Diana Vickers was told by an ex-boyfriend she had "really bad breath."
The singer and actress, who is fronting a campaign for Wrigley's Extra chewing gum, admits she was told by a boy when she was younger her breath didn't smell great when he kissed her.
Diana, who is now dating musician George Craig, told BANG Showbiz: "My first kiss was a bit awkward and he could have done with some chewing gum [and] I do remember when I was younger I had a boyfriend who was horrible to me.
"I had a massive crush on him and we were dating and he used to say I had really bad breath. If only I'd known about Wrigley's. It's fine now and George doesn't complain."
The 22-year-old star also used to be self conscious about smiling during photographs when she was younger because she didn't like her teeth and is now fronting the campaign as part of National Smile Month.
She said: "I went through a phase when I was a bit younger of being really embarrassed about my smile, I used to think I had little bunny teeth, but now I'm embracing it so I always put on my best smile on the red carpet."
Meanwhile, Diana and George, who fronts the band One Night Only, have been together for more than three years and they are very happy together.
She said: "We're doing really well, it's three and a half years now. Going strong, he's a babe, I'm very happy."

Courtney Love worries about being a role model.
The 49-year-old star - who was married to late Nirvana rocker Kurt Cobain, whom she had 21-year-old daughter Frances Bean - insists her attitude in the public eye never used to bother her but as she ages she understands the implications of her behaviour.
She explained: "I never used to think about being a role model for girls, but I do now. I have a 21-year-old daughter and I realise how our actions can create copycat desires. A lot of the time when I was younger I had this real attitude of, 'F**k you, you suck!' to everything, but these days I don't really need the bullsh*t of that stuff.
"I'm 49, maybe I should have learnt this stuff about 20 years ago, but at least I am now."
The Hole singer also recognises that she doesn't have a sparkling reputation since she can be a "b***h".
Courtney added to Kerrang! magazine: "I'm like a comic book villain. If this was Batman I'd be the Joker's daughter. Let's face it I have a terrible reputation. I'm kind of a b***h sometimes and I've been known to slag other artists off. But come on! They slag me off, too!"

Hilary Duff isn't in a "rush" to get back together with Mike Comrie.
The couple split in January after three years of marriage and, although the blonde beauty insists they could potentially rekindle their romance, she doesn't want to jump back into a relationship with him too quickly.
Speaking to Us Magazine, she explained: "We're not in a rush for anything. So we're just trying to enjoy our lives and figure out what makes us happy and it's working for us."
Hilary, who has two-year-old son Luca with Mike, admits the pair have managed to keep a strong friendship despite their split and they enjoy spending time together.
She said: "I don't think Mike would ever go anywhere. I mean, we are really dedicated to taking care of Luca, and we're really good friends who spend a lot of time together."
She added: "We have Luca as our main priority, but we do care a lot about each other. We're adults and we're making our way through life. Sometimes you do that together and apart and we're gonna be and we're going to do it in the most peaceful way possible."
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old singer can't believe how quickly Luca is growing up and learning new things.
She said: "He's two, so he definitely has a strong personality! He opened his own door today, I couldn't believe it! I was like, 'Wow, when did that happen?'
"Like when he can actually twist the doorknob and push the door open?"

Pharrell Williams has revealed he hung up on the late Michael Jackson twice.
The 'Happy' hitmaker received a phone call from the King of Pop when he was recording a track with Justin Timberlake for his first solo album but he thought it was someone playing a prank on him, so he rejected the calls.
However, after Michael rung for the third time, Pharrell's management encouraged him to answer the phone.
Speaking on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', he explained: "So I pick up the phone and he's like 'Hello, how are you? It's Michael [crunch crunch crunch crunch].'
"He was eating popcorn in my ear and that's when I knew it was him."
However, after realising he'd just hung up on the star, who died in 2009, the 41-year-old singer thought he better rectify the situation he'd just landed himself in.
Although, he soon learnt that Michael was only interested in talking about Justin, 33.
He recalled: "I'm like, 'I'm such a huge fan,' and he's like 'How's it going with Justin, is he good?'"
Pharrell then replied with 'Yes sir,' and the 'Billie Jean' hitmaker said, 'That's good, that's amazing. Cool. Well, have a good time, see you later'."

