Melissa McCarthy: I cried over my weight

Melissa McCarthy used to cry over her weight when she was a young actress.
The 'Bridesmaids' star admits she cries easily but was often upset about her looks and thought she needed to be skinnier to be successful in the film industry.
She told People magazine: "In my 20s I used to cry about why I wasn't thinner or prettier, but I want to add that I also used to cry about things like, 'I wish my hair would grow faster. I wish I had different shoes ...,' I was an idiot ... It's a decade of tears."
These days, the 43-year-old actress - who is married to her 'Tammy' co-writer Ben Falcone - doesn't care about looking silly and admires people who don't care about the opinion of others.
Melissa said: "I'll do almost anything for a laugh. I'm completely delighted by people who think, 'I don't care what anybody else thinks, I look great in this, and I rock it and I love it.' It's such a delightful sort of confidence."
The actress has never felt the need to change how she looks but is annoyed by horrible comments about her weight and her acting skills.
She said: "I've always thought, 'If you want somebody different, pick somebody else.' But sure, criticism can sometimes still get to me. Some things are so malicious, they knock the wind out of you."
The brunette star was described as "America's plus-size sweetheart" in a recent article and Melissa thinks it was unfair to mention her weight.
She said: "It's like I'm managing to achieve all this success in spite of my affliction ... Would you ever put that in the headline for a male star?"
As a mother to daughters Vivian, seven, and Georgette, four, she wants them to care more about laughter and memories than looks as they grow up and she's grateful for what she has in terms of her family and success.
She said: "Ben and I will have moments where we look at each other and go, 'This is not bad at all'. I feel like I got hit with a lucky stick."

Shakira doesn’t want to get married

Shakira doesn't want to marry her long term boyfriend Gerard Pique.
The 'Hips Don't Lie' singer - who has a 17-month-old son, Milan, with the Spanish soccer star - insists she isn't keen on tying the knot with Gerard, 27, as it won't make any difference to their relationship.
She told Glam Belleza Latina: "We already have what's essential, you know? We have a union, a love for each other, and a baby. I think that those aspects of our relationship are already established, and marriage is not going to change them."
However, the blonde beauty insists she wouldn't rule out marrying the Barcelona defender altogether.
She added: "But if I'm ever going to get married, he's the one."
The Grammy Award-winner - who released her tenth studio album 'Shakira' in March this year and finished her judging role on season 6 of 'The Voice US' in May - is currently enjoying spending time with her baby son.
When asked what makes her happy, the 37-year-old star said: "I suppose it's knowing that I can share with Milan everything I've learned and seen. I don't have to keep all of that information to myself. I love teaching him something new every day."

Adam Levine ‘went nuts’ with fame

Adam Levine had the "time of his life" when he first found fame.
The Maroon 5 singer moved into Los Angeles' Chateau Marmont hotel after the release of debut album 'Songs About Jane' in 2002 and admits the subsequent hedonistic period - which saw him romantically linked to a string of women including Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Simpson - was "amazing".
He said: "All of a sudden, I had money in my bank account. I hadn't had a break in a long time. And I went a little f**king nuts. You know? And good. I deserved to go a little bit nuts. And I had the time of my life.
"Men are not as sophisticated as women. They're not as mature as women. They're not as connected with their emotions as women. There's a very Neanderthal quality that still exists in a lot of men. There's the carnal s**t you can't deny.
"And if you're in the public eye, to me, it's very boring to say what you have to say and be media trained to the extent that you don't ever reveal any truth. There was a time in my life when I lived probably a bit more on the primal level. And it was amazing."
However, the 35-year-old singer - who is engaged to Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo - admits his past antics have tainted his reputation even now.
He added in an interview with America's GQ magazine: "That was kind of the foundation of all the negative s**t I still get.
"I was out there having fun, you know. I didn't give a s**t, and I got burned for it. People change; people grow up, get more self-aware and in tune with all this s**t."

Channing Tatum’s ‘mortifying’ massage

Channing Tatum and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum were left "mortified" when they went for a couples massage.
The 'Witches of East End' actress wanted to treat her husband at a spa in Canada, but the pair were horrified when they discovered they would have to be "butt naked".
Speaking on 'Chelsea Lately', she said: "In Vancouver, there's an Indian spa -- and they don't tell you this -- they take you in there and they put you in a sari and then they take it off, so you're completely butt naked.
"You're normally naked but it's [usually] like dark lighting. First of all, there were really beautiful Indian women, so already I was like, 'Maybe I'm regretting this.'
"And then I'm watching Chan be mortified -- this is the funniest part --because I'm sitting there in the steam so I go first and I'm like, 'Oh, he has no idea.'
"Like, she saw him just sitting there naked and then they bring him out and he's just completely naked, and she completely knows who he is, obviously.
"He looks at me like, 'I am going to kill you.' It was quite mortifying for both of us."
Jenna - who has 12-month-old daughter Everly with her spouse - recently admitted the '22 Jump Street' actor doesn't like her filming sex scenes.
Asked if it was true her spouse "doesn't like her having sex scenes with other men" on TV, she said: "So true."
She added: "It'd be weird if he was like, 'Ah, I'm cool with it, do whatever,' you know?
"It's never fun [shooting love scenes], but you just get really used to it, it's weird."

