Carrie Underwood is prepared to get dirty when she works at an animal shelter.
The 'Blown Away' singer may be a multi-million selling artist, but is still no stranger to hard physical labour as she volunteers at the Happy Paws shelter when she visits her parents in Oklahoma.
She revealed: "I went to my parents a few weeks ago and spent two days cleaning out some pretty messy pens at an animal shelter, Happy Paws. It was long and gruelling, but the people that run the shelter are wonderful."
Former 'American Idol' winner Carrie is also into keeping fit, and celebrates reaching her daily goals by performing her own little dance.
She added to People magazine: "I recently bought myself and all of my friends a Fitbit personal tracker. When you reach your goal, it buzzes. I set my goals pretty high, so I deserved that happy dance."
However, the 30-year-old singer - who is married to Nashville Predators ice hockey player Mike Fisher - isn't so keen on dancing in public.
She said: "The last time I blushed was when I was dancing and acting silly in the box at one of my husband's hockey games. I didn't realise I was being filmed until I saw the clips a day later."

Elizabeth Olsen has never been a fan of comic books.
The 24-year-old actress plays Scarlet Witch in the upcoming superhero movie 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron' and, although she admits she's never really been one to read a comics, she insists she had heard of her alter-ego before she was handed the role.
She told Total Film magazine: "I'm not much of a comic book person. I like comic book movies but my brother [Trent, a screenwriter] is the comic book guy. If I'm having a meeting, I ask my brother to tell me about it. But of course I'd seen 'The Avengers'! I've seen all the Marvel movies. I love those movies.
"Marvel keep the fantastical qualities but create something as realistic as they can make for this world. There's something genuinely broken. Everyone has their Achilles' heel."
The screen star admits she doesn't know how she managed to secure herself the role in the Marvel movie, but doesn't think the director, Joss Whedon, hired her to wear racy outfits like the ones in the comic.
She explained: "I don't know how I got the job, but now I have it, and we're creating it. It's been a really fun process. We're being aware of the comic books but also doing our own thing."
She added: "We've done some costume stuff. My favourite piece is my secrecy cloak that prevents anyone from seeing what I'm wearing. There's a hood and a robe. It protects the image.
"I don't think Joss ever would have hired me, honestly, if he wanted me to wear those (racy) outfits. I am not a professional athlete, nor am I a model. Wearing those costumes wouldn't be fun for anyone who wasn't those things. He already had a different idea."

Beyoncé has teamed up with Britain's Prince Charles in a bid to raise money for charity at her concerts.
The 'Drunk in Love' singer is encouraging her fans to make £3 donations to The Prince's Trust as part of her global campaign #BeyGood, encouraging people to be kind to their community.
Beyoncé, who is already an ambassador for the charity, said: "As a young child I was blessed to have the support of my family who encouraged me to reach for my goals.
"So many young people don't have this. I am honoured to partner the #BeyGood campaign with The Prince's Trust to help young people beat the odds and create better lives for themselves."
Concert-goers will be given the opportunity to have their seats upgraded to VIP during her 'Mrs Carter Show' dates if they help to raise money for the youth charity.
Chief executive of The Prince's Trust, Martina Milburn, said: "Beyoncé understands that, every day in the UK, young people are facing not only unemployment but also the devastating effects of homelessness, addiction, poverty, bullying and poor mental health.
"All of these hardships can leave them feeling that life isn't worth living. It is up to us to help them get their lives back on track and the funds raised through the #BeyGood campaign will help us to do that."
Prince Charles met the 32-year-old superstar in 2003 at an event in London's Hyde Park and he revealed his son, Prince William, had a crush on her, while his other son, Prince Harry, is also a fan of her music.

Mr. Papers - who was romantically linked to the rapper in 2012 - has taken credit for impregnating the 'Magic Stick' hitmaker after she revealed on Wednesday (12.02.14) she is expecting her first child.
The low-profile hip-hop artist has been bombarded with congratulatory messages on Twitter from his pals, to which he has retweeted to his 4,300 followers.
His friend, Von Killpatrick, wrote: "Congrats to @MR_Papers!!! He gave Kim what she wanted for years. I'm so happy for both of them. (sic)"
Another pal, Donte, added: "Heard All LiL Kim Fans are Looking For My Dawg @Mr_Papers LoL 🙌 Congratz Homie!!! #LiLKim #MrPapers... (sic)"
Mr. Papers then wrote, "I heard everybody looking for me?", before changing his account name to 'Daddy'.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported world champion boxer Floyd Mayweather, 36, is the father of the 39-year-old star's unborn child as they were dating each other up until September last year.
However, the rumours didn't go down well with Mr. Papers, who claims he is "very excited" about becoming a dad and is planning to get married to Lil' Kim.
He told New York Daily News' Confidenti@l page: "I'm very upset people are going around saying this is Floyd Mayweather's child when it's mine. I'm excited to be a dad and am going to marry Lil Kim."
Although Lil' Kim - who is believed to be four-and-a-half months pregnant - is remaining tight-lipped on the father's identity, she is reportedly planning to reveal all in a reality TV show, which will begin filming next month.

