Neve Campbell has paid tribute to the late director Wes Craven.
The 'Scream' actress believes her life and career wouldn't have been the same without the legendary filmmaker, who passed away at his home in Los Angeles last Sunday (30.08.15) following a battle with brain cancer.
The 41-year-old star - who appeared in all four of the horror movies - said: "Little did we know that our few months in the sleepy little town of Santa Rosa, California would give birth to one of the highest-grossing films of that decade and bring about a resurgence in a genre that had been deemed dead for years. Little could we comprehend the great success each of us would be gifted from having the opportunity to make 'Scream' with the great Wes Craven."
The 76-year-old director helped reinvent the horror genre with his Freddy Kruger classic, 'Nightmare on Elm Street,' in the 1980s, and again with teen slasher series in the 1990s.
Neve also told The Hollywood Reporter: "Our lives would not be what they are without having worked with Wes. His films have been and will continue to be touted as some of the greatest of their genre, and his crews and cast will continue to remember him as one of the best.
"Rest in peace, Wes! We'll continue to watch your films and not sleep peacefully at all."

Alyssa Milano is thinking about adopting a baby in the future.
The 42-year-old actress, who has two biological children, Milo, four, and Elizabella, 11 months, with husband David Bugliari, admits she would love to expand their family further, but fears she is getting too old.
She said: "I want another one, but I'm 42 so it's like, why push my luck? I have two healthy children and I had them both later in my life. Maybe I adopt in six years."
The brunette beauty is grateful that her son and daughter get along really well.
The former 'Charmed' star told PEOPLE.com: "He just loves her so hard, he wants to smash her. It's that kind of delicious like, 'Oh I love her!' He's the perfect big brother. I could not have asked for anything better.
"Who knows what's going to happen when she can walk over and take his toy. But right now, he's just so madly in love with her and she worships everything that he does. It's so sweet."
Alyssa loves reading to her daughter, but isn't impressed by her taste in music.
She said: "Honestly, I'm embarrassed to say my daughter's favourite track to dance to is 'Big Booty' [by Jennifer Lopez]. She's obsessed with that song."

Jennifer Aniston is "very happy" Sandra Bullock has found love again.
The 'Cake' actress, who married Justin Theroux last month, was thrilled that her close friend brought lifestyle photographer Bryan Randall as her date to their intimate wedding.
A source said: "Jen and Sandra are great friends now. Jen's very happy that Sandra is dating."
The 'Gravity' star, 51, has been quietly romancing the 49-year-old model for "several months" after they were introduced by mutual friends earlier this year.
The insider added: "Sandra looked great and introduced Bryan to everyone.
"She was smiling and very bubbly. Wedding guests commented on how happy she looked."
Portland-based Bryan, who has modelled for Saint Laurent and Harper's Bazaar magazine, is more than just a handsome face, according to his pals.
Another source told PEOPLE magazine: "He's a great guy and had a great family life growing up. His parents are amazing people. Everyone is really proud of him for being a talented photographer and model.
"Everyone thinks it's great he's dating [Sandra]."
It appears the couple have a lot in common, as they are both single parents. The Oscar winner has five-year-old son Louis, who she adopted following her split from ex-husband Jesse James, while Bryan has an older daughter from a previous relationship.

Safaree Samuels - who dated the 'Anaconda' hitmaker for 14 years before she dumped him last year - has had a bed of roses inked over his final body art tribute to her.
The 34-year-old rapper fuelled rumours he'd split from the 32-year-old star in 2014 after he replaced etchings of her face and name on his chest with a rose and locket and key design.
And he now appears to have put their relationship behind him for good as a tattoo artist posted before and after shots of Safaree's forearm on his Instagram account.
Alongside a split image of a Marilyn Monroe-inspired portrait of Nicki and a rose tattoo design, iAmCompton wrote: "and u think yo job is hard. Just finish this piece for @iamsafaree #SorryNicki #itsJustBusiness #inkArtMusic (sic)"
The Hoodstars rapper's decision to permanently erase his ex-girlfriend and former bandmate from his life comes after she reportedly dumped new boyfriend and rumoured fiancé Meek Mill for badmouthing both him and Drake.
A source said previously: "It's complicated. I think they took their relationship too far, too fast."
And although Nicki and Meek are currently on tour together, having appeared at Dubai nightclub People By Crystal last night (01.09.15), they're said to be putting on a brave face for their fans.

Kylie Jenner has dyed her hair blonde for autumn.
The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star showcased her new colour on her Instagram account and shared how it took her "months of not dying" her hair and "wearing wigs" to get her hair "back to health" so she could get the new colour.
Posted alongside a selfie of her new style, she captioned the image: "Took months of not dying my hair and wearing wigs to get my hair back to health so I can do this!! Thank you @priscillavalles @maishaoliver for putting up with me all day. I'm going for an ashy dirty blonde for the fall. But this s****s a process! I'm coming for u khloé! (sic)"
The 18-year-old reality star is following in the footsteps of step-sisters Kim Kardashian West and Khloe Kardashian who both went through the blonde phase and hinted that she was copying Khloe - who died her hair a similar hue a few months back.
The now-blonde beauty had previously shared photos of her experimenting with different colours and styles, none of which were permanent from a bob, blue hair, extensions and dip dye.

