Daniel Bryan retires from wrestling

Daniel Bryan has retired from wrestling after 16 years in the ring.
The former WWE champion - who held the WWE World Heavyweight Championship three times - announced the heartbreaking decision on wrestling show 'Monday Night Raw' last night (08.02.16), confirming he was hanging up his shorts because of one too many injuries.
In an emotional speech while standing in the ring at the KeyArena in Seattle, in his home state of Washington, Bryan told the stadium of screaming fans: "I've been angry, I've been sad, I've been frustrated, I've been all of that. But today when I woke up this morning, I felt nothing but gratitude.
"The truth is, I've been wrestling since I was 18 years old, and within the first five months of my wrestling career, I'd already had three concussions. For years after that, I would get a concussion here and there ... and then it gets to the point when you've been wrestling for 16 years.
"That adds up to a lot of concussions. It gets to a point where they tell you that you can't wrestle anymore.
"For a long time, I fought that, because I'd gotten EEGs and brain MRIs and neuropsychological evaluations, and all of them said this: I was fine, and I could come back and wrestle."
Bryan also admitted his future with his wife, 'Total Divas' star Brie Bella, played a big part in his decision because the couple are keen to have kids "soon".
He added: "A week and a half ago, I took a test that said maybe my brain isn't as OK as I thought it was. I have a family to think about; my wife and I want to start having kids soon.
"It is with a heavy heart and the utmost sadness that I officially announce my retirement.
"I have gotten to do what I love for nearly 16 years. I am grateful.
"Now tomorrow morning I start a new life, a life where I am no longer a wrestler.
"But that is tomorrow and that is not tonight and by damn I have one more night to feel this energy and to feel this crowd."
Referring to his famous "yes, yes yes!" chant, he added: "If I could just get one last 'Yes' chant I would really appreciate it."
The crowd duly obliged.
Prior to 'Raw' being aired, Bryan informed his 2.5 million Twitter followers that he was planning to make the announcement.
He tweeted: "Due to medical reasons, effective immediately, I am announcing my retirement. Tonight on Raw, I'll have a chance to elaborate. #gratitude (sic)"
Female wrestler Brie paid tribute to her husband and revealed his speech had made her emotional.
She tweeted: "Wow what a speech! So proud of you Bryan! N #ThankYouDanielBryan
"Anyone have some extra tissue! Haha N #ThankYouDanielBryan (sic)"
She also shared a poignant Instagram post of their hands on top of one another, and added the caption: "A new journey awaits us and for the rest of our lives we'll talk about this one. You have given so much hope and inspiration to people all over. We haven't lost you, just get to see you in a different light. #thankyoudanielbryan #mystrength #mylove (sic)"
A host of WWE stars paid tribute to Bryan, including John Cena - the boyfriend of Daniel's sister-in-law Nikki Bella - who wrote: "#ThankYouDanielBryan for DOING what most only talk about. Challenging everything. Authority, conformity, perception. Redefining valor. (sic)"
Triple H - who was involved in a long-running feud with Bryan and who lost to him at WrestleMania XXX in a match which preceded his title win against Randy Orton and Batista - remembered the star's World Championship win.
He tweeted: "One of my favorite @WrestleMania moments ever.
"Always have been and always will be an A+. #ThankYouDanielBryan (sic)"
WWE two-time Hall of Fame inductee Ric Flair wrote: "Congrats on a great run with the @WWE! You will always be held in high esteem! WOOOOO! @WWEDanielBryan (sic)"
Roman Reigns, a WWE Superstar, tweeted: "U have to work w/ the best to learn...sorry to hear the news but a pleasure sharing the ring. #ThankYouDanielBryan (sic)"

Jade Thirlwall: I’m not single

Jade Thirlwall has confirmed she has a boyfriend.
The Little Mix singer, who is rumoured to be dating The Struts bassist Jed Elliott, admitted she is in a relationship during a comical exchange on live TV in which her bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock completely forgot she was taken.
During a conversation about going out on the girl group's upcoming 'The Get Weird Tour', Jesy Nelson revealed Perrie Edwards - who split from her fiancé Zayn Malik last summer - intends to be "naughty" on the band's upcoming shows.
Speaking on breakfast show 'Good Morning Britain', the star explained: "She turned round to me today and said, 'I'm going to be naughty on this tour'."
The blonde beauty replied: "No, no you can take that the wrong way! I mean like on the last tour I'd just go straight to my bunk, go to bed and I wouldn't go out, I wouldn't party or anything, and now I'm like, 'Yeah!' "
Referring to Jade and Perrie - who were both born in South Shields, north east England - Leigh-Anne then began chanting: "Single Geordies alone together, single Geordies..."
But an embarrassed Jade was quick to interject, saying: "I'm not single!"
Leigh-Anne immediately apologised, saying: "My bad, very new, very new here. Sorry. I forgot!"
The group might not have that much energy to party on their upcoming tour as it looks set to push them to their limits.
Leigh-Anne said: "We're going to need a physio on this tour. It's going to be so full-on."

