Robin Williams had a trust in place for his children.
The 'Insomnia' actor - who was found dead in an apparent suicide yesterday (11.08.14) - set up a document in 2009 to look after the finances of his three kids, 31-year-old Zachary, 25-year-old Zelda and 22-year-old Cody but ensured they only received a monetary legacy in stages, and it wasn't dependent on his death.
According to website TMZ, when each of the children - who are from Robin's first two marriages - turned 21, they received a third of their settlement, and four years later were given half of what was left over.
So far, only Zachary has received his full share because the final installment is only handed over when the children turned 30.
It is unclear how much money is in the trust, but the website reports there is a "significant" amount outside of it and the 'Mrs. Doubtfire' star's third wife, Susan Schneider, will receive a large chunk.
Last year, the 'Hook' actor gave an interview in which he claimed he was selling his $35 million estate as his two divorces had left him on the brink of bankruptcy.
Meanwhile, Zelda has posted a touching tribute to her father on Instagram.
She posted a quote from 'The Little Prince' writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, which read: "You - you alone have the stars as no one else has them ... In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars are laughing, when you look at the sky at night. You - only you - will have stars that can laugh."
She added underneath the quotation: "I love you. I miss you. I'll try to keep looking up."

Kerry Katona's fiancé George Kay suffered the equivalent of three heart attacks after consuming a near-fatal cocktail of drugs.
The 34-year-old hunk was detained under the Mental Health Act last month after taking a concoction of steroids, sleeping pills and alcohol which resulted in him running around their Oxfordshire home shouting that someone was trying to kill him and feeling like he was being "fried from the inside".
George, who took steroids for six weeks in a bid to get the perfect body for his and Kerry's wedding, said: "I've suffered the equivalent of three heart attacks. The brain is so delicate and the doctors said it was a chemical imbalance.
"As far as I was concerned, I was just going to the gym. The only thing I remember is this weird feeling of being fried from the inside, the heat was incredible.
"I also felt like I was being watched, then the next thing I knew I was in the ambulance."
Kerry - who was unaware her fiancé was taking steroids - watched on as six police officers fought to pin George down during the episode, and the furious star admits part of her "hates" him and wants to "beat the s**t" out of him for putting her through such a stressful time.
When asked how she is feeling, the 33-year-old star - who suffers from bipolar disorder - told OK! magazine: "Tired, drained and exhausted; I feel like I've had the life sucked out of me.
"George's meltdown terrified me - I hate him a bit for putting me through it. I've never been so scared in my whole life and I'm worried sick. I want to beat the s**t out of him for putting me through this.
"I didn't realise how serious steroid use is, or the effect they can have. It's put huge pressure on his heart and I nearly lost him - he swears he'll never touch steroids again.
"One minute I'm emotional and so upset at the thought of losing him and the next I'm so f***ing angry at him for doing it. I just want everything back to normal and to make sure he's OK."
Kerry has children Molly 13, Lilly Sue, 11, Heidi, seven, and six-year-old Max from previous relationships as well as three-month-old daughter Dylan-George with George, but she insists she isn't concerned about him suffering a similar episode with her kids around.

Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian are reportedly refusing to film their reality show after a trio of thefts.
The sisters are said to be reluctant to shoot scenes for the 10th series of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' until someone is caught following the latest incident when Kourtney and Scott Disick had more than $4,000 in cash stolen from the bedroom of their Hamptons property last month.
Family sources have told TMZ that the trio believe the thefts, which include $250,000 in jewellery stolen from Khloe's house and $50,000 from Kourtney's home, could be an inside job.
Kim, Khloe and Kourtney are due to start filming the next series of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' in October and have enlisted extra security staff in an attempt to catch the thief.
Following the latest incident, Scott - who has kids Mason, four, and Penelope, two with Kourtney - complained to Southampton Town Police on the afternoon of July 8 and alleged that between July 1-4, an "unknown person did unlawfully remove" his and Kourtney's $4,000 cash "from an attaché case that was stored in a bedroom".
The case is currently being classified as a felony offence, third-degree grand larceny, and is still being investigated, Detective Michael Smith told RadarOnline.com.

Sarah Michelle Gellar says Robin Williams was the "father she dreamed of having".
The 37-year-old actress - who has children Charlotte, four, and Rocky, 22 months with husband Freddie Prinze Jr. - has paid an emotional tribute to her 'The Crazy Ones' co-star, who was found dead in an apparent suicide yesterday (11.08.14).
She told People: "My life is a better place because I knew Robin Williams. To my children he was Uncle Robin, to everyone he worked with, he was the best boss anyone had ever known, and to me he was not just an inspiration but he was the father I had always dreamed of having.
"There are not enough adjectives to describe the light he was, to anyone that ever had the pleasure to meet him. I will miss him everyday, but I know the memory of him will live on. And to his family, I thank them for letting us know him and seeing the joy they brought him. Us crazy ones love you."
Several crew members who worked with the actor on the CBS show - which was cancelled in May after just one season - have praised how kind he was to everyone on the programme.
One source said: "He was so benevolent. He would appreciate everyone else's work. He was the first one to say how incredible Sarah and [costar] Jimmy Wolk were. He had affection for everyone. He made sure everyone knew he was part of a team. Who does that? When you're Robin you don't have to do that."
And the programme's creator, David E. Kelley, has paid tribute to the actor's "kindness and humanity", as well as his "legendary" talent.
He said in a statement: "The talent was legendary. But equally inspiring, perhaps more so, was his kindness and humanity. A gentle soul who touched us all. A very special man, and our hearts are broken."

Emma Stone is in talks to make her Broadway debut.
The 'Amazing Spider-Man' actress is in negotiations to star opposite Alan Cumming in 'Cabaret' on the New York stage, and would take the lead role of Sally Bowles.
A production spokesperson told Broadway.com: "[Emma is] in negotiations to make her Broadway debut as Sally Bowles in Cabaret on Broadway."
If she lands the role, the 'Easy A' actress will take over from Michelle Williams when the 'My Week With Marilyn' star's stint comes to an end in November.
The 25-year-old actress was previously in discussions for the production in April 2013, but was unable to accept the part because of her movie commitments.
The musical is currently scheduled to run until January 2015.
Emma has previously admitted working in improvised theatre as a child helped her overcome crippling anxiety.
She has said: "The reason I went into my job is because it gives you an outlet for all these emotions. My first-grade teacher put me in my first play because I had the jazz hands in me. A year later, I had my first panic attack. I mean, I had really, really bad anxiety as a kid, and improv (improvisation) was kind of my saviour."

Julia Roberts isn't "ambitious".
The 'Pretty Woman' actress - who has twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, nine, and son Henry, seven, with husband Danny Moder - insists she has never harboured a grudge against anyone who landed roles she wanted, even when she was struggling for her career to take off.
She said: "I always feel like there is room for everybody. I don't consider myself really all that ambitious. When I didn't get a part - even when I was younger and needing to pay my rent - I would think, 'Oh, someone else got it. She's going to be so good.' I never felt sour grapes."
After starring in 'Pretty Woman' with Richard Gere, Julia, 46, struggled to match the success of the movie with her subsequent projects and went on to turn down a role that went on to do just as well as her breakout film - a part in 'Sleepless in Seattle' which went to Meg Ryan.
Despite missing out, the actress doesn't think she would have made the role her own in the way that Meg did.
She told America's InStyle magazine: "I'd been offered 'Sleepless in Seattle' but couldn't do it.
"[Meg Ryan] and Tom Hanks are just such a jewel of a fit in that. I guess what they did for that moment in time is sort of what Richard and I were doing across town [in 'Pretty Woman'], you know?"
