Kylie Minogue had to be selfish in cancer fight

Kylie Minogue found being "selfish" helped her battle breast cancer.
The 46-year-old singer admits she is used to putting other people first, but when diagnosed with the disease in 2005, she took advice from friends who told her to focus only on herself and allow others to help her.
Asked on Australian TV show '60 Minutes' by Karl Stefanovic how she got through her ordeal, she joked: "Oh boy, how did I do that!"
She added: "Someone had said to me at the time, 'You need to be a little bit selfish.'
"It's not in my nature to be selfish but now is the time to do that let people take care of you. And...that's what I did."
The 'Wow' hitmaker lost her hair during treatment and said it felt like a "miracle" when it started growing back as it was the first sign she was on the road to recovery.
She said: "It is years until you really get the all clear and by the time my hair started growing back it was very exciting, it was like a miracle."
Looking back on her ordeal, Kylie admitted she felt a "mixture" of emotions.
Asked what the time in her life had taught her, she said: "Many things. I know I have strength but when you're fighting something where there is a lot of unknown it's a mixture, a mixture of emotions and memories."

Katherine Heigl ‘grateful’ for movie career

Katherine Heigl is "grateful" for her movie career.
The 35-year-old star - who is making her TV comeback in new show 'State of Affairs' later this year - recently admitted she nearly quit acting because she didn't feel "challenged" by her string of romantic comedy roles, such as '27 Dresses', but the actress now insists she is thankful for all her roles and watches her films when they are on TV.
Speaking at a Television Critics Association event in Beverly Hills yesterday (13.07.14), she explained: "I was just kind of making choices that were certainly unbelievably fun - I had a really good time and I still love those movies. I'll still watch them. I know that sounds vain, but every once in a while they'll come on TV and I'm just grateful that I was there, that I got to be a part of it."
While she is grateful for her success, the former 'Grey's Anatomy' star admits she worried fans were tired of seeing her playing unlucky-in-love leading ladies.
Katherine added: "But then it starts to wear you down a little bit and it's important that you're making creative choices that support your creativity and challenge you as artist, because otherwise your audience gets bored by you!"
The blonde beauty - who is married to Josh Kelley, with whom she has adopted daughters Naleigh, four, and two-year-old Adalaide - also spoke of her recent break from acting to spend more time with her family.
She said: "I took a couple of years off to just really be with my family and be with my new daughter and expand my family. I needed that time. I needed to be a mum and be a wife and be a friend and revel in that. And remember what it is that I feel so passionate about in this industry."

Beyoncé and Jay Z having marriage counselling?

Beyoncé and Jay Z are reportedly having online marriage counselling.
The couple - who are currently on their joint 'On The Run' world tour - are said to be having counselling sessions with a therapist on the Internet via video-chat programme Skype, in order to keep their relationship going strong.
A source revealed: "It might sound drastic but in America especially, counselling is fairly standard procedure.
"They have known their therapist for a long time and try to have weekly sessions just to keep communication open and make sure there are no misunderstandings."
Despite the couple - who got married in 2008 - having been plagued by rumours of infidelity in recent months, the sessions are said to be about maintaining the happiness in their relationship for the sake of their two-year-old daughter.
The source added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It's about maintenance rather than trying to fix anything hugely wrong. They are both happy and their daughter, Blue Ivy, remains their absolute priority."
The news comes just two months after Beyonce's sister Solange Knowles was seen attacking Jay in leaked security footage from an elevator as the trio made their way out of a Met Ball after-party in New York.
A statement was later released, saying: "At the end of the day families have problems and we're no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same."

Andy Serkis: Harrison Ford is a ‘trouper’

Andy Serkis says Harrison Ford is a "trouper".
The 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' star is appearing alongside the big screen veteran in 'Star Wars Episode VII' and he described him as a tough man after fracturing his leg during a recent shoot.
Asked if he saw the incident, Andy said: "No, I didn't. Poor guy. But apparently he's been - pardon the pun - a real trouper.
"He wants to get back on set as quickly as possible and get on with it."
Harrison was injured while filming the latest instalment of the space saga after he hurt his leg on the door of the Millennium Falcon spaceship - which means fans can expect a sturdy machine in line with the original production.
He told the Independent on Sunday newspaper's New Review magazine: "That's the one thing that's possibly safe to say - JJ is absolutely, 100 per cent honouring the original three movies.
"It's filled with the love and sensibility of those films."
While Harrison has already been confirmed as reprising his role as rogue smuggler Han Solo in the first instalment of the new trilogy, Andy is having to remain tight-lipped about what part he'll be playing.
However, asked if he was going to be related to fan-favourite bounty hunter Boba Fett, he admitted: "I can probably safely safe that I'm not related to Boba Fett."