Khloe Kardashian sets up online dating profile

Khloe Kardashian has set up an online dating profile following her split from James Harden.
The reality TV star has wasted no time in looking for a new man by signing up to free site OkCupid, and she admitted it was "really fun" filling out the profile with her pal Malika Haqq.
She said: "I've never done online dating before, but just for sh**s and giggles, Malika and I decided to fill one out.
"It was actually really fun to do, LOL!"
On her profile, Khloe - who is said to have dumped basketball professional James two weeks ago - admits she is a big fan of cinnamon-flavoured sweet treats Hot Tamales and "can't get enough Italian food".
She said: "I always, always have Hot Tamales in my nightstand! I'm actually going to eat some right now."
The 31-year-old star posted details about her profile on her own website and also admitted she is easy-going and loves to spend time with her family, especially the youngsters.
She said: "Working or hanging out with my nieces and nephews: Penelope, Mason, Reign, Saint and North! Taking every day as it comes."
Other highlights of her profile include her favourite book, which she says is 'The Coldest Winter', which explores the American involvement in the 1950-53 Korean War.
She also picked out her favourite film, opting for 1989 comedy 'Troop Beverly Hills', in which 'Cheers' star Shelley Long plays a Beverly Hills housewife who takes on her daughter Hannah's (Jenny Lewis) Wilderness Girl troop to distract herself from her own divorce.
If that isn't enough to land a guy then they might be keen to know that Khloe is a big fan of watching sitcom 'Sex and the City', and listening to R&B music.
Khloe - who is still married to Lamar Odom - will no doubt be inundated with potential suitors to her profile, but just in case nobody clicked on it she drummed up some support on her Twitter account.
She tweeted: "@ForeverMalika and I filled out an @okcupid profile just for fun! Are we a match? On my app (sic)"

Danielle Lloyd’s son assessed for autism

Danielle Lloyd's son is undergoing tests for autism.
The 32-year-old model has always felt four-year-old Harry is "different" to his brothers, five-year-old Harry and George, two, so is having him assessed to see if he suffers from the lifelong developmental disability after having other possibilities ruled out.
She said: "I knew from when he was little that something wasn't quite right - it was mother's instinct.
"Now he's being tested for autism. Fingers crossed he'll be alright - I just have to keep an extra eye on him.
"Harry has been tested for so many things - including brain damage - after being born 10 weeks early.
"His MRI scans and ear tests were all clear but his balance is still not quite right and I know he's different to my other two boys.
"He's very much a loner and likes to be by himself rather than with the other two.
"He also struggles with things like getting himself dressed and playing games."
And Danielle - who has all three boys with ex-husband Jamie O'Hara - is hoping she'll be able to get Harry the help he needs.
She added in an interview with Britain's OK! magazine: "When I noticed these differences, I spoke to my health visitor, who suggested he might be on the cusp of the autistic spectrum.
"Hopefully more tests might show us other ways he can be helped if he does have a type of autism."

Lena Dunham pulls out of Girls promo

Lena Dunham is going through a "rough patch" with her health.
The 29-year-old actress has warned fans she will be unable to promote the upcoming season of 'Girls' as she is experiencing a painful flare-up of endometriosis - a condition which causes tissue to grow outside of the uterus and can lead to infertility - and has been advised to rest by her doctors.
She wrote in a letter on Facebook: "Hey Beloved Pals,
"I just wanted to let you know that, while I am so excited for 'Girls' to return on Feb 21, I won't be out and about doing press for the new season.
"As many of you know I have endometriosis, a chronic condition that affects approximately 1 in 10 women's reproductive health.
"I am currently going through a rough patch with the illness and my body (along with my amazing doctors) let me know, in no uncertain terms, that it's time to rest."
Lena is upset at missing promotion but feels "lucky" to have support from production staff and her co-stars, and knows she's in a fortunate position to be able to take time off.
She added: "That's a hard thing to do, but I'm trying, because all I want is to make season six of 'Girls' the best one yet. I'm lucky enough to have support and backup from Jenni [Konner], Judd [Apatow] and the whole Girls gang. So many women with this disease literally don't have the option of time off and I won't take it for granted.
"Wishing you all health & happiness, in whatever form suits you.
"Back soon, xxLena"

