Gerard Depardieu’s troubled teenage years

Gerard Depardieu was a grave robber, "thug" and rent boy before finding fame.
The 65-year-old French actor discussed his impoverished upbringing in his new autobiography, 'Sa S'est Fait Comme Ça' or 'That's the Way it Was', and claimed he would wander the streets of his hometown Châteauroux from the age of 10, knowing he could pass for 15 and that gay men found him attractive.
He wrote: "I've known since I was very young that I please homosexuals... I would ask them for money."
At 16, he was jailed for three weeks for stealing a car and then moved to Paris, where he remained involved in criminal behaviour.
He admitted: "At 20, the thug in me was alive and kicking.
"I would rip some of them off. I would beat up some bloke and leave with all his money."
The 'Green Card' actor also admitted helping a man dig up newly-buried bodies in the cemetery and steal jewellery and shoes from them, and recalled picking the pockets of students taking part in anti-government protests in 1968 while they slept on the streets between rows with police.
Elsewhere in the book, Gerard recalled how his mother repeatedly attempted to induce a miscarriage while pregnant with him.
He wrote: "I survived all the violence that my poor mother inflicted on herself with knitting needles and things.
"The third child that she didn't want, was me, Gerard. I survived."
It was recently revealed the 'Cyrano de Bergerac' star drinks 14 bottles of wine a day and he puts his staggering alcohol intake down to a "phobia" of things going wrong with his body.
He explained: "I'm obsessed with the racket in my body, the beating of my heart, the gurgling of my intestines, my joints cracking.
"It's become a phobia to the point that if I'm alone in a hotel I must drink so as not to hear it, so as not to go mad from it. I can't get to sleep unless I am dead drunk."

Jack Osbourne has been named Inspiration of the Year by the MS Society.
The 28-year-old star - who was diagnosed with the degenerative condition in 2012 - said it was a "true honour and privilege" to be recognised by the charity at their annual awards ceremony and stressed his intention to continually raise awareness of the disease.
He said in a video message: "Thank you very much to the MS Society for awarding me the inspiration 2014 award, it is a true honour and a privilege.
"When I got diagnosed with MS two years ago, for me it was never about getting awards or turning up to galas, it was about coming to the realisation I was going to have this disease for the rest of my life and I was determined to be as vocal and loud as possible to let people know that this exists and it effects millions of people daily."
And Jack - who has two-year-old daughter Pearl with wife Lisa Stelly - went on to stress how the condition not only affects sufferers but their loved ones too.
He added: "The MS society has done wonders for providing resources, information and financial support to the many ,many people affected by this disease - not only the sufferers, but the family members, because at the end of the day, when I have a bad day, so does my wife.
"So don't worry you're not alone, and the more people who know about this, the better. we shall not give up, the fight shall continue.

Blake Lively is pregnant

Blake Lively is pregnant.
The former 'Gossip Girl' star announced the happy news that she and husband Ryan Reynolds are expecting their first child via a picture of her cradling her growing bump on her lifestyle website Preserve.
Alongside a selection of pictures of pregnant women, the website stated: "Preserve at its core is about family. 'Family' is the single word our founder, Blake built this home on.
"We have something for men, for women, for the old, but we realised, we don't have anything for the new. With family on our mind, we looked to the origin of it all--to the women in our lives who are right there, at that special moment; at the creation of family.
"Today we celebrate them. With food to fill their tummies (as if that needs more filling), presents to soothe their tired (and swollen) soles, toys to warm their baby's souls, projects to provoke them, and decorations to inspire creativity and merriment in all.
"We had too much fun with this. Because there's so much to share, we break up our first ever Preserve Celebration into multiple parts. In the upcoming days we will bring even more treats and fun. The entire next month will be sprinkled with highlights for women in this exciting chapter of their lives. Congratulations to all the expecting mothers out there. And thank you for being a part of our Preserve family."
The post then closed with the picture of Blake - who married Ryan in September 2012 - taken by her brother Eric.

A source at Prince's school, The Buckley School, told RadarOnline.com: "When Prince started dating his girlfriend Nikita Bess last year, 6-7 bodyguards showed up at her house and tried bullying her and her family into signing confidentiality agreements.
"They do it with all of the girls that Prince dates because the family is so secretive!"
It was previously revealed Prince is "in love" with Nikita and has even given her a promise ring.
A source said: "He wants to be with her forever and the family adores her."

The 'Iron Man 3' actress has hailed new CEO Lisa Gersh as a "visionary leader" to take her company ahead in the future.
She added: "She's the perfect person to build on the momentum we have already created at Goop, and to diversify our opportunities to bring Goop's positive energy directly to consumers in what they read, what they try, what they buy and how they live."
Lisa - who was CEO and president of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia for less than a year until February 2013 - replaces Seb Bishop in the role after he suddenly quit in April, soon after Gwyneth and her husband Chris Martin announced their separation through the Goop newsletter.
And the businesswoman is thrilled to be working alongside the 42-year-old actress.
She said: "As a fan since its launch, I've admired the inimitable voice and style Gwyneth has infused into Goop, and the business she's built.
"It's rare to work with such an inspired founder and a digitally native company, a brand that thinks digitally from an organic point-of-view and successfully fuses content and revenue-generating retail."
And Lisa's appointment comes just a month after her former boss criticised Gwyneth for her lifestyle company.
Martha said: "She just needs to be quiet. She's a movie star.
"If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn't be trying to be Martha Stewart."

Elizabeth Hurley urges women to get checked for breast cancer

Elizabeth Hurley "bullies" her friends into getting screened for breast cancer.
The 49-year-old actress - whose grandmother passed away from the disease in 1992 - believes it is vital to undergo regular mammograms and often pays for her pals to have the potentially life-saving checks.
She said:"I bully all my friends and families to check their own breasts every month and to have an annual mammogram if over 40. I have given mammograms to friends who can't afford one for their birthdays."
Elizabeth admits her grandmother was "frightened" to speak out when she first found a lump in her breast and thinks education on the disease was very limited at the time.
Talking to The Times newspaper about her grandmother's death, she said: "At that time, there was so little written about breast cancer. The pink ribbon had yet to be invented and the words 'breast cancer' were only whispered.
"My late grandmother hadn't told anyone about the lump she'd found in her breast for some time as she was frightened. Finally, she plucked up courage to tell her doctor but by this time it had grown significantly and the cancer had spread. She underwent a double mastectomy but it was too late and she died soon after."
Following her grandmother's tragic death, Elizabeth then started a campaign with Evelyn Lauder for the Estee Lauder Companies' Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.
She shared: "It wasn't until I started to learn about breast cancer through Evelyn Lauder that I began to feel so angry that I hadn't known more at the time, when perhaps I could have helped [my grandmother]."
