Mariah Carey has reportedly turned to Brett Ratner for support following her split from Nick Cannon.
The 44-year-old singer has allegedly been spending a lot of time with the film director, 45, to help take her mind off the breakdown of her six-year marriage.
A source told the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "They speak frequently."
Mariah and Brett struck up a friendship after he directed her music videos for 'Heartbreaker' and 'We Belong Together' and have remained close ever since.
The 'Hero' hitmaker joined Brett at the premiere of 'Hercules', which he directed, in July and it's believed the pair also holidayed together in Aspen in December.
Meanwhile, Nick confirmed he'd split from Mariah in August following months of their relationship being on the rocks, but insisted their main priority at the moment is their three-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe.
He said at the time: "There is trouble in paradise. We have been living in separate houses for a few months. My main focus is my kids."
Friends believed cracks started to appear in the pair's relationship when Nick, 33, revealed that he'd previously slept with five famous women, including Kim Kardashian West, during an appearance on a radio show in March, which left Mariah feeling "humiliated."
However, the 'America's Got Talent' host took to Twitter earlier this month to silence rumours and insist he will always love and support Mariah.
He tweeted: "I will always love her unconditionally for this and so much more. @MariahCarey is an amazing Mother and I trust her wholeheartedly... (sic)."
He added: "So to see false reports in the media stating otherwise is absurd! While I would like to remain silent I can no longer allow this to happen. (sic)."

Russell Brand has allegedly split from Jemima Khan.
The 40-year-old heiress reportedly dumped the 39-year-old comedian, who is known as a notorious lothario, last month following just a year of dating.
A source told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: "The relationship has simply run its course."
The pair also added fuel to the fire after it became apparent that they'd 'unfollowed' each other on Twitter, which is unusual for the brunette beauty as she usually remains close friends with her former flames.
Earlier this year, Russell - who split from Katy Perry in 2011 after 14 months of marriage - bragged about his "very different" relationship with Jemima and said he couldn't be happier with their fast-moving romance.
He said at the time: "'I'm going to be really kind in this relationship.
"I haven't been out there trying to nail everyone. 'I'm very, very happy in a relationship that feels very different from anything I've experience before.
"I feel like its grounded in friendship and a sort of love and it's all well cool and exciting and stuff, but it feels different for me."
Meanwhile, Jemima has two teenage sons Sulaiman and Kasim with her ex-husband Imran Khan and has previously dated hunky actor Hugh Grant.

Nick Jonas and Patrick Schwarzenegger celebrated their birthday at the same venue on Friday (19.09.14).
The 22-year-old singer and the 21-year-old model marked their annual milestones separately at the celebrity hot spot Hakkasan in Nevada, Las Vegas.
Nick, who was dressed in a navy striped blazer and white T-shirt, was joined by his girlfriend Olivia Culpo as he partied the night away with his close friends.
Taking to his Instagram account after the celebration, he posted a picture of his huge birthday cake, which was made to look like it was made out of televisions, and thanked the venue for hosting his party.
He wrote: "Birthday in #Vegas thanks #Hakkasan for the Bday love @oliviaculpo (sic)."
Meanwhile, Patrick, the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger, celebrated his birthday with a smaller cake, but still looked impressed with the calorific treat, which had been made out of blue icing with a big "21" stuck on the top, as he grinned for the camera.
The hunk even had a go at spinning some tunes on the decks in the DJ booth as he attempted to keep his celebrations low-key with a number of his pals.
However, the actor admitted the next day that he was suffering as a result of the previous wild antics.
Taking to his Twitter account on Saturday, he tweeted: "Woahhhh. Feeling it today. (sic)."

Chris Martin has "fallen in love" with Jennifer Lawrence.
The Coldplay frontman, who split from Gwyneth Paltrow in March after 10 years of marriage, has reportedly told friends his romance with 'The Hunger Games' actress is "the real deal."
A source close to the couple, who started dating in June after the 24-year-old beauty attended one of his concerts in London, told Us Weekly magazine: "He's fallen in love. It's the real deal."
Jennifer has reportedly had a crush on the British rocker, 37, since she was a teenager.
Another insider said: "It's a fantasy come true."
The duo were recently spotted enjoying a romantic date at the Chateau Marmont hotel in West Hollywood last Thursday (11.09.14).
An eyewitness said: "They made out at the table."
A source previously revealed that Chris - who has children Apple, 10, and Moses, eight, with Gwyneth - pulled out all of the stops to romance Jennifer and has been writing love songs for her.
The insider said: "He writes her songs and loves taking her to private romantic spots. Chris is sweeping Jen off her feet. That's his thing."

