Bono’s near-miss in plane

Bono cheated death yesterday (12.11.14) when a door fell off the private jet he was travelling in.
The U2 frontman was on board a Learjet 60 D-CGEO with four friends flying from Dublin, Ireland to Berlin, Germany when the tailgate of the plane became detached at 8,000ft, but the party - which did not include the rest of the group - didn't realise what had happened until they landed.
A source told the Irish Daily Mail newspaper: "He was extremely lucky, the plane could have gone down. About an hour into the journey they heard a big thud coming from the rear of the plane.
"They were startled for a bit but they continued on and made the descent into Berlin airport. When they landed they were horrified to learn that the compartment at the rear of the plane had completely detached.
"They were at an altitude where anything could have happened and they are all feeling very lucky to be alive."
As a result of the accident, Bono and his friends' luggage fell out of the plane.
The source added: "The entire door, along with Bono and his companions' luggage, had fallen out mid-air. They don't know if the door and the contents landed over water or land but they were extremely lucky."
Aviation authorities in Germany have launched an official investigation into the incident, and police and officials from the German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accidents Investigations Office were spotted scouring fields near the airport this morning (13.11.14) looking for the luggage and other debris.
Airport spokesman Ralf Kunkel said: "The jet landed safely and, according to our knowledge, there was no danger of a crash."
Bono - who had flown out early to meet with Germany's development minister Gerd Mueller - and the rest of U2 appeared later on Wednesday night performing at the Bambi movie awards in Berlin.

Jennifer Lawrence cried over song

Jennifer Lawrence "cried" when she had to sing in 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1'.
The 24-year-old actress - who reprises her role of Katniss Everdeen in the latest installment of the futuristic fantasy saga - has hated singing in front of people since she was mocked for doing so as a child after being encouraged by her mother, who had told her she was "amazing".
She admitted: "I do not like singing in front of other people, that's like my biggest fear.
"I cried on set that day. I'm scarred from my childhood.
"I have a Southern mother that used to tell me I was amazing at everything and I could do everything, but I can't.
"I had this tone-deaf Amy Winehouse voice and I sang in front of the school when I was eight, because I thought I could.
"My dad laughed for the entire week! I'd hear him around the house, imitating me. I hate it, I hate it!"
Despite her concerns, Jennifer's vocals were included in the final cut of the movie, though she admits she begged for a top singer to dub her singing.
Speaking on 'The Late Show With David Letterman', she joked: "I was like, 'Will you guys please get Lorde and lip-sync it?' "

Usher: Having kids changed me

Usher has changed since having children.
The 'OMG' hitmaker - who has sons Usher V, six, and Naviyd, five, with ex-wife Tameka Foster - admits he has grown stronger both because of his kids and also tragedies such as the death of Tameka's 11-year-old son Kile Glover in 2012.
He said: "Having children changes how you look at life, what matters, what's a priority. And then you have a few uphill battles - well, that makes you even more resilient."
The 36-year-old singer is a hands-on dad and loves spending as much time as possible with his two boys.
He told USA Today newspaper: "I'm with my children all the time in Atlanta. When I'm on tour, they come in and out.
"Usher's more active; I can be out in the park with him for two hours, just throwing a ball around. Naviyd loves to read, loves to see shows. I love to have him with me in New York."
Usher is currently on tour and managed to win over one of his toughest critics - his youngest son - at a show in Madison Square Gardens last week.
He laughed: "He was sitting with his grandma [and] he went from, 'I don't like your music' to 'I liked your show!' "