Millie Mackintosh: Professor Green is dream dinner date

Millie Mackintosh says Professor Green is her dream dinner date.
The loved-up star described her husband - whose real name is Stephen Manderson - as her ideal company for an evening out, admitting while they aren't each other's type, their relationship works and he makes her laugh.
She told the Mail on Sunday newspaper's Event magazine: "[My dream dinner date would be] Stephen. He took me to the Groucho Club in London for our first date.
"He said: 'You're not the sort of bird I go for,' and I said, 'Well, you're not the type of guy I normally go out with - I go for the bad boys!'
"He's funny and cool and makes me laugh - and that is why I married him!"
Although the couple - who got married in September 2013 - are loving their time together, they don't have any plans to expand their family yet, with Millie recently claiming they were focusing on their new home for now, rather than a baby.
She previously said: "I'm just so busy at the moment and the house is like our baby, our project. I have so many other things going on at the moment work-wise. Just renovating a house is stressful. You don't realise how expensive it is either. I can't even go shopping!
"Everyone's asking what my summer plans are and I'm just like, 'Moving!' "

Cheryl Cole has married her French boyfriend

Cheryl Cole has reportedly got married.
The 'X Factor' judge, who split from dancer Tre Holloway seven months ago, tied the knot with her French boyfriend Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in a secret ceremony on a beach on the island of Mustique, in the West Indies, this weekend.
A source told The Sun newspaper that the couple, who started dating three months ago, exchanged vows in front of just four guests, including the 'Fight For This Love' hitmaker's mother Joan Callaghan.
The 31-year-old beauty quietly started dating the 33-year-old restaurant owner in April and went public with their relationship at the Cannes International Film Festival a month later.
Jean moved into her luxury mansion in the UK last month and friends recently revealed he was eager to make the former Girls Aloud star, who was previously married to footballer Ashley Cole until 2010, his wife.
An insider told The Mirror newspaper: "Their relationship has really hotted up, and he's a very impulsive guy.
"He thinks the two of them are perfect together and would love to marry her. To people who don't know him it might seem rushed but he's a passionate Frenchman - he wears his heart on his sleeve."

Selena Gomez hits back at ‘distasteful’ fan

Selena Gomez has hit back at a "distasteful" fan for abusing her on Instagram.
The 'Come & Get It' hitmaker, who split from her on-again, off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber last week, lashed back at a young female for "bullying" her by leaving a nasty comment on one of her photographs recently, in which the fan apparently wished the brunette beauty and her family would get cancer.
Horrified by the message, the 21-year-old star shared a photograph of her response to the user, whose profile has since been deleted, captioned: "Honestly, I don't speak up much because it's simply always taken out of context. But I don't take bullying well. I have seen too much to not say anything."
In the message to her abuser, she said: "The comment you left about cancer was absurd. How distasteful of a young woman. I have gone through that battle with fans and family members. You can dislike someone but to wish something that could happen to your or your family is uncalled for sweetheart. You won't be winning anyone's heart that way. Trust me. Educate yourself a tad more. God bless love. Be an amazing woman. You're beautiful."
Her response won support from many of her loyal fans, as it was liked more than 400,000 times.

Katherine Heigl says she isn’t ‘difficult’

Katherine Heigl doesn't see herself as a "difficult" actress.
The 'State of Affairs' star, who was previously accused of causing "desperately difficult situations" on the set of her 2010 movie 'Life As We Know It,' insists she and her mother Nancy Heigl, who is also her manager, conduct themselves "professionally and respectfully" in Hollywood.
Asked about her bad reputation, the 35-year-old actress said: "I can't really speak to that. I can only say that I certainly don't see myself as being difficult. I would never intend to be difficult. I don't think my mother sees herself as being difficult. We always ... I think it's important to everybody to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully and kindly."
She added: "If I've ever disappointed somebody, it was never intentional."
A well-placed insider claimed last year that Katherine and her mother were hard to work with, saying: "I have never experienced anything like Nancy Heigl. It's about the mouth. 'F**k you. You are a f**king liar.' Whatever you'd say, you were an idiot."
Another source from Katherine's 2008 movie '27 Dresses' backed up the accusations, adding: "There were movie-star demands -- big rooms, the mother there, all the stuff . . . It was just a sense of entitlement. The biggest stars don't do that kind of thing."
The former 'Grey's Anatomy' actress hopes fans will "be excited about" her return to television.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the blonde beauty told reporters while promoting her new NBC series in Beverly Hills: "I think that this opportunity is -- and I think a lot of people want to know why this show, why come back to television -- it's because it's an extraordinary role, it's an extraordinary opportunity, and an extraordinary story, and it's an opportunity for me to flex some different muscles and show a different side of myself as an actor and a performer and a storyteller that I hope my audience will be excited about and love."

Becca Tobin will be ‘all right’ after boyfriend’s death

Becca Tobin's co-star thinks she will be "all right" following her boyfriend's sudden death.
Mark Salling is praying for the 'Glee' actress, who is said to be "baffled" after her boyfriend Matt Bendik was found dead in his hotel room at Philadelphia's Hotel Monaco on Thursday (10.07.14), but says she is a "strong girl."
The 31-year-old actor told PEOPLE.com: "Losing someone that close - I've honestly never been through anything like that, so the most someone like myself can do is offer my condolences. That's a tough one."
Matt's cause of death is currently unknown, but an incident report taken by a detective at the scene stated no drugs, drug paraphernalia, alcohol, medication or weapons were located in his hotel room, and his body did not appear to have suffered any physical harm.
The nightclub promoter's death happened just before the first anniversary of 'Glee' star Cory Monteith's death from a heroin and alcohol overdose in Vancouver, Canada today (13.07.14), and Mark admits those wounds are "still fresh."
Asked what message he would like to send to Becca, he said: "Our prayers are with you and with what we went through a year ago with Cory - it's still fresh wounds, and I can't help but associate that feeling with what we went through. But she's such a strong girl, so she'll be all right."