Jenny McCarthy "trusted the process of dating" when she began romancing Donnie Wahlberg.
The presenter, 41, believes her relationship with the singer, 44, is strong because she got to know him for who he is, rather than reading about his past on the internet.
She explained to E! News: "We both trusted the process of dating and we didn't let stories take over. I think a lot of times we get caught up in the fantasy of who we think somebody is, and instead we trusted getting to know who each other are for real.
"So we paid attention to each other, we didn't make up things and Google each other."
The couple are now engaged to be married after Donnie popped the question last month and they have spent the past few weeks planning their big day.
Jenny said previously: "It would be this year or next year. We like the idea of getting away on a vacation, but we also like the idea of keeping it local."
Meanwhile, Jenny has 11-year-old son Evan with her ex-husband John Mallory Asher, and Donnie has sons Xavier, 21, and Elijah, 12, with his ex-wife Kim Fey.

Angelina Jolie's children give her "sleepless nights".
The 38-year-old actress admits she's constantly worried about her kids, Maddox, 12, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, seven, and five-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, whom she has with fiancé Brad Pitt, because she couldn't bear it if something happened to them or someone she loves.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, she said: "I think like every mother I'm just afraid of something happening to them [my children]. We're in a new hotel room and I couldn't sleep because I was worried that the railing was too short on the stairs.
"Of course just anything happening to somebody that I love is my greatest fear. There's a lot that keeps me up a night, there's a lot of bad stuff going on in the world."
Meanwhile, the 'Unbroken' director recently revealed she never thought she'd find someone to love and have children with because she believed it was a fantasy.
She said: "I never thought I'd have children, I never thought I'd be in love, I never thought I'd meet the right person.
"Having come from a broken home--you kind of accept that certain things feel like a fairy tale, and you just don't look for them."

Katy Perry spent over £1,000 on flame-grilled chicken after her show in Northern Ireland last night (07.05.14).
The 'Roar' hitmaker appeared to have worked up quite an appetite after she kicked off her 'Prismatic' world tour at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast as she treated herself to a tasty take-out from Portuguese-style restaurant chain, Nando's.
The 29-year-old singer put in a massive order for her and her entourage, which included 32 whole chickens, 20 chicken wraps, 80 helpings of spicy rice, 80 servings of garlic bread, 80 corn on the cobs, 80 tubs of macho peas, 15 roasted Portobello mushroom & grilled halloumi wraps, and a side order of coleslaw and houmous.
Tina Sloan, the manager of Nando's on Bedford Street, told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "We're over the moon that Katy requested Nando's during her trip to Belfast. As massive Katy Perry fans, all the team were really excited when the order came through. We hope the PERi-PERi chicken wasn't too hot for her."
A member of staff from the local Nando's restaurant delivered the generous order to the show.
Meanwhile, Katy has another 17 dates to perform across the UK before she makes her way across the pond to the US, before finishing up her tour in Australia.

Leonardo DiCaprio has reportedly "burned" himself out.
The 'Wolf of Wall Street' star has been told to slow down by his friends as they fear his hectic work schedule is having a negative effect on his health and personal life.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "Leo has been working like a demon over the past three years - and it's now starting to come back and haunt him.
"He's pretty burned out at the moment and suffering from insomnia from pushing himself so hard.
"Everybody is begging Leo to slow down but he's just very focused on making a lot of money right now -- to the exclusion of almost everything else."
However, it appears the 39-year-old actor has been investing his money wisely as he recently spent $10 million on a new four-bedroom apartment in New York.
He also splashed out $8 million on an apartment adjacent to a $4 million home he already owns in the eco-friendly 2 River Terrace in Battery Park City last month.
And in February, he spent $5.2 million on a six-bedroom mansion in Palm Springs, California.
Meanwhile, Leonardo - who was nominated for an Oscar award last year - has already got another project lined up for later this year as he's reportedly signed up to star in 'The Revenant', which will start production in November.

Ashley Roberts had a "naughty" dream about Harry Styles.
The former Pussycat Dolls singer admits she once woke up baffled after spending the duration of her sleep thinking she was having sex with the One Direction hunk.
Speaking in a radio interview with In:Demand FM, she explained: "I had a dream about Harry Styles ... I don't know if I can say ... so first off I woke up and at the time I didn't know much about One Direction, I mean I didn't really know any of their songs but Harry popped into one of my dreams and I woke up like, 'What the heck? I think I can be put in jail for that, is he legal?'"
When asked by Stu Tolan if the dream was naughty, she replied with: "It was, it was."
However, the blonde beauty, 32, admits she had to search the internet after her imaginary night with Harry, 20, because she was so stunned by the cheeky dream.
She added: "I woke up and I had to google him because I was like, 'Wait a second. What just happened?'"
Although, Ashley soon realised after her confession that she may face backlash from Harry's adoring fans for imagining a night of passion with him.
She said: "I have to deal with it [Harry's fans giving me abuse] now. That's going to be fun!"