Matthew McConaughey ‘flirted’ with Jessica Chastain’s grandmother

Jessica Chastain has joked Matthew McConaughey flirted with her grandmother more than she's "ever seen before".
The 37-year-old actress was shocked to find the 47-year-old actor laughing and joking with her relative at a screening of their new movie 'Interstellar' when her gran got so "star-struck" by Matthew and frantically started taking pictures of the hunky Academy Award-winner.
Speaking on an episode of 'Conan', which airs tonight (13.11.14), she said: "He flirted with her like I have never seen! They met at a screening of 'Interstellar' and my grandmother was so star-struck, and she kept saying, 'I want a selfie Matthew!'
"She then proceeded to do a photoshoot in front of everyone, she was like, 'You stand there,' and she just started taking pictures of Matthew.
"But then I took a picture of the two of them, and my God ... I don't think she even realised I was taking the picture."
But Matthew - who has been married to Camila Alves since 2012 - isn't the only star Jessica's grandmother has her eyes on as the flame-haired star explained 'Scarface' actor Al Pacino also caught her eye.
When asked if her family get star-struck around other celebrities, she replied: "I took my grandma, my very first big job was working with Al Pacino, and she took a picture with him and she framed it and put it next to her bed, so it was on her bedside table like ... Al Pacino."
Watch Jessica's interview on 'Conan', tonight at 11pm on truTV, freeview channel 68.

No Kardashian Christmas card this year

The Kardashian family will not produce their famous Christmas card this year.
The reality TV stars "ran out of time" to get their whole clan together to pose for their traditional festive picture which is sent out over the holiday season, Kim Kardashian West has revealed.
She said: "We're a little confused this year because we ran out of time. I think this is the first year that we're not doing our card...
"We're kind of sad, we just couldn't get it together. And where is everyone? Y'know, this one doesn't want to be in it, this one does want to be in it, so who knows..."
Instead, the family - likely to include matriarch Kris Jenner, her estranged husband Bruce Jenner, their daughters Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Kris' son Rob, her daughters Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, Kim's husband and daughter Kanye and North West, Kourtney's partner Scott Disick and their kids Mason and Penelope - will assemble a "compilation" of photo booth pictures and send their greetings out for New Year.
Kim explained to Britain's Glamour magazine: "What we're going to do is, at our Christmas party we have this amazing photo booth so we're going to do like a compilation and do a New Year's card.
"So we're all going to get together at the beginning of the party and make sure that we all get photos together and do this whole thing. So that's kind of what we came up with."
Last year, the family was shot be famed photographer David LaChapelle in a futuristic casino-style scenario.

Amanda Bynes ‘trashed apartment’

Amanda Bynes and her parents face legal action after the troubled actress trashed an apartment.
The 'Easy A' star - who has had no fixed abode since leaving a psychiatric hospital last month - had been staying with her hair stylist and two other women at a West Hollywood apartment and caused lots of damage to the property, allegedly burning cigarette holes in the carpets and splashing blue hair dye on the carpets and porcelain sinks.
The mother of one of the residents had signed the lease so contacted Amanda's parents - who have a conservatorship over the actress - asking for $1,500 to repair the damage.
However, Rick and Lynn Bynes reportedly refused, saying the women knew their daughter was unstable when they allowed her to stay against their wishes, so they felt they had taken on the risk.
One of the tenants told TMZ that living with Amanda was like "two different people" as she was sometimes "sweet and quiet" but could quickly change to be "angry and rude".
The 'She's the Man' star - who was recently caught sleeping on a sofa in a Beverly Hills shopping mall - is currently surviving on gift cards of between $50 and $100 a day given to her by her parents and claimed on Twitter she couldn't afford a hotel because her parents wouldn't give her enough money.
Amanda's conservatorship attorney David Esquibias recently revealed her financial affairs are to be put in the charge of an unnamed private trust firm, in order to make them more accessible to the actress, amid rumours her mother wants to step down as her conservator so they can rebuild their relationship.

