Benedict Cumberbatch wants new title for fans

Benedict Cumberbatch wishes his fans had a different name.
The 'Imitation Game' actor has a dedicated following of female supporters who call themselves Cumberbitches and though he is "flattered" by their attention, he thinks they ought to choose a less "rude" nickname.
He said: "It's funny and I'm flattered. But on a serious note, come on, give yourself more power as women. Don't just call yourself bitches!
"I know it was a joke, and more of an empowering thing. The majority of [the fans] are smart and savvy and just having fun, but it's getting out there. It sounds a bit [rude]."
And the 38-year-old actor has several suggestions of alternative monikers.
He said: "Cumbersomes? Cumbercollective? Cumberfans? There's lots of stuff!"
Benedict recently got engaged to theatre director Sophie Hunter and is very impressed with how well she copes with his female devotees.
He told People magazine: "She's just so in command of it.
"It could be a difficult thing, but she's just really cool. It's really impressive."
The 'Sherlock' star is looking forward to taking a break over the festive season and is planning a "traditional" celebration.
He said: "I like a traditional Christmas, the whole nine yards. It's all about just shutting down and shutting off for a bit. Going off the grid."

Eva Mendes won’t embarrass baby

Eva Mendes is "heartbroken" at the thought of embarrassing her daughter.
The 40-year-old actress admits she is making new considerations about her career choices now she is a mother to Esmeralda, her two-month-old baby with boyfriend Ryan Gosling.
She told Violet Grey magazine: "I want to stay present with her. But I do consider how my own actions now will seem to her later on. For instance, with the Violet Grey photo shoot, I thought, 'Is this something that she's going to be proud of?' The idea that I would ever embarrass her is really heartbreaking for me."
The 'Holy Motors' actress and the 'Drive' actor - who have been together for three years - chose their daughter's name after being inspired by one of their favourite books.
She explained: "We both love the Esmeralda character from the Victor Hugo novel 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' and just think it's a beautiful name.
"Her middle is Amada, which was my grandmother's name. It means 'beloved' in Spanish.
"We were really excited about naming her."
Since having her little girl, Eva is astonished at how much of a "struggle" life is for very young children.
She said: "I've learned that it's way harder to be a baby.
"Everything is a struggle for her. For instance, I haven't thrown up since the '90s and she's thrown up twice since we started this interview. Motherhood is cake compared to what it's like to be a baby."

Ridley Scott misses brother Tony

Ridley Scott got "very close" to his brother Tony Scott before his death.
The 76-year-old filmmaker's sibling died at the age of 68 in August 2012 when he committed suicide, leaving Ridley devastated.
However, the 'Alien' director is grateful that he had spent a lot of time with Tony before the tragedy occurred due to the 'Top Gun' creator's lengthy battle with brain cancer - something the family kept secret.
Speaking about his brother's "inexplicable" death publicly for the first time, Ridley told Variety: "Tony had been very unwell, actually, and that's the moment I realised I had to get very close to him again, though we were always close."
Ridley - whose older brother Frank died from skin cancer in 1980 at the age of 45 - misses Tony everyday but has so many fond memories of him, including their impromptu drinking sessions when he was being treated for his cancer.
He said: "I miss a friend. I'd go to him even when he was doing his recovery, and I'd say, 'F**k the chemo, have a Vodka Martini,' and he and I would go out."
Ridley ends his new film 'Exodus: Gods and Kings' - which is out in December - with a dedication to his younger brother Tony.

