Shayne Ward postpones wedding

Shayne Ward is in "no rush" to get married after he postponed his wedding due to coronavirus.

The 35-year-old singer popped the question to longtime girlfriend Sophie Austin in 2017, but the pair don’t mind scrapping wedding plans until next year as they know they will be together "for life".

Speaking on ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’, he quipped: "Don’t tell Sophie. No, literally we spoke about it and that was what was nice about it.

"Everything can wait, there is no rush and we can definitely do this next year, but we’re together for life and that is the main thing, we’re together regardless."

The former ‘Coronation Street’ star – who has two-year-old daughter Willow with Sophie – proposed to Sophie on Boxing Day (26.12.17). in front of their family – but the former ‘Hollyoaks’ actress previously revealed she wasn’t dressed appropriately for the occasion.

She explained: "It happened on Boxing Day. In the past I had told Shayne that if he was ever going to propose I would love all my family to be there. We were stood in our hallway – I was wearing pyjamas and my hair was tied up with a pair of knickers!"

She has also admitted she’d rather have a nap than organise their nuptials because she feels her future husband is "much better" at planning than she is.

She said: "I’ve always wanted to get married in Vegas. If I had the choice of planning a wedding, I’d rather have a nap!

"Shayne is better at organising things than I am. As long as I can pick my dress, I’m happy to leave the rest to him. Having Willow walk down the aisle with me will just make my day."