Sylvester Stallone was ready to boycott Oscars

Sylvester Stallone was ready to boycott the Oscars.
The 69-year-old star is up for Best Actor in a supporting role at the upcoming Academy Awards but told his 'Creed' director Ryan Coogler he would opt not to attend in support of the filmmaker and his co-star Michael B. Jordan, who were surprise omissions from the nominations list, if he preferred him not to go.
Discussing the #OscarsSoWhite controversy surrounding the lack of diversity in the nominations, Sylvester said: "I remember I spoke with Ryan Coogler when this [#OscarsSoWhite controversy] happened.
" I said, 'Ryan, how do you want to handle this? Because I really believe you are responsible for me being here.'
"I said, 'If you want me to go, I'll go. If you don't, I won't.'
"He said, 'No, I want you to go.' That's the kind of guy he is. He wants us to go and represent the film."
The action legend also suggested co-star Michael should have been nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
Speaking at a luncheon for nominees yesterday (08.02.16), he told reporters: "Michael Jordan, every time I looked in his eyes as an actor, I said, he was making me better. I think he should've been given a lot more respect and attention."
Following the controversy, the Academy's Board of Governors have pledged to double the number of minority and female members by 2020 and the 'Expendables' actor is hopeful the changes will make a difference.
He said: "Eventually all talent will rise to the top. It's just a matter of, I guess, a new paradigm and a new way of thinking."
The Academy Awards, hosted by Chris Rock, take place on February 28.

Louis Tomlinson splashes $5000 on son Freddie’s nursery

Louis Tomlinson spent over $5,000 on an animal-themed nursery for his son Freddie.
The One Direction hunk and former lover Briana Jungworth - gave birth to their first child January 22 -
paid a visit to the upmarket Petit Tresor boutique in West Hollywood before the tot was born and splashed out on a number of items for the youngster.
And it seems the pair knew they were expecting a boy as an insider confirmed to E! News that they purchased "adorable blue baby layette items" during their shopping spree in November.
Among Louis and Briana's purchases were a Bancroft closed crib priced at $2,995, an $89 penguin cuddly toy and a Jem + Bea diaper bag for $790.
The 'Best Song Ever' hitmaker may be hoping Freddie follows in his own musical footsteps, as he and Briana also picked up a mini red piano for $119.
The source revealed: "Their selections were quite European and sophisticated in taste."
The former couple also had a strong idea of the theme they wanted for the nursery.
The source added: "They picked out lots of items with lions on. They bought lion toys, a lion blanket, a lion onesie and a very cute lion hooded towel.
"It might be because the lion symbol is associated with Great Britain and the English soccer team. Perhaps they're making sure their baby knows about his British roots."
The 24-year-old singer - who is renting a property in Calabasas, California to be nearer to his little boy - wanted little Freddie to have everything Briana thought he should have and was "happy" to pay for it all.
The source added: "Louis was happy for Briana to have whatever she wanted and they seemed to enjoy picking out the items together. He paid for everyone on his credit card and the bill came to just over $5,000. It's not every day you get someone spending that much in a baby boutique."

Academy announces Oscars speech changes

Academy Awards acceptance speeches will feature a ticker on TV screens with a list of people stars want to thank.
The days of Oscar-winning actors and actresses forgetting to thank their significant others look set to be over as the Academy has announced new changes designed to ensure speeches are kept to 45 seconds.
Potential winners will be asked to write a list of the people they want to thank on cards prior to their triumph being announced, and if they win the monikers will be displayed on screens at the ceremony.
Show producer David Hill said: "As you probably are aware and we don't want to embarrass anybody, but there is a long list of winners who have totally forgotten their directors, their husbands, their wives, their children and their animals.
"It's a permanent record which could be kept, even framed and kept in the family forever. How cool is that!"
The announced was made at yesterday's (08.02.16) Oscars luncheon, where Academy president Cheryl Boone avoided mentioning the #OscarsSoWhite diversity controversy by name.
But she did say: "We all know there's an elephant in the room - I have asked the elephant to leave."
Several stars, including Jada Pinkett Smith and her husband Will, have vowed to boycott the ceremony on February 28 over a lack of diversity in the nominations.
But some actors have defended the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Speaking about the nominations, Dame Helen Mirren said: "It just so happened it went that way. Idris Elba absolutely would have been nominated for an Oscar [but] not enough people saw - or wanted to see - a film about child soldiers."

Ryan Reynolds planning ‘spectacular’ Valentine’s Day for wife Blake Lively

Ryan Reynolds is planning something "spectacular" for Valentine's Day.
The 'Deadpool' star may have been jetsetting across the world over the past few weeks but he insists he would never forget to treat his wife, Blake Lively, on the special day.
He told Entertainment Tonight: "I've done things where I've like flown halfway across the world to just see my wife for a day because you've got to do that."
When asked about his plans for Valentine's Day, he added: "I've been in about 15 countries in 20 days. But I will come up with something spectacular."
Meanwhile, the 39-year-old actor - who has 13-month-old daughter James with the former 'Gossip Girl' star - previously revealed he feels blessed to have such a great family.
He gushed: "I'm in a great place. I have a family and a little girl, and I honestly couldn't be happier right now. There's just no place I'd rather be, it's the ultimate trump card.
"It seems almost unbelievable that she's already a half-year old. That's why I want to make the most of this time in her life."