Nicole Kidman wants four more kids

Nicole Kidman wants to have four more children.
The 47-year-old actress has four kids - an adopted daughter and son, Isabella, 21, and Connor, 19, from her failed marriage to Tom Cruise, and daughters Sunday, six, and four-year-old Faith with her husband Keith Urban - but admits she would love to take her brood up to eight, even if her mother disagrees.
When asked if she wants more kids, she replied: "I have four children already and my sister has six children so my mum's like, 'We're done. We're done.'
"If I could I would have four more."
While Nicole makes sure Sunday and Faith are kept grounded by giving them chores to do, the 'Paddington' actress admits she doesn't ever iron clothes or cook but makes up for it with her love of washing garments, admitting she can't get enough of seeing dirty water come out of her outfits.
She added: "I don't do the ironing, even though as a kid that was my number one chore at home. Ironing my dad's shirts, which I loved doing.
"Sunday and Faith both have their chores that they have to do every single day even though they groan about it.
"I certainly do my things. I love washing clothes. I do love it, I love watching the dirty water come out. I sound so OCD. I just love seeing them get clean.
"I'm not a cook. I love to be cooked for."
Nicole admitted she and Keith will be "holding tight to each other" over the festive period as she remembers her late father, Dr. Antony Kidman, who died in September aged 75, and she believes the couple have endured such a great marriage because they met later in life.
Speaking on ITV's 'Lorraine', she added: "We've been married eight years and together for nine. We work really hard to keep a relationship alive and to keep it incredibly deep and intimate.
"That's through meeting in later life and having lived a life and coming together at a particular time that was serendipitous.
"There are incredible possibilities for love in the latter years. I sound like some old woman. Like a grandmother. Anyway, it's good and I'm grateful.
"We've had some terrible things happen this year in our family so we'll be holding tight to each other. That's all you can do at Christmas. Hold tight to each other."

Alfonso Ribeiro wins Dancing with the Stars

Alfonso Ribeiro has been crowned the winner of 'Dancing with the Stars'.
The 43-year-old actor emerged victorious from the US dance show after a closely fought final against 'Pretty Little Liars' star Janel Parrish and 17-year-old 'Duck Dynasty' personality Sadie Robertson.
On being announced as the winner, he said: "I cannot believe this. I've wanted it forever! My god, I don't even know what to say."
In the show's final - which was broadcast last night (25.11.14) - Alfonso performed an action-packed fusion dance incorporating the cha cha and Argentine tango with dance partner Witney Carson, which was given a perfect score of 40 points from the panel of judges.
The final was touted as one of the closest-run episodes of the show's history with the three contestants entering the show within three points of one another. Ultimately, the father-of-two came out on top after the scores from previous episodes were added to the judges' scores and viewer votes.
The two runners up praised the star for winning the show and expressed their gratitude for making it so far in the competition.
Sadie - who finished in second place - said: "This has been an amazing experience and I just want to say I'm so thankful to God who has brought me this far in the completion,"
Janel added: "I'm honestly just so lucky to be standing here next to him."
The former 'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' star was a favourite to take home the Mirror Ball trophy from the beginning of the series but was affected by debilitating injuries throughout his run on the show which even resulted in him crying his way through a routine earlier this month due to excruciating back pain.

Wes Chatham is a dad

Wes Chatham has become a father for the first time.
The 'Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1' actor and wife Jenn Brown welcomed son John, who will be known as Nash, into the world on Monday (24.11.14), a few weeks ahead of the 'American Ninja Warrior' host's due date.
They said in a statement: "We are beyond thrilled to announce the birth of our son John 'Nash' Chatham.
"This love is more than we could have ever imagined and we are beyond blessed. We want to thank everyone for their love and support."
The little boy's birth came just a few days after the 33-year-old presenter shared an ultrasound photo of the baby on her Instagram page.
She wrote alongside it: "I already love this face...can't wait to meet him #36weeks."
The couple - who got engaged in September 2011 and married just over two years later - announced they were expecting a baby in July.
They said at the time: "We are overjoyed to be expecting our little one this December and the well wishes we received today means so much!!"
And the duo were already expecting the baby to be as active as its parents.
They joked: "With as much as this baby is kicking, we think we have America's first Baby Ninja Warrior!"

