Chrissy Teigen has quit Twitter.
The 28-year-old model, the wife of John Legend, has left the social networking site after she received a string of online abuse following her tweet about the shooting in Ottawa, Canada - which left one solider and the alleged gunman dead - yesterday (22.10.14).
Announcing her decision to leave the website, she tweeted today (23.10.14): "I feel sick. Bye Twitter. Taking my talents to instagram. (sic)."
The brunette beauty became the target on Twitter last night after she raised the issue of US gun crime.
She wrote: "active shooting in Canada, or as we call it in america, wednesday.
"That's not a joke. It is a fact. (sic)."
She added: "Sorry you don't understand that is a knock at america and our issues with gun control. No one is minimizing the Ottawa shooting.
"I'm not apologizing. If you take it wrong, that is your fault."
She continued: "For some reason, Canadians think I am saying they have a lot of shootings. I am not saying that. Sigh.
"I've lost faith in this world. Sorry if it comes off as being unemotional. There is just so much bad. (sic)."
Meanwhile, Chrissy previously admitted she's no stranger to landing herself in hot water on the internet.
She said last year: "I mean, I'm very much in the heat of the moment and I say things that I'm feeling and then I'm like, 'Why did I do that? I regret things all the time. I've never regretted not saying something. I've only regretted saying something."

Nick Jonas is reportedly planning to propose to Olivia Culpo by the end of the year.
The former Jonas Brothers singer is keen to pop the question to the brunette beauty, 22, whom he has been dating since August 2013, before 2015 kicks in.
A source told the US' OK! Magazine: "Nick has told everyone that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. They are obsessed with each other and he has even said that he wants to ask her to marry him by the New Year!"
However, the hunky star, 22, already has a busy rest of the year ahead of him as he is to release his self-titled debut album on November 11, and his friends believe it is just the first of many for his blossoming solo career.
The source said: "This [album] is just the beginning for Nick! He is on Cloud 9 right now."
Meanwhile, Nick's pals are adamant he won't suffer the same consequences of fame as Amanda Bynes and Lindsay Lohan because he's more focused on his health and well-being since being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of just 13.
The insider explained: "Nick is just way to grounded for that. He takes immaculate care of his health and he has to because of his condition."

Bruce Jenner reportedly doesn't care how Kris Jenner feels about rumours he's dating her best friend.
The 58-year-old matriarch is believed to be devastated following the news her estranged husband, whom she split from last year, is now dating her pal Ronda Kamihira but the Olympic gold medallist isn't interested in the 'Keeping Up With the Kardashian's star's opinion.
A source told PEOPLE: "Bruce isn't really concerned with her feelings about it. But Kris is devastated. Ronda was her best friend of 20 years."
Rumours that Bruce had started dating again began to swirl earlier this month when he and Ronda were spotted at a Sir Elton John concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles at the beginning of October.
The news came as a shock to Kris, who filed for divorce from Bruce in September, as friends believe she was heartbroken by the claims her former beau had moved on so quickly after 22 years of marriage.
The source said earlier this month: "She's so sad and completely heartbroken."
However, Kris, who has daughters Kendall, 18, and Kylie, 17, with Bruce, has been putting on a brave face and insisting she just wants the ex-athlete to be happy.
She last week: "I don't know who he's dating. He doesn't like check in with me and give me a play-by-play, but it's his life, and you just want the guy to be happy. You know, he's still the father of two of my children. We're friends."

Keira Knightley is to make her Broadway debut next year.
The 29-year-old actress is set to appear as a beautiful but doomed heroine in the stage adaptation of Emile Zola's novel 'Thérèse Raquin,' from October, 1, 2015, the Roundabout Theatre Company have announced.
The production is to be directed by Evan Cabnet and will be based on the story about a woman trapped in a failed marriage, who strikes up an illicit affair with her husband's best friend.
The novel, which was published in 1867, was turned into a film starring Simone Signoret in 1953, and was then taken and adapted again for the movie 'In Secret', starring Elizabeth Olsen, last year.
Meanwhile, Keira made her West End debut in 2009 when she starred in the comedy 'The Misanthrope,' before taking to the stage just two years later for Lillian Hellman's 'The Children's Hour.'
The stunning star was last seen in the romantic film 'Begin Again,' and will next feature on the big screen for 'Everest', also starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Josh Brolin and Sam Worthington, which will be released in 2015.

