Conan O'Brien isn't interested in interviewing reality TV stars.
The 51-year-old talk show icon has seen celebrity culture evolve since he first took the airwaves on 'Late Night with Conan O'Brien' in 1993 but he's more interested in talking to people who are known for a talent than stars of reality TV like 'Jersey Shore'.
His comments come after Chelsea Handler - who quit her show 'Chelsea Lately' - revealed she was "sick" of talking about the likes of the Kardashians.
Quizzed about Chelsea's controversial remarks, Conan exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "We don't do as many reality stars just because most of them aren't that interesting to talk to. I like people that have really achieved something, and have crafted a career, and are fascinating to talk to.
"I don't think I've ever talked to the Bachelor or the Bachelorette, just because I don't know what we'd talk about - 'Oh, so you were on a show and pretended to fall in love with somebody and then you got a free vacation. So what else is going on?' I don't know that the conversation would go anywhere.
"If someone was 18 years old and climbed the Matterhorn, I want to talk to them and say, 'How the hell did you that?' If someone's a great film icon, if someone wrote something amazing, if somebody pulled off some great feat at the Olympics - I want to talk to them because it's inherently interesting. There's only so far you can get talking to the ninth person on 'Jersey Shore'. It's like, 'OK... you got a tan, and went to the gym, and then got another tan.' "
Conan has interviewed Hollywood royalty such as Tom Hanks and Madonna over the years but he he has still yet to secure a chat with iconic actor-and-director Clint Eastwood.
He said: "I've talked to just about everybody but I haven't talked to Clint Eastwood, who I cite because he's one of the old guard [of Hollywood]. I've never even met him - it'd be cool to meet Clint Eastwood.
"And Cher, just to see what she looks like now! She's changing constantly. I just want to get a good look at Cher up close, that's all. I'll have a jeweller's loop in my eye. I wanna see what she's all about."
Catch 'Conan' on new free to air channel truTV (11pm Monday-Thursday from 4th August) - channel number 68, the home of larger-than-life characters in real situations.

Kim Kardashian is determined to lose 20lbs.
The reality TV star took to Twitter to post a picture of herself five years ago in which she sports a leaner figure - and it appears the picture has inspired the 33-year-old beauty to shed some weight.
Kim tweeted: "ughhh I am 20 lbs lighter here! This was just 5 years ago! Ok I'm going back on my grind. I gotta get back here! (sic)"
The photograph shows Kim wearing a tight grey and white cut-out dress, which she matched with a pair of black high heels.
Kim - who has 13-month-old daughter North West with husband Kanye West - was recently said to be on a strawberries only diet.
Last month, it was reported the 'Keeping up with the Kardashians' star was trying out yet another fad diet, which requires her to eat nothing but strawberries for each meal of the day.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "She's giving it a go a few days of the week.
"She has strawberries for breakfast and lunch and strawberry smoothie snacks inbetween."
In addition to only taking part in the diet for a number of days out of each week, she's also allowed to have a cheat meal every now and again and reportedly plans to indulge in alcoholic treats.

Katy Perry says her divorce was the "death of a dream".
The 'Roar' hitmaker was left heartbroken when her marriage to Russell Brand ended in 2011 after just 14 months and she says the split was incredibly "traumatic".
She told Rolling Stone magazine: "It was emotionally traumatic for me. It was the death of a dream. I was in fairytale land, and the reality of it wasn't so."
However, the 29-year-old beauty - who has subsequently dated John Mayer and recently been romantically linked with producer Diplo - doesn't want to seem "desperate" by continually talking about her failed marriage.
She added: "But I don't really like talking about it anymore, because it feels like a thousand lifetimes ago, and also it makes me look desperate, like I need it for attention."
These days, the 'Part of Me' hitmaker claims she is more attracted to "colourful personalities" than any specific type of person.
She said: "I'm interested in colourful personalities. Look, I can't be perfect. I don't know. I think you love who you love. You learn over time. I mean, each one has been different. I tweeted the other day that I'm just looking for the prince that fits my glass Jordans slipper."