Adam Levine: Chris Hemsworth deserved sexy title

Adam Levine thinks Chris Hemsworth is a "handsome dude".
The Maroon 5 singer insists he doesn't mind relinquishing his status as People's Sexiest Man Alive to this year's recipient because he thinks the 'Thor' actor "deserves" the accolade.
He said: "Listen he's a super, super good looking [guy]. He's a handsome dude.
"He's Thor, for Christ's sake. I mean, the dude deserves it. Gosh!"
Meanwhile, Adam's fellow 'Voice' coach Blake Shelton - with who he enjoys a friendly rivalry - claimed he thinks Chris is a much more deserving winner than the 'Payphone' singer - even though he has "zero clue" who the 31-year-old actor is.
Asked whether he thinks Adam, 35, or Chris is sexier, Blake told 'Access Hollywood': "I don't even know. I don't even know who the other dude is. I have absolutely zero clue who the new guy is...
"But I guarantee you he's more manly and better looking and probably a better human being [than Adam] all together."
However, Adam insisted the 38-year-old country star was just jealous because he wasn't deemed "sexy enough" to be a cover star.
He hit back: "You guys, see, Blake made the inside of the magazine. Blake made the guys-who-weren't-quite-sexy-enough-to-be-on-the-cover list."

Lewis Hamilton: Being apart from Nicole is tough

Lewis Hamilton says maintaining his relationship with Nicole Scherzinger "hasn't been easy".
The two-time Formula 1 world champion has admitted he sometimes struggles with the long-distance nature of his relationship with his pop star girlfriend, who he first started dating in 2007.
Speaking about their romance, the 29-year-old racing driver said: "It's not been easy - she lives in LA, I live in Monaco and I'm travelling a lot for work.
"Her job is shifting all the time, whether it's 'X Factor' or 'Dancing With The Stars' or 'Cats' or music. Juggling your schedule to meet with the other is very hard, and it's a long year with F1.
"At one point I flew to Asia for five weeks and couldn't see her. It's been tough."
However, Lewis explained that having the 36-year-old beauty by his side as he won the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday (23.11.14) to clinch the 2014 Formula 1 World Championship made the weekend extra "special".
He told The Sun newspaper: "So obviously this makes it hard for us. But having Nicole there at the weekend was special."
When asked if he liked being dubbed the 'Hamzingers', Lewis said: "We're not Posh and Becks or Brangelina. We're unique.
"Nicole loves twisting words around - 'schamazing' or 'schermazeballs' - she's always doing it. It's ridiculous. She's going overboard now."
Lewis and Nicole initially started dating in 2007 but split in January 2010 to focus on their careers. But they later reunited and split a number of times between 2011 and 2013 before eventually getting back together.

Liam Gallagher misses deposition

Liam Gallagher was "too ill" to attend a meeting for his child support battle last week - but was spotted in a pub a day later.
The 'Wonderwall' singer was due to be quizzed about his finances by Liza Ghorbani's lawyer in New York on November 21 but cancelled the deposition - which relates to payments for his 20-month-old daughter Gemma - because he wasn't well enough to fly out from the UK, but was seen socialising with friends the following day.
Liza's lawyer Ira Garr said: "Gallagher was supposed to be deposed last Friday, but his attorney filed an emergency application to the court because he was too ill to travel. It appears he has no great desire to be deposed."
According to the lawyer, the 42-year-old rocker - who disbanded his group Beady Eye last month amid speculation his most successful band, Oasis, are planning to reform - has been given three settlement offers so far but his representatives haven't responded.
He added to the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "Gallagher has indicated that Oasis is disbanded and his earnings are down, which is why he is reported to be selling off his homes in London and on Central Park South."
It is believed Liam needs to finalise his divorce from Nicole Appleton - the mother of his 13-year-old son Gene - before making an agreement with Liza, but that could take until next autumn.
And the US journalist is said to be particularly unhappy that the 'Supersonic' hitmaker - who also has daughter Molly, 16, and son Lennon, 15, from previous relationships - still hasn't met their daughter.
The lawyer said: "The fact that he hasn't even seen the child is a great source of disappointment to the mother."
Liam's lawyer confirmed he had been unwell but said a new deposition and hearing are scheduled for next week and he "will attend".
The legal representative added: "We have exchanged financial information with Liza's attorneys. It was vetted by accountants and was perfectly appropriate."