The Queen guitarist and his actress wife Anita Dobson would like to relax and unwind in their garden shed at home, but are prevented from doing so because the property has been completely over-run by homeless cats.
Asked whether she'd like to own a so-called 'she-shed' - a women-only space where she can escape everyday stresses - during her guest panellist appearance on 'Loose Women', Anita explained: "I think I'd rather have a house. We do have a shed in our garden, but mostly stray pussy cats live in there from time to time."
Despite their maddening moggie invasion, Anita revealed that when she and Brian want peace for the pussies they each have a space at home where they can indulge in their personal pleasures.
The former 'EastEnders' star explained: "In my house I have a little place that I call my own and Brian has his little place that he calls his own. So I don't really think I'd want to go into the garden and then go somewhere else. I like everything being under the one roof."
The revelation comes shortly after Brian - an astrophysicist and a noted environmentalist as well as a rock legend - pledged to challenge the UK government's decision to press ahead with a new badger cull.
The 68-year-old musician is to file an official complaint about the cull through the Save Me Trust, the non-profit organisation he founded to help protect wildlife.
Brian recently said: "We are all hugely disappointed that the government has decided to continue its cull policy, despite Natural England's scientific advisor branding the badger cull 'an epic failure'."

50 Cent took two days to visit every room in his house.
The 'In Da Club' hitmaker - who declared a $6000 electricity bill in his recent bankruptcy filings - bought a 52-room Connecticut property from Mike Tyson in 2003 and says the place is so vast, it feels like a "small hotel".
He said: "I tried to go into every room and feel out the place. How long did it take? Two days, it's like a small hotel.
"Did I forget to turn the lights off? When you've got a 52-room place, when you don't use s**t they beak because you didn't use it, so you leave the f***ing lights on."
In 2004, 50 was infamously bottled off stage at Reading Festival, but he insists the crowd didn't turn on him because they disliked him and he had a lot of "fun" throwing things back at the audience.
He recalled to Q magazine: "Oh that was fun that show. Look, they did that to everybody. They ran a rock group [The Rasmus] off right before we were on.
"That s**t was crazy. We all just started throwing s**t. I was singing in between all the s**t landing on stage. They were throwing s**t, we were throwing s**t back. ..
"I think in any other place you would look at that like they didn't like you. It had nothing to do with that.
"They threw s**t at everybody who came up there. I don't care who you were, you went out there and they threw s**t at you. They would have thrown some s**t on Michael Jackson, it didn't matter."

Mel B was struck down with an eye infection ahead of the first semi-final of 'America's Got Talent' on Tuesday night (01.09.15).
The judge was left with a red and swollen eye ahead of the live show and was worried she wouldn't be able to take her spot on the panel along with Howie Mandel, Howard Stern and Heidi Klum due to the condition.
Mel posted a photo of her infected eye on Instagram, appealing for tips to improve its appearance.
The accompanying caption read: "Dealing with a really bad eye infection ouch can't believe I'm on live in a few hrs, any suggestions? Glasses, eye patch 🙁 Yes yes I've already been to the dr (sic)"
Mel made sure she kept her eye clean and used sanitiser to keep her hands germ-free after touching the infection to stop it from spreading.
In the end she made the live show but wore sunglasses to cover her eye.
Although she had been feeling miserable about her illness, the former Spice Girls star was cheered up by her daughter Madison - her child with husband Stephen Belafonte - who was celebrating her fourth birthday yesterday.
In more Instagram posts, she said: "Yep my eye infection was too much to handle so I had to put on ma shades 🙁
"But birthday girl is keeping me company though awwwww Madison #4yearsoldtoday (sic)"

Ronda Rousey will "totally go" to the Marine Corps Ball on the arm of US Marine Jarrod Haschert.
The UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion has accepted the invitation to be the Lance Corporal's date after he decided to take a chance and posted a video on Facebook that went viral - with over five million views - asking her to the event which will take place in Carolina this December.
In the video addressed to Ronda, he said: "You are my celebrity crush, like, I love everything you do and I think you are a phenomenal person. Which is why it would be my honour to take you to the Marine Corps Ball."
In an interview with TMZ, Ronda has now stated she will attend the Ball with Jarrod, saying: "Yeah I wanna go with you!"
Ronda, 28, only saw the video recently and initially she was unable to accept his invite because she was due to be in training camp for her title defence against Holly Holm but this fight has now been moved to November 14.
But now the bout has been rescheduled, she's totally up for the date with the "cute" corporal and wants TMZ to make an introduction between the pair so they can make it official.
She added: "Actually I just saw it the other day. I saw screen shots of it before, and I was like 'I can't go anyway because I'm in camp,' but the fight got moved ... so actually I can go, but I don't know how to, like hit him up, and say, 'Yeah I wanna go with you!' I would go, yeah for sure. But I don't know how to like, do I call him? Or say do I set up a time and place, like in 'Never Been Kissed'? And like, just show up and have him waiting until the clock runs out and be like, 'I'm here!' "
And Ronda hasn't ruled out romance, adding: "He's cute! He's got to be a gentleman. You know, I'm not a first date kind of a girl. But I don't know, we'll see when I meet him."
'The Expendables 3' star has also told Jarrod if he has any marine friends who need dates she'll arrange for her pals to go with them.
In the video interview she turned to her friends with her and said: "Do you want me to try and get you guys dates? He needs to find dates for my girls, and then we'll all go!"
Ronda isn't the first celebrity to accept an invitation to Marine Corps Ball from service personnel.
In 2011, Sergeant Scott Moore of the 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines in Musa Qala, Afghanistan, attended the event with Mila Kunis after posting a video invitation and Justin Timberlake was present at the same party after agreeing to be Corporal Kelsey De Santis' date.
