Shirley Manson selling off iconic Garbage dress

Shirley Manson is selling off the iconic polka dot dress she wore in Garbage’s ‘I Think I’m Paranoid’ video to raise money for charity.

The singer has donated the costume to the Give A Frock auction – hosted by Give A F*** Los Angeles and Julien’s Auctions – to raise money to help those affected by the California wildfires which killed 29 people and destroyed thousands of homes and buildings across the state last month.

Shirley shared a picture of the video dress on Instagram and wrote: “I wore this polka dot dress – made by stylist and designer @jenniferelster – during the filming of our video for ‘I think I’m Paranoid’.

“It was shot in a studio in Los Angeles by legendary fashion photographer @matthewrolstonstudio . I have kept it in a cardboard box all these years hoping she could be of use to someone at some point. Now nearly 30 years later, she has leapt back into action.

“Bidding on this dress and other amazing pop culture items has already begun @juliens_auctions . The auction closes on February 25th. All proceeds to go to helping those affected by the LA Wildfires.

“Thank you for your support in advance. We love you Los Angeles.”

Other items up for grabs in the auction include outfits worn by Paramore singer Hayley Williams during the band’s stint as an opening act on Taylor Swift’s ‘The Eras’ tour as well as costumes seen in the band’s ‘This Is Why’ video.

Chappell Roan‘s costume from her ‘Hot To Go’ promo is also going under the hammer along with an Epiphone DG-335 signature electric guitar signed by Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.
