Jay Z announces star-studded gig

Jay Z has organised a star-studded concert to celebrate Tidal reaching 1 million subscribers.
The 45-year-old rapper's music streaming service, which launched last March, has announced he and wife Beyoncé will headline Tidal X: 1020 Amplified by HTC at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York later this month.
The 'Drunk in Love' hitmakers will be joined by Prince, Usher, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, T.I., Fabolous, Damian Marley, Indochine, Thomas Rhett, DJ Cipha Sounds and DJ Reflex at the event on October 20, 2015, which will the first in a series of gigs to raise funds for charity, according to PEOPLE.com.
Jay recently hinted on Twitter he was planning something special to mark the service's latest milestone, writing: "'Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists' Tidal is platinum. 1,000,000 people and counting. Let's celebrate 10/20 Brooklyn."
In a statement, Tidal said concertgoers can expect "collaborations on specially chosen songs to promote the message of unity through music."
The event is "aimed at raising awareness, funds, conscious engagement, and dynamic action for transformative and positive social impact worldwide," with all of the proceeds set to be donated to charities connected to the New World Foundation.
Tickets, ranging in price from $74 to $244, went on sale to Tidal members on Wednesday (30.09.15), and non-members can buy tickets via Ticketmaster from tomorrow (02.10.15).

Caitlyn Jenner cleared of any criminal wrongdoing

Caitlyn Jenner has been cleared of any criminal wrongdoing in relation to her car crash last February.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney (D.A.) has decided not to charge the 65-year-old reality TV star with vehicular manslaughter and has officially rejected the case because she wasn't speeding and her conduct was not "unreasonable" when she "set off a chain of events" that resulted in the death of a female driver, Kim Howe, in the multi-car pile-up on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu earlier this year.
Following the decision, Caitlyn's lawyer, Blair Berk, told gossip website TMZ.com: "We believed from the start that a thorough and objective investigation would clear Caitlyn of any criminal wrongdoing. We are heartened the District Attorney has agreed that even a misdemeanour charge would not be appropriate.
"A traffic accident, however devastating and heartbreaking when a life is lost, is not necessarily a criminal matter."
A lengthy investigation found the former Olympian, who was known as Bruce Jenner at the time of the accident and underwent gender transition in May, hit her brakes belatedly when she crashed into the victim's Lexus, which then struck an oncoming Hummer, but her behaviour was not "unreasonable."
The 'I Am Cait' star recently insisted she doesn't remember much about the accident.
She said: "I remember it very little, I remember it happening and that's about it.
"I was under the speed limit, I was going 46 in a 50 - my air bag didn't even go off."
But she added: "A tragedy like this, you'll never get over it. You just learn to live with it the best you possibly can."

Matt Damon thinks Ben Affleck is ‘misunderstood’

Matt Damon thinks Ben Affleck is "misunderstood."
The 'Martian' star, who has been friends with the Oscar winner since they were children, claims the 'Argo' director, 43, is nothing like his public image and believes he was unfairly branded "a talentless kind of meathead" when he started dating Jennifer Lopez in 2002.
The 44-year-old star said: "There's nobody who's more misunderstood. Ten years ago, the public image of him could not have been farther apart from who he actually is. It was like he was being cast in a role, that he was a talentless kind of meathead, with his whole relationship with Jennifer Lopez."
While Ben ended his engagement to Lopez in January 2004 and went on to marry Jennifer Garner, whom he announced his split from in July after 10 years of marriage, Matt says it was "really painful" to watch him "cast as this person that he wasn't" when he was still with the 'Booty' hitmaker.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: "It was just really painful. It was painful to be his friend, because it wasn't fair, you know? To my mind, nobody really got him at all."
Matt is also really proud of Ben for turning his career around after a string of flops, including 'Gigli' in 2003.
He said: "Through his work, he climbed from the bottom of the mountain all the way back up to the top. And past where either of us had ever been."

