Billy Bob Thornton thinks he's a "hermit".
The 58-year-old actor admits he rarely goes out to socialise with his friends and insists the next event he'll be attending is the Emmy awards at the end of August.
Speaking to USA Today newspaper, he said: "I don't get out much. The next time I'll be out will be at the Emmys. I'm kind of a hermit. I only have about seven friends."
The hunky star will be attending the event, held in Los Angeles, in the hope of picking up the best actor award after being nominated for his role in 'Fargo', but he admits most of his friends haven't even seen the movie.
He explained: "Most of them have probably never seen 'Fargo'. They're happy for you, too. It's good not just for yourself, but the people around you. It's nice for my mum. She'll be thrilled, and my kids."
Meanwhile, Billy Bob won't be shouting his success from any social networking sites as he insists he doesn't use Facebook and Twitter because he's not an "idiot".
He said previously: "Twitter and Facebook, and all these things, are making people into blithering idiots. I don't use any of that mess. In the '60s we would say 'power to the people' but that's not what we meant."

Lauren Conrad isn't dieting for her wedding.
The former 'The Hills' star is set to marry fiancé William Tell in her native Orange County, California, this summer, but she insists she's not sticking to an extreme eating plan or fitness regime to get in shape for her big day.
Speaking to PEOPLE.com, she said: "I'm not a huge fan of the gym, to be honest. When I have to go to the gym and put an hour in, I'm just staring at the clock. I really love food ... I'm not good at dieting. I try to make smart choices but just eat a little bit less."
The loved-up couple, who got engaged last October, having been dating for over two years, but the blonde beauty admits they still go on regular dates.
She explained: "It's just like any other couple with full-time jobs. You make date night and you have weekends, hopefully. Not [all] weekends, but some weekends. I'm really fortunate in that I get to do things that I love, so it doesn't feel like work. I think if you're doing something you love, it's not a lot. You're excited every day.
"We haven't been to a club together in a very, very long time, if ever. We probably entertain more than we go out, to be honest. I love just having a couple of people over for dinner. It's easier for me. I don't have to wear shoes. Everybody's happy."

Mel Gibson feels sympathy for Shia LaBeouf.
The 58-year-old actor is concerned about the troubled star, who has sparked fears over his mental health after he appeared at a film premiere in Germany with a paper bag on his head earlier this year, and believes he's got some personal issues that need resolving.
Speaking to Indiewire, he said: "When I see someone like Shia LaBeouf with the bag on his head and stuff, my heart goes out to the poor guy. I think he's suffering in some way. Or why would he do that?
"People are inclined to sort of point the finger at him and say like, well, he's this, that, or the other. It's easy to judge. But I'm sure he's going through some kind of personal, very painful, cathartic thing that he has to exorcise and get out there."
Shia is currently receiving treatment for alcohol addiction after he was arrested in New York City last month for allegedly yelling offensive language and slapping people's bottoms during a 'Cabaret' performance.
However, Mel believes the 27-year-old star will sort out his problems and will come back fighting.
He added: "He'll be all right. I actually like the kid. I think he's good."
Meanwhile, Shia is due to appear in court in New York on July 24 after he was charged with harassment, disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing following his bizarre behaviour in Studio 54 theatre.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are reportedly planning to get married at their house in the south of France.
The couple are yet to set a date for their wedding but are hoping to tie the knot later this year or early next Spring in their future family home, Château Miraval, in front of a small amount of close family and friends.
A source told E! News: "[Brad and Angelina would like a] quiet, meaningful celebration of their love at their future family home ... There'll be no more than 22 guests, which will be close family only. It'll be a lovely celebration to start life in the new house."
The pair were keen to exchange their vows sooner but have had to put the wedding on hold after problems with the renovations at the home, which has led to the delay.
The source explained: "This is Brad's project and Angie has had nothing to do with it. It's all been so stressful and has been such a gigantic headache that she just left him to it. There's still no official date set, but they're at the stage where they can say they'll definitely be married by this time next year."
Angelina, 39, and Brad, 50, first went public with their relationship in April 2005, just four months after Brad's divorce from Jennifer Aniston was finalised.
The loved-up duo went on to get engaged in 2012 and share six children, Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, eight, and five-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

Leah Remini admits the "best thing" about leaving the Church of Scientology is she can "drink every other day".
The 44-year-old star dumped the religious organisation, which bans the consumption of alcohol within 24 hours of training, last year and she's glad she's now allowed to enjoy an alcoholic beverage whenever she wants.
Speaking on 'Watch What Happens Live' last night (09.07.14), she said: "The worst part [about scientology] was I couldn't drink every other day and best part [about leaving] is that I can drink every other day!"
However, the 'Kings of Queens' actress admits she's still trying to deal with life after scientology as she's lost some of her friends, but appreciates the things she does have.
She explained during an appearance on 'Good Morning America': "You look through your phone [and] you're like, 'Oh I can't call this person.' But you know, as we were in that time of loss and grief, still sad we lost our friends, we also have to look at what we do have. We have great family. We have great friends still in our lives."
Leah announced her decision to leave the organisation last July following years of abuse for questioning the actions of the Church leader, David Miscavige.

