Matthew McConaughey took hiatus after being ‘un-branded’

Matthew McConaughey decided to stop working because he had become "un-branded".
The 'Dallas Buyers Club' actor believed he was no longer being noticed as a star of the screen so took a two-year hiatus in order to wait for a script which excited him.
He explained: "It was the anonymity that did it. I became kind of un-branded in the minds of others for a while."
The star took a break from Hollywood after the release of his 2009 movie 'Ghosts of Girlfriends Past' which was critically panned, but admits he felt nervous during his time away from life as an actor as he was unsure whether he could afford to support his family.
The 45-year-old star - who has three children, Levi, six, Vida, four, and 22-month-old Livingston with his wife, model Camilla Alves - said: "I had to say, 'Is rent going to be paid? Am I going to have to sell the house? Because I'm going to go into the shadows here for a little while.' "
However, Matthew returned to screens in 2012 with 'Magic Mike' and won an Academy Award earlier this year for his portrayal of an AIDS sufferer in the 2013 movie 'Dallas Buyers Club'.
While the acclaimed actor admitted the prize was a huge success for him personally, he insisted it doesn't necessarily mean he has reached the pinnacle of his career.
He told The Huffington Post UK: "I've been doing it for 22 years, and I'm constantly growing, trying to get better at what I do. So I got granted the gold standard for our industry for doing excellent work. It means a lot.
"But it in no way feels like a destination, or a finishing line. It's a wonderful peak of a moment in my career, but very quickly, you think, right, let's go back to work."

David McIntosh: I’m an exceptional boyfriend

David McIntosh thinks he is an "exceptional" boyfriend.
The former 'Gladiators' star - who has an on/off relationship with Kelly Brook - claims he is a very "romantic" person and likes to be caring and generous towards the women in his life.
He said: "I would say I'm exceptional. I'm very unselfish and very giving. I'm the kind of person who would have breakfast waiting when you woke up in the morning.
"I'd write you a nice note or buy you a present - something nice that's a thoughtful thing - or compliment you on something you wouldn't normally be complimented on.
"I love being a romantic. I'm a sweetheart!"
Despite the problems in his relationship with Kelly - who ended their engagement following claims he had cheated on her - the 28-year-old muscleman insists the brunette beauty is the love of his life.
He added to OK! magazine: "She's the only person I've loved more than anyone else. It's always been serious - we were engaged so it'd be pretty damn crazy if it wasn't serious.
"She was the love of my life, I did love her and we were engaged and hopefully we can go back to how things were."
However, David's hopes of the pair getting back together look to have been dashed by Kelly herself after the 34-year-old stunner confirmed earlier this week she is "very happy" being single at the moment and is enjoying concentrating on her career in Hollywood.
She told The Sun newspaper: "I'm very happy. I am a single, happy girl living in a great town and working with fantastic people.
"I am living out here - it's fantastic. I have a great job, I've got great friends. I just surround myself with positive, nice people and that's all you can do. It's just part of life.
"Maybe it's not my time to find love at the moment. I just get to focus on myself. There are more important things in the world."

Michelle Rodriguez wants Cara Delevinge back

Michelle Rodriguez wants to sort things out with her ex-girlfriend Cara Delevingne.
The 'Fast & Furious 7' actress reportedly wants to win the supermodel back after seeing her at the LACMA Art and Film Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday (01.11.14).
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Michelle was telling her friends that seeing Cara made her miss her and she desperately wants to sort things out.
"She has such great memories of their time together and would love to sit down with Cara and talk through everything.
"Michelle thought their relationship was great and wants to work things out."
The insider also revealed the 36-year-old actress even went as far as to send Cara a note via a waitress who was working at the showbiz event.
The source said: "Michelle asked a waitress to give Cara a note asking her to come over and talk to her.
"But Cara ignored it. She's still hurt about everything that happened. She was really nervous about seeing Michelle and clung to her pal Selena Gomez all night. Selena was telling friends on the night that Cara seemed nervous and anxious which is very unusual for her.
"And Selena also said there was some unfinished business between them. Everyone could sense the tension."

