Ricky Gervais: Robin Williams was a lovely man

Ricky Gervais has paid tribute to the late Robin Williams, describing the comic as "one of the loveliest men" he's ever met.
The 53-year-old star was saddened by the news of Robin's suicide on Monday (11.08.14) at the age of 63.
Ricky appeared with Robin in the 'Night at the Museum' movies and admits he'll never forget the man's wonderful sense of humour.
During an interview on 'This Morning, the former 'Office' actor said: "It's really sad, he's one of the loveliest men I've ever met. "Even when he wasn't well, he would just try his best to make you laugh - you could see it was a chore, almost, but he'd absolutely love it."
Despite his incredible success as stand-up and in Hollywood, Ricky insists Robin never lost his passion for comedy and especially new comics.
He recalled: "I did a benefit gig with him (Robin) and there were loads of new comedians that we hadn't heard of, and he spent the whole night at the side of the stage watching them - you could hear him laughing louder than anyone - and they were just blown away. He was a legend. Amazing. It's really sad."
Since Robin's passing tributes have flooded in from his peers and fans, President Barack Obama, Ben Stiller and Russell Brand among the stars to remember him.
Ben Affleck - who starred alongside Robin in 'Good Will Hunting', the film Ben co-wrote with Matt Damon and which earned the late star the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor - wrote on Facebook: "Thanks chief - for your friendship and for what you gave the world. Robin had a ton of love in him. He personally did so much for so many people. He made [Matt Damon] and my dreams come true. What do you owe a guy who does that? Everything. May you find peace my friend. #RobinWilliams. (sic)"

Rita Ora fancies Justin Bieber

Rita Ora fancies Justin Bieber.
The 23-year-old singer has admitted she likes how the 'Never Say Never' hitmaker - who was blamed for triggering the end of her relationship with Calvin Harris after they reportedly became "affectionate" in the studio - has "evolved" into a man since shooting to fame.
When asked by TV presenter Miquita Oliver on 4Music show 'Rock the Look with Rimmel London' if she fancies the 20-year-old pop star, she replied: "Who doesn't?"
She then added: "I like how he's evolved, he's growing up, he's doing his thing.
"I like his stance and how he carries himself."
Her comments will add fuel to the rumours that Justin may have been partly responsible for Calvin and Rita's split after she and the pop star reportedly grew close during their time in the studio earlier this year.
A source told TMZ at the time: "Word got back to Calvin, Justin and Rita got touchy feely with each other while they were in the recording studio together over the last few months.
"Calvin heard they were very affectionate - she would sit on his lap [and] he would rub her back."
Elsewhere on 'Rock the Look with Rimmel London', Rita was asked by Little Mix how she manages to keep her blonde locks looking so good and the star revealed she often wears a wig while she is on stage to protect her own tresses.
She added: "To save your own hair, wigs are literally the way forward. I love dressing up but you always have to remember your own hair isn't as strong as not real hair.
"I have 20 wigs at home that I play with. When I perform I usually wear wigs because I love them."
'Rock the Look with Rimmel London' ft. Rita Ora airs on Wednesday (13.08.14) at 5pm on 4Music.

Ciara calls off engagement

Ciara has called off her engagement to Future.
The 28-year-old singer has reportedly split from the 30-year-old rapper - who proposed to the star on her 28th birthday in October - following allegations he was unfaithful to her, just three months after she gave birth to their first son Future Zahir Wilburn.
An insider told Us magazine: "He cheated on her. Game over."
Another source added: "She's devastated. Ciara's focus now is the baby."
The claim comes just one month after she heaped praise on Future - who she started dating in 2012 - describing him as her "best friend".
The singer told the August-September issue of Brides magazine: "I knew right away that he was different. Now he's my best friend in the world, my partner."
Ciara also spoke about her wedding plans ahead of the pair's proposed nuptials as she had already sorted out her colour scheme and made her bridesmaids choices.
She added: "For my wedding, I'm going to do elegance with a little edge.
"There will be five or six [bridesmaids] and two matrons of honour [including La La Anthony]. They'll all wear the same colour, but in different styles to suit their personalities."