John Legend found it "traumatic" when his parents split up.
The 'All of Me' hitmaker - who is married to Chrissy Tiegen - knows divorce is common in modern society, but admits he initially struggled to cope when his mother and father went their separate ways when he was a child.
He told People magazine: "I was 10 years old when my parents got divorced. It's a pretty common story in America, and it's a pretty tough time for kids, especially if they're still at home in the middle of growing up."
"Seeing my family fall apart was a traumatic moment."
John - who is working with Turnaround for Children, an organisation which helps schools through teacher training - credits the "emotional support" he received at school for getting him through the difficult time.
He said: "It was important to have teachers and counselors at school who could give emotional support.
"All of these people took extra time to show me that they cared and were going to hold me accountable."
The 35-year-old singer was very proud to graduate from the University of Pennsylvania and thinks completing his English studies was a sign he could go on to be successful.
He said: "One of the most determining factors of your success in life is whether you stick with something. Finishing school is a manifestation of that."

Johnny Depp performed with Aerosmith in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (30.07.14).
The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor joined his close pal Steven Tyler and bandmates Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, Joe Perry and Brad Whitford at The Forum in Inglewood where they played 'Big Ten Inch Record' together to the delight of the crowd.
As Johnny left the stage, Steven shouted: "LA, give it up for Johnny Depp! Lord knows I love that man. F**k yeah."
Meanwhile, Perry recently revealed that he enjoyed a jam session with Sir Paul McCartney, Alice Cooper and the actor in his own recording studio.
He told the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper: "It's the great ego leveller. I was in the studio with Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp, playing guitar, and the three of us are looking at each other like, hey, we're sitting here with Paul McCartney! And we're all looking at each other like open-mouthed kids.
"Paul was really nice. He's all about business (when he's recording). At 72 he can still hit all those notes... It's a project that we're keeping under wraps for now. There will be an announcement when the time is right...
"I met him once or twice over the years to say hello. To spend six or eight hours in a studio with him recording! He makes you feel like you're recording with just another guy. He just happens to be a motherf***ing huge talent!"

Joe Manganiello is "like a unicorn in the world of actors".
The 37-year-old actor insists that, unlike many other famous faces in Hollywood, he has honed his enviable physique through sheer hard work.
He told Men's Health magazine: "A lot of the actors who are on the cover of lifestyle magazines look like they've had their waistline airbrushed or they're wearing winter clothes or whatever.
"I see them and think, 'That guy doesn't work out, I know that guy and he smokes two packs of cigarettes a day and is a complete drunk on the weekends. Now he's putting out an illusion on the cover of a glossy magazine.' "
Joe, who plays Alcide in 'True Blood', added: "It's absurd to me. I'm athletic and I'm healthy. I'm like a unicorn in the world of actors."
The hunky star - who is rumoured to be dating 'Modern Family' actress Sofia Vergara - explained that one of his biggest motivations to work out was having to spend much of stripper movie 'Magic Mike' without a shirt.
He said: "When you're shirtless every day there's no let up. So we spent a fortnight doing thousands of push-ups, thousands of curls, thousands of lat raises."