Lorde claims Diplo has ‘tiny’ manhood

Lorde has slammed Diplo for having a "tiny penis" after he poked fun at her good friend Taylor Swift's butt.
The 18-year-old singer/songwriter shot to the 'Blank Space' hitmaker's defence by taking to her Twitter account to claim the DJ has a small manhood after he poked fun at the 24-year-old beauty by voicing his support for a fundraising account to "improve her posterior".
In response to Diplo, Lorde wrote: "should we do something about your tiny penis while we're at it hm (sic)"
The 36-year-old music producer - whose real name is Thomas Pentz - initially called for someone to create a fundraising account to help get the star a new derriere.
He wrote: "Someone should make a kickstarter to get taylor swift a booty (sic)"
He later added: "body shaming myself right now.
"are taylor swift fans called the swift boat veterans? (sic)"
Shortly after his tweets, Diplo posted a link to a Fundly account started by a fan called Eric Spivak called 'Get Taylor Swift A Booty'.
A post from Eric on the account page reads: "Taylor Swift Still Needs Your Help! Any true supporter of TSWIFT would definitely not pass up this opportunity to improve her posterior! Spread The Word If You Believe In Magic! (sic)"
At the time of writing, the Fundly account has raised $45 out of its goal of $3,500, including a $10 donation from Eric, and a total of 25 supporters have donated to the cause.
This comes as Diplo was recently romantically linked to Katy Perry, who is rumoured to be the subject of Taylor's song 'Bad Blood', in which she sings about a fellow female singer who tried to "sabotage" her entire 'Red' world tour.
Speaking about the mystery woman in September, she said: "She did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business.
"She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I'm surprisingly non-confrontational - you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it."
Following those comments the Twittersphere went into a frenzy speculating Katy could be the woman in question as the 30-year-old singer tweeted: "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing..."
The 'California Gurls' hitmaker was referring to Regina George, the lead character in 'Mean Girls' played by Rachel McAdams.

Kim Kardashian West: Kris marriage was a life lesson

Kim Kardashian West's marriage to Kris Humphries was a "life lesson".
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star split from her second spouse in October 2011 just 72 days after they tied the knot but she isn't upset or embarrassed by the short-lived union.
In an interview with Paper magazine in which she posed naked, she said: "It's just one of those life lessons that you have to learn, and it's OK."
Despite starring alongside her family in a series of reality shows since 2007, Kim - who is now married to Kanye West, the father of her 16-month-old daughter North - insists they don't get bored of being around one another.
She said: "We're kind of obsessed with each other."
And the 34-year-old beauty insists she has nothing to hide from fans as a result of the programmes.
She said: "I think you've seen every side of me on my show...
"I love sharing my world with people. That's just who I am."
Though she is constantly followed by photographers, Kim - who was just 19 when she married first husband Damon Thomas in 2000 - always stays calm and accepts the attention.
She explained: "Literally every single day there's about ten cars of paparazzi literally waiting outside our homes.
"You just have to not care. You just have to say, 'This is our life, and it is what it is.'
"All my friends tell me the world could be coming to an end, and I'm always so calm."
Because of the constant scrutiny, the brunette star always goes out looking "amazing".
She said: "There's nothing we can do that's not documented, so why not look your best, and amazing?"

Channing Tatum kept sane by wife

Channing Tatum's wife keeps him "sane".
The 34-year-old actor credits Jenna Dewan-Tatum - with who he has 16-month-old daughter Everly - with helping "right the ship" when his emotions start getting the better of him.
He said: "She keeps us all sane. Jenna puts everything in perspective for me, always.
"I'll find myself spinning out or angry or whatever, or even happy, and she always somehow ends up righting the ship."
While Channing is busy promoting his new movie 'Foxcatcher', his days are less hectic as he has wrapped filming on 'Magic Mike XXL' so it looking forward to spending more time with his family.
He told People magazine: "I just want to have that, more of that, more time with the family."
And as well as Jenna, 33, Channing is also thankful for the support of Mark Ruffalo, 46, who he says will always be his "big brother" after they played siblings in 'Foxcatcher'.
He said: "Mark Ruffalo will forever and ever be my big brother, whether he wants me or not. I would never have been able to survive this movie without him and, truthfully, he's a star."