George Clooney has protection laws passed

George Clooney has been granted two new protection laws in Italy ahead of his wedding.
'The Monuments Men' actor is set to tie the knot with fiancee Amal Aladmuddin and Laglio Council have approved laws and huge fines designed to keep uninvited guests away from his lakeside mansion Villa Oleandra in Lake Como, fuelling speculation the September nuptials will take place there.
According to Us Weekly, the laws, which were declared on Saturday (21.06.14), are to prevent the paparazzi stopping on both the road outside his house, and the water directly in front of his home.
Anyone sailing or swimming within 100 metres could be fined up to 500 euros and the restrictions will remain in place until September 30.
The 53-year-old star got engaged to human rights attorney Amal, 36, in April, and they are planning on getting married in the next few months.
The loved-up pair have been considering venues in Lake Como and Cabo San Lucas in Mexico, where he also owns a villa and the new laws would make planning the wedding a lot easier.
Mayor of Laglio, Roberto Pozzi, told Us Weekly that the couple have not yet made an official request to hold the wedding in Italy.
He said: "We have not received any formal requests yet but we are ready for any requests.
"It is now completely forbidden to stop outside the entrance to Clooney's villa. It's a question of traffic and security. It is very dangerous and it's also an issue of privacy.
"We have never penalised anyone in the past.
"This type of action is designed to bring about a change in people's behaviour and create a more peaceful environment. We have to guarantee privacy and security for George Clooney and his guests."
George made the most of his new laws at the weekend by having his future mother-in-law, Baria Alamuddin, over to visit away from prying eyes.

Rob Kardashian not speaking to Kim or Khloe

Rob Kardashian hasn't spoken to his sisters Kim and Khloe for a month.
The 27-year-old sock designer has not been contacted by Kim since he failed to attend her wedding to Kanye West last month, and has shunned attempts from his other sibling to repair their rift.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "[Rob] has no reason to talk to Kim. They haven't been on good terms for a very long time.
"Kim hasn't bothered to even attempt to talk to him since returning from her honeymoon, [while] Khloé has sent him text messages and left him several voice mails.
"Rob hasn't returned any of Khloé's phone calls or texts. He feels completely estranged from his sisters and family. He really isn't in a good place."
Rob did fly out to Paris, France, for Kim's nuptials, but after getting into an argument with her - in which she mocked his recent weight gain - he flew back to Los Angeles instead of travelling to Florence, Italy, for the ceremony and insiders have admitted there had been tension between the pair for some time.
A source said previously: "Kim and Rob haven't been speaking to each other for months -- she thinks he is lazy, and bringing down the family name because of his physical appearance.
"After arriving in Paris, Rob and Kim got into a very heated argument because she thought he was just moping around the hotel.
"She encouraged him to go out and sight see, which he declined to do."

Emily Ratajkowski hides when she hears Blurred Lines

Emily Ratajkowski hides when 'Blurred Lines' is played in nightclubs.
The 23-year-old beauty is the star of the music video for the controversial 2013 hit single by Robin Thicke, Pharrell and T.I and although the job catapulted her to fame, she claims she's tired of men using the lyrics as chat up lines.
Quizzed on her reaction at being offered the lead role in the video - which sees her dancing in nothing but a nude-coloured thong - she told GQ magazine: "I didn't want to do it first, but I talked to the director and I understood what it was.
"I do like it. But if there's one thing I'd request, it's for people who see me out to not be, like, 'You're the hottest b***h in this place'.
"When it comes on in a bar, I run into the bathroom and hide."
The brunette beauty - who dropped out of college after just one year to focus on becoming a model - also confessed that she wants other women to be able to relate to her.
She explained: "I think it was Mario Testino [the photographer] who said when you look at a photo of Kate Moss, you feel like you're looking at a real person.
"And that's something that I hope would come through in my photos, maybe more than what you would see in another model."

Hank Baskett ‘paid transsexual to keep quiet’

A transsexual woman claims Kendra Wilkinson's husband has paid her over $2,000 to stay silent about their tryst.
Ava Sabrina London has alleged Hank Baskett promised to "take care" of her and visited her just two weeks after his baby daughter Alijah was born to give her cash in exchange for keeping their encounter secret.
Ava - who passed a voluntary lie detector test before coming forward to tell her story of a sexual experience with Hank - told RadarOnline.com: "Hank wasn't specific on how he was going to take care of me, but he promised to take care of me financially.
"Hank called me around June 4 to meet him at a gas station so that he can give me money and he kept insisting on it and I said no I wasn't going to meet him there. So he ended up coming to my place and he left $2,000.in a coffee cup by the pool.
"Since I first met Hank, he's given me about $2,400 in cash."
During her examination by polygrapher Joseph Paolella, video model Ava said Hank - who also has four-year-old son Hank Jr. with Kendra - paid her around $400 after their first encounter in April.
She also confirmed he agreed to pay her $2,000 to deny she ever met with him and he further offered her $5,000 to not talk publicly about their sexual encounter.
According to the report, there was "no indication of deception" in her answers.

Rita Ora thinks social media is like a ‘drug’

Rita Ora thinks social media is "like a drug".
The 23-year-old singer has developed an obsession with Instagram and Twitter and admits her phone is the first thing she reaches for when she wakes up in the morning.
Speaking in the August issue of Flare magazine, she explained: "I'm on it as soon as I wake up. I scroll with one eye open. It's like a drug. For me, it's like, look forward. You don't have to look side to side. If you start looking from side to side, you get confused."
Meanwhile, the 'I Will Never Let You Down' hitmaker, who has been signed to Jay Z's label Roc Nation since 2009, admits she has carved out her successful career based on inspiration from Beyoncé, 32.
Rita explained: "Beyoncé built her f**king foundation from the bottom. I think that's the exact career every female artist wants to have."
However, the blonde beauty believes the competition from other female artists - such as Rihanna - have also helped her progress her career and reach for her goals.
She said: "There's always competition. I definitely feel it. I thrive off of it. I love it."