Jim Carrey’s ex-girlfriend found with pills

Jim Carrey's ex-girlfriend Cathriona White was reportedly found with pills next to her body.
The Los Angeles Coroner's Office has also confirmed the Irish beautician, 30, who died at her home in Sherman Oaks, California on Monday (28.09.15) from an apparent suicide, left a note at the scene that mentions the 53-year-old actor's name.
Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told 'Entertainment Tonight' that wasn't sure whether the letter was directly addressed to the 'Dumb and Dumber to' star because he had not seen it.
The on-again, off-again couple first started dating in 2012 after meeting on a film set, but split a few months later.
They rekindled their romance last May, but recently ended it for the second time.
An autopsy has not yet been carried out and toxicology results are expected to take eight to 10 weeks to determine Cathriona's official cause of death.
Jim previously paid tribute to the brunette beauty, who moved to LA from her native Co. Tipperary, Ireland in 2009, in a statement, saying: "She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil.
"My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her."
The late Robin Williams' daughter Zelda, who Cathriona occasionally communicated with using the Twitter handle @littleirishcat, also shared her sorrow on the social media site, writing: "Heartbroken to continue to watch sweet, kind souls be consumed by darkness. May it never hurt less, so we never grow numb to the loss.
"In honour of @littleirishcat, please check out http://www.pieta.ie. They do great work in her wonderful home country. RIP Cat."
Robin committed suicide at his home in Tiburon, California in August 2014.

Kelly Clarkson cancels ‘Piece by Piece’ tour

Kelly Clarkson has cancelled the remaining dates of her 'Piece by Piece' tour.
The 'Stronger' hitmaker, who is expecting her second child with husband Brandon Blackstock, says she's "truly sorry" to have to scrap all of her concerts in the UK and Canada this year after being placed on "vocal rest" by her doctors.
Announcing the news, the 32-year-old singer said: "I am truly sorry that I have to cancel the remainder of my tour dates. I was so looking forward to sharing this tour with all my amazing fans in Canada and the UK. Unfortunately my doctor is telling me I have to stay on vocal rest, but I am working hard to get better as fast as possible."
Earlier this month, Kelly, who already has 14-month-old daughter River Rose, expressed her frustration on Twitter after she was forced to cancel the last six dates of her US tour due to vocal strain.
She tweeted: "So bummed that I have to cancel some of my tour dates. This kills me, but doctors are saying I need to rest my voice! I can't wait to get healthy and see y'all back on the road soon. I hate cancelling and I am truly sorry to my fans that have been excited to see this show. Please know that I never cancel anything unless it's absolutely necessary."
The 'Run' hitmaker lost her voice after giving birth to River last year and previously admitted she feared she would never be able to sing again.
She said: "I literally had a moment where I cried and drank wine all day. I was like, 'Oh, God, I'm not going to be a singer anymore!' I was bawling to my husband and like, completely hammered, just going, 'Oh my God, it's over. I don't know what I'm going to do."

Blake Lively shutting down lifestyle site

Blake Lively is closing down her lifestyle website, Preserve.us.
The 28-year-old actress, who launched the ecommerce site in August 2014, has announced she is shutting it down next week because "it's not making a difference in people's lives."
The 'Savages' star explained: "We have an incredible team of people who do beautiful work, but we launched the site before it was ready, and it never caught up to its original mission: It's not making a difference in people's lives, whether superficially or in a meaningful way. And that's the whole reason I started this company, not just to fluff myself, like, 'I'm a celebrity! People will care what I have to say!' "
Blake believes she will be branded a failure, but hopes to prove people wrong by reworking and relaunching the site in the future.
She told Vogue.com: "I know what it'll look like, what I'm facing publicly, that people are just going to have a heyday with this ... The only way I can prove all the negative reactions wrong is to come back with a plan that will rock people. And I have that plan.
"It's very exciting and it's also incredibly scary. I never thought I would have the bravery to actually do that, to take the site dark and to say, 'You know what? I haven't created something that is as true and impactful as I know it can and will be. And I'm not going to continue to chase my tail and continue to put a product out there that we, as a team, are not proud of.' "
Preserve will officially close on October 9, and the blonde beauty admits she might even change the name before she relaunches it.
The former 'Gossip Girl' star said: "I love the name Preserve. But then, I never thought people would think Preserve had something to do with jam! ... These are all of the things you don't think of when you're too intimate with something."