Melanie Griffith looking forward to freedom following split

Melanie Griffith is looking forward to being "completely free" following her split from Antonio Banderas.
The 57-year-old actress filed for divorce from the 'Expendables 3' star in June after 18 years of marriage, and insists she is excited about what lies ahead in her life now that she can do what she wants.
She said: "Over the last years, I've devoted myself to my family, and that was it. But now, I'm completely free. So I'm determinate to do only what I want from now on, and none is going to stop me."
Melanie - who has 17-year-old daughter Stella with Antonio - plays alcoholic Sue in new short film 'Thirst' and the star admits she felt a "special connection" with her alter-ego because of her own battles with alcohol addiction.
Speaking to Spanish magazine Lecturas at the premiere of 'Thirst' at Locarno's Film Festival, she said: "I'm an alcoholic in a recovery phase, and I've been struggling with this problem for the last five years. So, obviously, I felt a special connection with this character."
According to a petition filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court, the couple cited irreconcilable differences as a reason for their split, but the 54-year-old actor refuses to discuss their divorce proceedings because he and Melanie struck a deal to not comment about the details in public.
He told Spanish website Vanitatis: "I have an agreement with Melanie, a pact. We have agreed to not talk or comment our divorce at all. That's our deal and, therefore, I'm not going to say a thing about her."

Barbra Streisand leads Lauren Bacall tributes

Barbra Streisand has paid tribute to her "wise and loving friend" Lauren Bacall.
The 89-year-old actress passed away yesterday (12.08.14) after suffering a massive stroke and her friend, who played her daughter in 'The Mirror Has Two Faces', has led the messages of remembrance for the Hollywood legend.
She said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly: "What a terrible loss for us all. First Robin [Williams] who was a genius and now Lauren. It was my privilege to have known her, to have acted with her, and to have directed her. And, most of all, to have had her as a wise and loving friend.
"She was an original. Even with all those great films we can visit again and again, she will be missed."
And Barbra wasn't the only former co-star to pay tribute to the icon.
Her 'Misery' co-star James Caan said: "She was a great, uplifting lady who was full of talent and fun. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with her. I will miss her dearly."
Lauren voiced a character in 'Family Guy' earlier this year and show creator Seth MacFarlane feels "honoured and privileged" that it was her last role.
He said: "Lauren Bacall's life is a life to be celebrated. I am told her last performance was on 'Family Guy'. For that we are forever honoured and privileged. Thank you, Lauren, for teaching us all how to whistle."
Jenny McCarthy shared a picture of herself with the actress in their 1990 movie 'Diamonds' as she paid tribute on Twitter.
She wrote: "I had the amazing opportunity to work with Lauren Bacall in the movie Diamonds. She was one of a kind. #legend #RIP.(sic)"
Meanwhile, burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese spoke of her awe when she came face-to-face with Lauren.
She tweeted: "Sad to hear we've lost one of the last legends of the Golden Age of Hollywood. I met Lauren Bacall once... a serious "pinch me!" moment!"
Kris Jenner was another famous face to pay tribute, using one of her favourite quotes from the legendary star.
She wrote: ""Imagination is the highest kite one can fly." Another legend lost today. Rest in Peace Lauren Bacall.(sic)"

Rupert Grint ‘plays along’ with Sheeran confusion

Rupert Grint "plays along" when he is mistaken for Ed Sheeran.
The 'Harry Potter' actor insists he doesn't mind when fans think he is the flame-haired singer and is happy to accept compliments on his chart success.
He told Match of the Day magazine: "People think I'm Ed Sheeran. They compliment me on my music career and I just play along with it! It's never too bad, you get the odd person staring at you but it's pretty manageable."
The 25-year-old actor famously owns an ice cream van but no longer drives it because real vendors get "territorial" when he arrives in their areas.
He admitted: "'Before I started Harry Potter, my main career ambition was to be an ice-cream man. In fact I bought an ice-cream van as my first car!
"I don't drive it much because real ice-cream men get pretty territorial, and even if I just take it to Tesco it's amazing how many people start queuing up to buy ice-creams."
Rupert has previously admitted even other celebrities have mistaken him for Ed.
He said: ''[Do we get mixed up?] Yes of course, a lot. People get confused all the time. One time I was at this Formula One race and Leo Sayer was there. There was definitely a kind of confusion because he came up to me and said how much he liked my music.''