Dame Helen Mirren is glad she didn't find love until later on in life.
The 68-year-old actress is happy she didn't meet her husband Taylor Hackford until she was in her 40s because she doesn't think they'd have got together if they'd met when they were younger.
Speaking to Oprah Winfrey in the new issue of O magazine, she said: "I used to say to Taylor, 'I wish we'd met earlier on. We've missed so much time together. And he'd say, 'We'd never be together now if we met earlier.'
"And I think he's actually right because we were both on a trajectory of work and ambition and, of course, to a certain extent, wanting to resolve ourselves as ourselves."
The 'RED' star admits her relationship with the American director, whom she married in 1997, encouraged her to look at life differently and realise what is important to her.
She explained: "Before I met Taylor, all my relationships took second place to my work. If I had to go to Africa, it was 'Bye bye, I'm off to Africa.' And then he came into my life, and I started thinking, 'Maybe it's time to have a different attitude - and to say that my relationship is at least as important as my work. To give it the time."

Jimmy Kimmel has become a father again.
The chat show host has announced he and his wife Molly McNearney welcomed a baby girl - their first child together - into the world this morning (10.07.14).
Taking to his Twitter account to share the happy news with his fans, he tweeted: "Congratulations to my beautiful and very tough wife @mollymcnearney on delivering our baby girl this morning (sic)."
The funnyman, who tied the knot with his long-time love last July, announced in February he and Molly, a writer on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', were expecting a baby together.
Revealing the exciting news on an episode of 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show', he said: "I'm having a baby . . . wait I want to finish . . . with Ellen. No, I decided to have the first one with my wife. We got married in July and, you know, it's interesting. It's disgusting the way babies are made."
Jimmy already has children Katie and Kevin with his ex-wife Gina, who he split from in 2002, but he admitted earlier this year that he was worried that he would be out of practice when it comes to looking after babies.
He explained: "I have a 20-year-old son and a 22-year-old daughter, and I've really forgotten everything. It's funny because I was just with some friends who just had a baby, I was like, 'Oh yeah.'
"And there's new ways to do things. You hold them by the front of the neck now it seems."

Rosie O'Donnell is returning to 'The View'.
The 52-year-old comedian, who left the programme seven years ago, has been confirmed as the co-host on the ABC chat show alongside Whoopi Goldberg.
The network announced the news on Twitter today (10.07.14), tweeting: "It's official! ABC confirms Rosie O'Donnell returns as co-host of #TheView w/ moderator Whoopi Goldberg for Season 18 (sic)."
ABC had been "auditioning loads of people" - including Bill Rancic, Bevy Smith, Ross Matthews and Mario Cantone - in recent months in bid to get the right chemistry on the panel following Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd's exit from the show last month.
The former Playboy model, 41, was reportedly axed from the talk show after less than a year on the panel because she "played it too safe".
A source said previously: "It's not a shock that Jenny was let go. [She] restrained herself and didn't say what she really thought. She played it too safe."
Jenny took to Twitter at the end of last month to break the news to her fans and insisted she'd had a great time on the show and was grateful for what it had given her.
She tweeted: "My View will be changing too. As will with many hard working folks.
"Thanks to everyone at the show for your dedication and an amazing year (sic)."

Brandi Glanville is struggling to find love.
The 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star - who split from her husband Eddie Cibrian, with whom she has two sons, following his affair with singer LeAnn Rimes in 2009 - admitted she hasn't managed to find love again since the break-up of her marriage.
She told In Touch Weekly: "I only go on dates when the boys are at their dad's house.
"The truth is over the past five years I haven't introduced them to anyone as a boyfriend. It hasn't been love yet and I don't want to confuse them... When it's true love. It hasn't been yet... "
However, the former model - who finalised her divorce from the actor in 2010 - believes her boys, Mason, 11, and Jake, seven, are keen for her to meet someone new.
She explained: "They both now would love for me to have a boyfriend so they could wrestle with somebody because they are getting too big and too strong to be wrestling with me anymore!"
In spite of the breakdown of her marriage, Brandi, 41, is still hoping to find "Mr Right" and though she has ruled out walking down the aisle again, she is hopeful of meeting someone who can make her change her mind.
She said: "I do believe Mr. Right exists, 100 percent.
"I don't plan on getting married again, but I do welcome meeting the man that will make me change my mind about that."