Orlando Bloom has reportedly been "frolicking" with Erica Packer.
The 'Lord of the Rings' actor - who got into an altercation with Justin Bieber in Ibiza in the early hours of Wednesday (30.07.14) morning - was seen looking close to the singer on the island of Formentera on Thursday (31.07.14) and showed no signs of being upset about his row with the teenage singer, the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column reports.
Erica is the ex-wife of Australian billionaire James Packer, who has most recently been romantically linked to Orlando's former wife Miranda Kerr.
Orlando and Justin reportedly got into a fight about Miranda - who the 'Believe' hitmaker was romantically linked with during her marriage to the British actor - at upmarket eatery Cipriani.
'The Hobbit' star attempted to punch the singer after Justin reportedly told him, "Say hi to Miranda for me.
Miranda's lawyer previously insisted that rumours she cheated on Orlando, with whom she has three-year-old son Flynn, with the 'Confident' singer after the Victoria's Secret fashion show in 2012 were "false and defamatory."
And the Australian beauty recently denied she and James were romantically involved.
She said: "We've been friends for years. [Rumours] happen all the time with me, it happens to Orlando [too]. We understand it. As long as we both know [the truth], then it doesn't really matter what people think. People can speculate as much as they like.
"You're with a friend and then they assume that just because you're with a friend it's suddenly: that's your new partner. People just assume, just because you're going to have a coffee with someone or have dinner, then suddenly you're dating!"
However, earlier this week it was claimed Miranda had been making secret visits to the businessman's hotel.

Kerry Katona cried as she watched her fiance being handcuffed by police before being under the Mental Health Act on Wednesday evening (30.07.14).
George Kay was reportedly admitted to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford after a concerned motorist called the police when she saw him running down the road near his and Kerry's home screaming that someone was going to kill him.
The Sun newspaper reports that George was shouting: "Kerry, Kerry, they're going to f***ing kill me. They are hitting me with the hammer. Why are you letting them do this?
"Kerry, Kerry, open the gate, please, love...
"Call me a f***ing ambulance."
A family friend said Kerry - who briefly watched proceedings from the doorway of her rented five-bedroom home in Oxfordshire was dressed in a robe and towel - was "devastated and very upset".
The insider added: "She was crying, in bits. None of the kids were around."
A passer-by told the newspaper: "George asked me for help, but it was as if he was looking straight through me."
He was also heard telling police officers: "You're burning me. Stop, I'm on fire."
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police told The Sun newspaper: "Thames Valley Police can confirm that officers were called to a road in Chinnor shortly after 6pm following concerns for the welfare of a man.
"A 34-year-old man was detained at the scene and taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he was detained under the Mental Health Act. He was later discharged."
The Atomic Kitten singer - who has children Molly, 12, Lilly-Sue, 11, Heidi, seven, and Max, six, from previous relationships and recently gave birth to her first child, Dylan-Jorge, with George - declined to comment, but a neighbour, who asked not to be named, told MailOnline: "It looked like he had been taking something like cocaine or ecstasy I think. He was behaving very strangely - actually it was quite frightening."
George was later released and Thames Valley Police confirmed they did not carry out any substance abuse tests and he faces no charges.

Adrienne Bailon insists she never wanted to be famous for being "someone's girlfriend".
The former 'Cheetah Girls' star caused a stir earlier this week, after she claimed dating Rob Kardashian hurt her career and she has now defended herself after her remarks were slammed by his sisters Kim and Khloe.
Taking to Instagram yesterday (31.07.14), she wrote: "Fame and a Career are two different things. I've always had a career. I've been working hard since I was 15 years old. Being someone's "girlfriend" was never what I wanted to be famous for. "
In a direct comment to Kim, she added: "What makes you "famous" isn't always what you want to be "labelled" as, or known for. If anyone should understand that... It should be you."
The 30-year-old singer also defended her comments regarding her ex-boyfriend Rob, who she dated from 2007 to 2009, insisting she didn't regret their relationship.
She added: "I also stated in the article that none of this would have stopped me from being that relationship. I just would have gone about it differently. You can love someone just as much in private. We all learn from our first loves."
Following the publication of Adrienne's interview in Latina magazine, Kim blasted her for "kicking her brother when he is down".
She also tweeted: "Funny how she says being with a Kardashian hurt her career yet the only reason she has this article is bc she is talking about a Kardashian (sic)"
Her sister Khloe Kardashian also joined in later tweeting: "thought her and I were cool SMH (sic)"