Priscilla Presley: Elvis was the ‘real deal’

Priscilla Presley has insisted Elvis was a lot more down to earth than celebrities nowadays.
The 69-year-old star, who married the 'Love Me Tender' singer in 1967, says her former husband was "the real deal" and valued his fans unlike stars in the current celebrity climate.
She said: "I was just a teenager at the time and I was in Germany, he was signing autographs.
"I just thought how he was the real deal, Elvis wasn't putting on any pretence, he never did. What you saw with him is what you got.
"You don't get that with so many musicians or celebrities these days, they don't value their fans, so I want to share with the world what he was really like."
Priscilla, who was just 14 when she first encountered the singing icon, also spoke about the first time she met him in Germany, saying she had a connection with the music legend from the moment she first saw him.
She said: "I remember when I set eyes on him, he was just so kind, so authentic."
The actress and businesswoman - who had a daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, with the singer before their divorce in 1973 - opened the 'Heartbreak Hotel' crooner's Memphis home, Graceland, to the public in 1982 following the star's tragic death at the estate in 1977, and has now brought items from his home to London for a new exhibition at The O2 Arena.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I'm very excited about it, we have been wanting to bring an Elvis exhibition to England for some time.
"Some of these exhibits haven't been seen before, Elvis will be so happy, he always thought this British fans were so supportive, he had a special love for them."

Will Smith has ‘stash’ of saucy photos of wife

Will Smith has a "stash" of saucy photos of Jada Pinkett Smith he's taken while she's been sleeping.
The 43-year-old beauty has posted an intimate snap of herself on Facebook in which she's lying in bed without clothing, and the actress revealed she's only just learned her 46-year-old husband - whom she married in 1997 - has a library of pictures of her.
She wrote: "I discovered the sexiest secret the other day.
"My husband takes pics of me in my sleep. He has a whole stash he revealed to me and I really enjoyed getting a glimpse of myself through his eyes.
"I had to share one with you guys. Life is art. Life is beauty. (sic)"
The couple - who have two children together, 16-year-old son Jaden and 13-year-old daughter Willow - recently revealed they strive to spend quality time together in order to keep their romance alive.
However, Jada says rather than going on a date to a plush restaurant, they prefer to bond at home.
Jada - who is set to star in 'Magic Mike XXL' - told Health magazine: "A lot of times, we'll do it [have a date] at the house because when we go out it can be a little hectic.
"We have different places around our yard where we like to set up a little Arabian tent, pillows, wine and cheese, candlelight. Will likes really thought out productions."

Charlie Sheen’s ex-fiancée hospitalised

Charlie Sheen's ex-fiancée has been hospitalised after allegedly suffering an overdose.
According to RadarOnline, Brett Rossi was taken to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles last weekend, where she spent a night in an intensive care unit before being transferred to a regular unit for a second night.
A source told the website: "It was an overdose. It is not known what she overdosed on."
The 25-year-old porn star - who is also known as Scottine Rossi - was said to have been found unresponsive at her house by a close friend but she is now said to be "recovering well physically".
Charlie confirmed last month he had ended the former couple's eight-month engagement and he is said to be "very concerned" about his former flame.
The pair split after a one-year romance but Brett is said to have taken their break-up "very hard".

Angelina Jolie’s political aspirations

Angelina Jolie is interested in running for political office.
The 38-year-old actress says her extensive humanitarian work has furthered her interest in politics, but the brunette beauty acknowledges her Hollywood career may hinder her aspirations.
The 'Maleficent' star told Vanity Fair magazine: "When you work as a humanitarian, you are conscious that politics have to be considered. Because if you really want to make an extreme change, then you have a responsibility.
"But I honestly don't know in what role I would be more useful - I am conscious of what I do for a living, and that [could] make it less possible."
Asked specifically whether she'd pursue a career in politics, the United Nations Goodwill Ambassador replied: "I am open."
Angelina - who tied the knot with Brad Pitt, 50, at their French estate on August 23, 2014 - also spoke about their marriage, admitting it "does feel different" and "it feels nice to be husband and wife".
The couple's six children helped to write their wedding vows and the actress revealed the role she and her husband played in the wording.
She said: "They did not expect us never to fight, but they made us promise to always say, 'Sorry,' if we do. So they said, 'Do you?,' and we said, 'We do!'"
