxer Floyd Mayweather, 36, and the pair were still dating last September.
