Billy Corgan and Courtney Love ‘connected deeply’

Billy Corgan says he and Courtney Love "connected very deeply" when they dated.
The Smashing Pumpkins frontman was in a relationship with the 'Celebrity Skin' singer before she married Nirvana rocker Kurt Cobain in 1992 and they have had an on/off love affair ever since.
Billy insists they shared something special when they were together and both supported each other's musical aspirations.
In a HuffPost Live chat to promote his band's new album 'Monuments to an Elegy', he said: "We connected very deeply and once it spun off and where we spun off - we've never had that same relationship again ... We were two artists, probably before their insanity hit, finding some sort of Zeitgeist between one another in terms of artwork and what we wanted to accomplish."
Billy - who married artist Chris Fabian in 1993 but split from her in 1995 - is believed to have rekindled his romance with Courtney again in 1994 after Courtney was widowed following Kurt's death.
In 2006, he moved in with the Hole frontwoman and her daughter Frances Bean Cobain and had his own wing in her Hollywood Hills mansion, but they he angered her in 2008 by not attending Frances' 16th birthday party in 2008 and they fell out publicly in 2010 over a row about songs she included on an album without his permission.
The 47-year-old musician accepts Courtney has her flaws but he has always loved her for who she is and still cares deeply for her now.
Speaking to host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani, he explained: "She is who she is I love and accept her. It doesn't mean I like everything she says and does, nor do I want to spend a year with her in an elevator."

Nicky Hilton keeps slim walking

Nicky Hilton stays slim by walking.
The 31-year-old fashion designer - the sister of Paris Hilton - says she avoids taking unnecessary car journeys in New York to keep in shape and believes you can stay fit by climbing stairs rather than wasting hours in the gym.
Speaking about her new fashion book '365 Style', she said: "To not add weight, I walk not take taxis. Use stairs instead of gyms. If anyone's fat, avoid prints. Try oversize boy stuff. Nothing constricting. Hide the bad body part. Do navy, dark colours. Got great legs, accentuate with short dresses. Super-skinny? Layer."
Nicky also revealed she has a yearly clear out of her wardrobe and gives her unwanted clothes to her cousins who are delighted to be handed her designer garments.
Speaking to the New York Post newspaper, she said: "My 'Spring Cleaning' chapter explains I clear out yearly. Female cousins get my hand-me-downs that don't fit anymore. I save special sentimental ones, like what mom gave me."
Nicky - who got engaged to British banker James Rothchild this summer - has dedicated a chapter in the book to her mother Kathy, whom she thanks for teaching her so much.
She said: "One chapter called 'Mom Knows Best' is stuff she taught me about life and style."

Freida Pinto splits from Dev Patel

Freida Pinto and Dev Patel have reportedly split.
The couple - who met when they both starred in 2008 film 'Slumdog Millionaire' - called time on their relationship a "while" ago after being together for almost six years.
A source told Us Weekly magazine: "Dev and Freida have broken up. They have been done for a while."
Rumours began to circulate the pair's romance was dead when Freida celebrated her 30th birthday in October without Dev, 24.
The 'Immortals' actress is now said to be ready to move on from the actor and is considering entering the dating game again.
Another source told the publication: "Freida is single and happy. Friends are setting her up."
Dev fell in love with Freida on the set of Danny Boyle's Oscar-winning 'Slumdog Millionaire', the movie which made stars of them, admitting he thought she was his "soul mate" before then even started dating.
'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' star said: "We're soul mates because we're both in this surreal situation. She is very beautiful ... I haven't got a girlfriend but Freida, my co-star, is gorgeous."
Several months after shooting wrapped on 'Slumdog Millionaire', Freida broke off her engagement to her former publicist Rohan Antao in January 2009 to start dating Dev.

Lady Gaga still decorating ‘big’ Christmas tree

Lady Gaga has been decorating her "big" Christmas tree for two days.
The 'Anything Goes' singer started the festive tradition on Tuesday (09.12.14) but despite spending two days placing lights and baubles on it she still hasn't finished.
Gaga admits she may have underestimated the job in hand so took a break from her tree to make a Bolognese pasta sauce today (10.12.14).
She posted on Twitter: "Day 2 of time off I made bolognese and kept decorating our Christmas tree. Wow this is a big tree! (sic)"
Gaga hopes to have completed her tree task very soon and when she's done she has vowed to share her Yule Tide merriment with her followers on the social networking site.
Twitter @HausOfFanis messaged her, saying: "I wish gaga could post a picture of the tree, she only posted a pic of the pasta :/ (sic)"
To which the pop superstar replied: "I'll post the tree when it's done I'm not happy with it yet!"
Perhaps Gaga is out of practice when it comes to decorating a Christmas tree as she hasn't taken on the job for the last six holidays.
She previously tweeted: "I'm decorating a Christmas Tree myself for the first time in 6 years, so happy. we should never take it for granted the joy it brings!"
The 28-year-old musician is enjoying some well earned time off at her New York home after her 'ArtRave: The Artpop Ball' world tour concluded in Paris, France, on November 24.

David Letterman to leave Late Show in May

David Letterman is to leave the 'Late Show' next May.
The 67-year-old star will host his final episode of the CBS chat show on May 20, 2015, which will be 21 years after he first presented the programme.
Leslie Moonves, President and CEO of the CBS Corporation, said: "David Letterman has given to all of us a remarkable legacy of achievement and creative brilliance that will never be forgotten. It's going to be tough to say goodbye, but I know we will all cherish the shows leading up to Dave's final broadcast in May."
Letterman announced in April that he was retiring from the programme and Stephen Colbert of 'The Colbert Report' will taking over as the host of the 'Late Show'.
During his tenure, the show won nine Emmy Awards and was nominated for 73 prizes.
When Letterman made his decision to turn off his mic he told Moonves: ''It's been great, you've been great, and the network has been great, but I'm retiring.''
In 2013, Letterman overtook his friend and mentor Johnny Carson as the longest-serving late-night talk show host in TV history with a career spanning 31 years.

School singers Jessie J and Adele

Jessie J and Adele used to sing with each other at school.
The 'Sweet Talker' singer and the 'Skyfall' hitmaker were in the same year together at the BRIT School for performing arts in Croydon, South London, and Jessie has revealed the teenage pals would spend their lunch breaks making music.
Talking to PEOPLE, Jessie said: "We were in the same year! We used to sing at lunchtime together. Obviously at that time we didn't realise that we'd both "eventually" have music out. But she's amazing. She was always that really bright energy at school."
The 26-year-old pop star is still friends with Adele - who has a two-year-old son, Angelo, with her partner Simon Konecki - and they talk to each other when they get the chance.
She added: "She's wicked, and every time I get a chance, I try and text her. But she's super busy ... Global superstar, mum - standard."
Jessie hopes she and Adele, 26, will recreate their school days singing sessions and record a duet together in the future.
The singer - who has been nominated for her first Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group performance for 'Bang Bang', her collaboration with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj - said: "She's on my wish list. I would love to hear our voices together because we're so different vocally. We wouldn't do a classic pop song, though, but something deeper."