Calvin Harris slams Rita Ora

Calvin Harris has slammed his ex-girlfriend Rita Ora in a furious Twitter rant.
The fuming DJ took to the social networking site to hit out at the 23-year-old singer after she confirmed the Scottish star had blocked her performance of latest single, 'I Will Never Let You Down', which he wrote and produced, at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday (10.08.14)
Calvin - who dated Rita for a year - tweeted: "You'll only know 1 side of the story RE Teen choice awards because I choose not to talk to the papers about every aspect of my personal life (sic)"
He followed that message up with another tweet insisting his decision to not allow Rita to sing the tune at the Los Angeles ceremony was justified.
He wrote: "But just know I had a damn good reason (sic)"
Calvin, 30, then tweeted a picture of a hand-clapping emoticon, appearing to signal he was sarcastically applauding Rita for her comments.
The beauty confirmed on Tuesday (12.08.14) that Calvin had refused her permission to sing the song at the event.
She told 'On Air with Ryan Seacrest': "For anybody who doesn't understand how it works, he wrote and produced the song. So he has to approve anything TV-wise for anybody who doesn't get it. And obviously he owns the rights to it and he didn't approve the Teen Choice Awards."
But Rita, who had been planning her performance for "about a month," claimed she wasn't shocked by Calvin's "last minute change" of heart.
She said: "I could have got told a few weeks earlier, you know. That would have been nice. It was a last minute change, but you know what, it happens and we move on and move forward ... It is what it is, man. You know, you write a song with somebody, and I guess there's some stuff that comes with it ... Everything happens for a reason, that's how I look at it."
It's not the first time Rita has angered one of her ex-boyfriends leading to them taking to Twitter to hit back at her.
In 2012, sock designer Rob Kardashian took to the social networking site to rant about his failed romance with the 'Hot Right Now' pop star and alleged she cheated on him with 20 men.
He wrote: "She cheated on me with nearly 20 dudes while we were together... But I mean 20?!!!! (sic)"

Matt Damon: Robin Williams brought joy into my life

Matt Damon has paid tribute to Robin Williams for bringing "so much joy" into his life.
The 43-year-old actor has spoken out about his relationship with his 'Good Will Hunting' co-star following the news that he took his own life at his home in California on Monday (11.08.14) after suffering from depression.
Matt said in a statement: "Robin brought so much joy into my life and I will carry that joy with me forever. He was such a beautiful man. I was lucky to know him and I will never, ever forget him."
Robin - who died from asphyxiation due to hanging - had struggled with alcohol addiction for decades and is said to have attended an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meeting the day before his death.
He's said to have suffered with depression and money troubles following his divorces from former wives Valerie Velardi and Marsha Garces, and Matt has also requested that Robin's widower Susan Schneider and his children Zak, Zelda and Cody be given the space they need to come to terms with their loss.
He added: "I truly hope the people in the media can find it within themselves to give his family some privacy during this horrible time."
Meanwhile, Ben Affleck - who also starred in 'Good Will Hunting' - has also paid tribute to the 'Mrs. Doubtfire' star.
In a statement on his Facebook page, he wrote: "Heartbroken. Thanks chief - for your friendship and for what you gave the world. Robin had a ton of love in him. He personally did so much for so many people. He made Matt and my dreams come true. What do you owe a guy who does that? Everything. May you find peace my friend. #RobinWilliams (sic)."

Chloe Grace Moretz won’t be brought down

Chloe Grace Moretz won't let anything "bring her down".
The 17-year-old actress can relate to her 'If I Stay' character, cellist Mia Hall, because they both found their "passion" in life at a young age and won't let anything stand in the way of their career ambitions.
She said: "One of the first things that I was able to justify and connect with on a personal level with Mia was her passion for music and how she found it at eight years old.
"I found acting when I was five years old so we both kind of had these careers that we chose ourselves to kind of follow and follow our dreams.
"We're kind of the ones that try to stay on track. We're the ones to tell ourselves to keep going and to not let anything bring you down or change you."
And the 'Kick-Ass' actress - who is rumoured to be dating Brooklyn Beckham - insisted her career will always come before her personal life.
She added to E! News: "We wouldn't give up on our one true love.
"No matter how much we love a guy or how much we love whoever else, we care the most about what we found first and what our one true love was first."