Tom Hardy has married Charlotte Riley in a secret ceremony.
The 'This Means War' actor tied the knot with his partner in front of "their closest friends and family" at 18th century castle Chateau de Roussan in Province in July.
An insider told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "It was a beautiful, low-key day made even more special because they just had their closest friends and family around them.
"Tom's son Louis [from his relationship with Rachael Speed] played a key role in the ceremony.
"And they made certain to pic a stunning and private setting. The castle is in the centre of Provence and overlooks the Alps."
The secret nuptials took place on July 4, and the couple are said to have shunned a "flash" and wedding in favour of something much more intimate.
The source added: "Both sides of the family then stayed on as guests afterwards in the hotel.
"There was nothing flash about the wedding, they always said they wanted it to be about the two of them and their family rather than any grand gesture."

Zayn Malik was shocked when a fan fainted at his touch.
The One Direction heart throb has admitted he wasn't prepared for the fanaticism the band would be faced with early in their careers - after finished third on 'The X Factor' in 2010 - and he was stunned when one avid supporter "literally dropped to the floor" after meeting her hero.

Simon Cowell and Cara Delevingne have held secret talks about her music career.
The media mogul is said to see the model - who previously gave up a deal with the 'X Factor' boss' rival Simon Fuller - as a potentially huge star and while a contract hasn't been offered, the two parties have been having private meetings.
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "Simon reckons Cara has the chance to make them both money.
"His people haven't offered her a record deal but have been interested in talking to her."
According to the reports, Cara is keen to develop her career naturally rather than use Syco Records as a fast-track to the top - which would see her get a lot of exposure on the likes of 'The X Factor' UK and 'Britain's Got Talent'.
Meanwhile, it is said while the pair have met, they were "informal" and no deal is on the table as of yet.
An insider added: "There were a couple of informal meetings earlier in the year."
It was recently claimed the Burberry model launched her music career in a "dive pub" in New York.
During the solo gig, Cara reportedly sang several original tracks along with a set of covers, which she performed acoustically at the small venue.

Perez Hilton thinks Kim Kardashian West is "out of control."
The acid-tongued gossip blogger slammed the reality TV star and insisted he doesn't expect her marriage to Kanye West - with who she has 14-month-old daughter North - will last, though he does expect them to have another child.
He told Closer magazine: "Her fame is out of control now she's with Kanye. Kim's desperate for another baby and they'll probably last until she gets that.
"She's smart enough to know that you need to have at least two children to get as much money as possible!
"As we know, Hollywood couples never last the course - there are too many egos involved!"
The father-of-one explained his pessimism about the longevity of Kim's fame, suggesting that people are losing interest in the 33-year-old beauty and shifting their attention to her younger half-sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner
He added: "Kendall and Kylie are the future. People are interested in their edgy style and crazy antics.
"Kim, Kourtney and Khloe are simmering with jealousy! The whole thing's bound to end in a massive bitch fight!"

Big Sean is reportedly jealous of Harry Styles.
The 26-year-old rapper wants the One Direction star to stay away from his girlfriend, Ariana Grande, and hates that they have stayed in touch since working on the song 'Just A Little Bit of Your Heart' together.
A source told America's OK! magazine: "Big Sean doesn't like it that Harry's been wooing her. He wants Harry to back off and leave Ariana alone."
The British singer, 20, penned the track especially for the 21-year-old beauty earlier this year.
Big Sean recently insisted he and Ariana have "great chemistry."
He said: "Me and her make a lot of music together and the chemistry between me and her when we work is great.
"We got more in the works too. I feel like her voice is crazy, [just] that that big voice comes out of her is insane. I was probably one of the first people to tweet about her music; me and her been friends for years before anything else...
"I was the first rapper to perform at the White House, I performed there with Ariana so that was an honour."
The couple's romance, which began two months ago, came as a shock to fans as Big Sean - whose real name is Sean Anderson - only ended his five-month engagement to 'Glee' actress Naya Rivera in April this year.