Chris Evans has sparked rumours he's dating Minka Kelly again.
The 'Captain America' hunk, 33, and the 34-year-old actress, who have had an on/off relationship since 2007, were spotted picking up food from Hugo's Tacos in Los Angeles together on Tuesday (21.10.14).
An eyewitness told E! News: "Chris stayed in the car while Minka picked up the order. It was just a friendly lunch."
The pair ended their relationship last October following 13 months of dating after their conflicting work schedules put a strain on their romance, but it was believed at the time that the duo were keen to reunite when long-distance was no longer a factor for them.
A source said last year: "It didn't make sense for them to be together right now."
However, a friend previously revealed that they were trying to take their relationship slowly last year because 'The Avengers' star Chris, who was previously linked to Jessica Biel, was hurt when Minka suddenly ended their brief romance seven years ago.
The insider said previously: "She did a number on him back then. But she reached out to Chris this time. He's still a little insecure, so he's being cautious."
Meanwhile, Chris has been linked to his childhood crush Sandra Bullock after they were spotted out together on a number of occasions, but the 50-year-old actress laughed off the rumours in June.
She joked at the time: "You guys are a little behind. We've since married and it started breaking apart, so we separated. We filed for divorce, and I hope everyone can respect our privacy.
"But we're going to remain friends and share responsibility of the farm animals we've taken on, because you just can't abandon the animals."

However, it appears the 'Hunger Games' star doesn't really need to change up her look to fit in with her new beau as Chris' friends already approve of the beauty and believe she's a better match for him than his estranged wife Gwyneth Paltrow, whom he split from in March following 10 years of marriage.
A source said previously: "Although Jennifer is different from Gwyneth, both girls are earthy. They like to play and act silly at times. Chris is happy because he and Jennifer are on the same wavelength."
It's not just Chris' pals who have grown to like Jennifer as Gwyneth, who has daughter Apple, 10, and son Moses, eight, with Chris, also gets along with her.
An insider said two months ago: "Her take is, 'Hey, he could do worse.' She just wants him to be happy."

Tracy Morgan is still "traumatised" following his car crash in New Jersey in June.
The former '30 Rock' star is still trying to get over the shock of losing his friend James 'Jimmy Mack' McNair, 62, in the accident in which a Walmart truck smashed into the limo bus they were passengers in.
Fellow comedian Chris Rock, who stars in his new movie 'Top Five' alongside Tracy, told USA Today of his friend: "He's OK. I saw him not too long ago. He doesn't live too far from me. I went by his house and showed him a copy of the movie. He was very happy. He's got physical therapists. There's a lot of rehab going on. He's traumatised--his friend died. It's Tracy -- not the most stable guy in the world to begin with."
The 45-year-old comedian, who suffered brain injuries, a broken femur, broken nose and broken ribs in the accident, is slowly starting to walk again, but it is thought he may never fully recover from the crash.
Tracy's lawyer, Benedict Morelli, said previously: "He's a bit more mobile. He's able to take some steps and doesn't have to be in a wheelchair every single minute. He's a fighter, but we don't know if he's going to be the old Tracy again."
Meanwhile, Tracy was extremely upset when Walmart recently accused him in court of being at least partially responsible for his injuries, as the company claims he wasn't wearing a seatbelt when the crash took place.
However, the funnyman hit back at the retail giant, insisting "my friends and I were doing nothing wrong."
His lawyer said: "He was so upset. It was all over the place. He was reading about it and seeing in on TV... he replayed to me that he wanted to say something."

Matthew McConaughey "needs" to go to church every week.
The 'Interstellar' actor - who has children Levi, six, Vida, four, and Livingston, two,with wife Camila Alves - says the "ritual" is important for him to take stock of his life and understand what he needs to work on.
Asked if he goes to church weekly, he said: "Yeah. In Texas. It's non-denominational. It's based in the faith that Jesus is the son of God, that he died for our sins, but many different denominations come in.
"As soon as we had children, I was like, 'You know what? That was important to my childhood.' Even if it was just for the ritual of giving an hour and a half on Sunday to yourself, to pray and to think about others, even if you're tired or whatever.
"I noticed how much I missed it and needed it. It's a time for me to take inventory of my last week, to look at what's in the future and say my thank-you's and think about what I can work on to do better."
The 44-year-old actor turns to God to help him figure out answers but though he believes in "miracles", he also thinks the world has its roots in science.
Asked who he thinks God is, he told the new issue of America's GQ magazine: "[God is] somebody who can help answer my questions. Someone who has a hand in all of this miracle we call life, which I believe is a miracle. But, see, at the same time, I completely believe in evolution.

Keira Knightley went to prom with a girl.
The 29-year-old actress - who is married to The Klaxons rocker James Righton - claims none of her male classmates asked her to their school dance, so she was accompanied by a female pal who also didn't have a date for the evening.
Asked who her prom date was, she said: "It was a she. Neither of us got invited by anybody else. No guys came anywhere near us. But she had black tie because it was black tie."
And the 'Laggies' star is still friends with her unnamed date.
She added: "She actually texted me at lunch. She is over from New York visiting her mum in England and wondered if I was there to have dinner with her."
During the interview, Keira also admitted she still doesn't feel like an adult - until she has to pay her bills.
In a game of 20 questions with her 'Laggies' co-star Sam Rockwell for E! Online, she said: "I mean, when the tax bills comes in that sorts of does it really and trying to figure that stuff out. Paying bills, that does it."
While Keira may not feel like an adult, she has reached many of the criteria which a new Generators Z report from Lucozade Energy says make people feel like they have finally become a grown-up.