Kate Winslet is ‘proud’ of private divorces

Kate Winslet is "proud" that "no one really knows" why her first and second marriages ended.
The 'Divergent' actress, who divorced Jim Threapleton in 2001 after three years of marriage and Sam Mendes in 2010 after seven years, is glad she kept the details surrounding both splits private.
She said: "No one really knows what has happened in my life. No one really knows why my first marriage didn't last; no one knows why my second didn't. I'm proud of those silences."
But Kate, who has daughter Mia, 14, with Jim, son Joe, 11, with Sam and 21-month-old son Bear with current husband Ned Rocknroll, admits the attention surrounding her love life "hasn't been easy."
The Oscar winner told WSJ. Magazine: "I know lots of people who are not in the public eye who have gone through several marriages, I really do, and it's just those are the cards that life dealt me. I didn't plan on it being that way. And f**k me, it hasn't been easy, you know."
The 'Steve Jobs' star feels very lucky to have met Ned and says he makes her very happy.
She said: "Thank God for Ned - really. He's just so incredibly supportive, and he's so much fun. He's absolutely everything to me. And to all of us."

Zoe Saldana felt helpless when twins arrived early

Zoe Saldana felt helpless after giving birth to her twin sons prematurely last November.
The 37-year-old actress, who has 10-month-old baby boys Cy and Bowie with artist husband Marco Perego, admits she struggled to cope when they were immediately placed in the neonatal intensive care unit at a Los Angeles hospital.
The 'Avatar' star said: "When I was in the neonatal intensive care unit with my two sons, I became like every parent that was on that floor. My husband and I were at the mercy of our nurses and doctors -- our children's lives depended on their every move."
The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star recently decided to get involved with Brave Beginnings, a non-profit organisation that helps ensure hospitals have access to the life-saving equipment needed to help premature babies thrive, as a result of her experience.
She told PEOPLE magazine: "When children are born prematurely, they don't just need to be held, they need assistance breathing, feeding and going to the bathroom. They also need incubators to protect them while they're forming immune systems.
"This equipment can mean the difference between life and death for a child, that's just the truth. If a child can't breathe and doesn't have the equipment to help him breathe we can't help him with our own hands."
Zoe feels lucky her sons are now thriving and thinks all premature babies should receive the same high levels of care.
She said: "I went through it. I was there. I was a parent and my children were the ones that benefitted from having excellent services from the hospital. And I want that for every parent. I want that for every child."

Naya Rivera names son Josey

Naya Rivera and husband Ryan Dorsey have named their newborn son Josey.
The couple, who got married in Mexico in July 2014 following a whirlwind romance, welcomed their first child into the world on September 17 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles.
According to their baby boy's birth certificate, obtained by gossip website TMZ.com, his full moniker is Josey Hollis Dorsey.
A source previously revealed the former 'Glee' star, 28, had a "very easy birth."
The insider added:: "They are so excited to be first-time parents.
"Naya was born to be a mother and is doing really great so far. And Ryan has amazing paternal instincts and has been waiting on them both hand and foot."
Naya announced she and 'Justified' star Ryan, 32, were expecting a baby in April via Instagram.
Alongside old pictures of them both as children, she wrote: "Surprise! We're having a baby! Ryan and I feel so blessed and can't wait to welcome the newest member of our family."
The brunette beauty celebrated her baby shower with Ryan and friends, including Heather Morris and Amber Riley, in August.