Jared Leto and Lupita Nyong'o have sparked rumours they are dating after being spotted flirting with one another.
The Hollywood stars - who have been nominated for the Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress awards at the upcoming Oscars - were seen getting cosy at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York City on Wednesday (12.02.14).
A source told the New York Post newspaper: "They were huddled at a corner table together looking very close."
The pair sparked they were getting close after they were seen spending a lot of time together at the Golden Globe awards in Los Angeles last month and various other events this month.
Lupita, 30, reportedly had an on-set romance with Chiwetel Ejiofor, 36, while filming Steve McQueen's '12 Years A Slave', but the relationship fizzled out after filming wrapped up last year.
Meanwhile, the 30 Seconds to Mars frontman had a high-profile relationship with Cameron Diaz in 1999, and the pair became engaged in 2000, before ending their romance in 2003.
However, Jared - who has also been linked to Taylor Swift and Alexa Chung recently - insists sometimes looks can be deceiving.
He told Marie Claire magazine earlier this year: "You know sometimes you get linked to someone you've never met and you're like, 'I wouldn't mind actually getting to know her.' "
Although, with a hectic working schedule and various other commitments, the 42-year-old actor admits he's not looking for love at the moment.

Dame Helen Mirren says success comes with "struggle".
The 68-year-old actress - who is set to be honoured with the Fellowship Award at the BAFTAs this Sunday (16.02.14) for her contribution to the film industry - insists she has experienced both "glorious success" and "disastrous failure" in her career, but thinks her self-criticism has inspired her to keep trying.
Speaking on British talk show 'Lorraine', she explained: "You never know why the trajectory of your life has led you to any particular point, whether it was glorious success or disastrous failure - I've experienced both. But certainly I think, a hardened process has to be there ... although obviously with that comes a thought process because there is always self-doubt, self-criticism and struggle. Struggle is a part of the process."
Helen also insists a good work ethic, including being punctual and considerate, will help anyone make it in the industry.
She added: "Also, I think it's incredibly important to turn up on time and be a good team player."
Helen played Britain's Queen Elizabeth II in 'The Audience' - which won her a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress - and claims since then she has become attached for the monarch.
The actress - who also portrayed Elizabeth in 2006 film 'The Queen' - added: "Well, she's not attached to me but I am sort of attached to her. In some invisible way and certainly when I die, the fact that I played the Queen will be remembered."

Jennifer Lawrence and boyfriend Nicholas Hoult are set to move in together.
The American actress and her 'X Men' co-star are reportedly searching for their first home and have put in an offer for a seven-bedroom barn conversion near Hook, a village in Hampshire, close to where Nicholas's family live.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "They loved the house as soon as they saw it. They know it's not realistic at this point in their thriving careers to live in the UK, but they want a bolthole across the pond.
"Jen loves the English way of life and as they are now serious again, it makes sense to look into buying somewhere."
The couple, who have been dating on and off for three years, viewed the £1.3 million property while visiting Nicholas's family in nearby Berkshire over Christmas and also spent the day checking out the area, including local pubs and restaurants.
Jennifer, 23, first met Nicholas, 24, on the set of 2011's 'X-Men: First Class' but they later split in January 2013 before getting back together over the summer to film the new 'X-Men' movie.
They were spotted kissing last month at the Golden Globe Awards as 'American Hustle' star Jennifer picked up one of the night's top honours for Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy).
Jennifer embraced Nicholas with a kiss on the lips and placed her hands on his face before joining the cast and crew on stage to accept the award.

Russell Brand is taking his girlfriend on a romantic boat trip to mark Valentine's Day.
The 38-year-old comedian has arranged to take his beau Jemima Khan on a private ferry ride across the River Mersey at midnight following his gig in Liverpool, North West England, tonight (14.02.14).
A friend of the pair told the Daily Star newspaper: "Jemima has been to a few of Russ's gigs, but mainly around the London area. She hasn't ventured up north too much.
"But tonight will be different as it's their first Valentine's Day together as a couple, and they didn't want to spend it apart."
The 'Get Me To The Greek' star has also planned for a beautiful candlelit dinner on the boat, before whisking his lover off to St John's Tower in Liverpool to look over the starlit city.
The source explained: "On the boat ride he's planning a candlelit picnic for his sweetheart, and then afterwards they'll head to the top of St John's Tower.
"It's nearly 500ft tall and the views at night are amazing.
"Because it's used as a radio station, Russ reckons his DJ connections will secure them a private area for hanky panky."
Russell - who was married to Katy Perry in 2010 before divorcing almost two years later - is determined to spoil Jemima and prove to her that he can be romantic.
The source said: "Whatever Russ decides on, you can bet it'll be a night to remember for Jemima.
"He doesn't do things like this by halves.
"He really wants to show her just how romantic and serious he can be."
