Shayne Ward hopes to crack Hollywood

Shayne Ward is hoping to crack Hollywood following his ‘Coronation Street’ exit.
The 33-year-old singer-and-actor has been inundated with meetings about potential roles after he bowed out of the ITV soap as Aidan Connor after his character took his own life last month, and he would consider heading Stateside for his next part.
He said: "I’m having a lot of meetings with the right people at the moment and choosing my next film project very carefully.
"Until you’ve signed a contract you can’t announce anything.
"If the right Hollywood opportunity comes calling I’ll definitely consider it."
While Shayne has left Weatherfield, he is still being contacted by ‘Corrie’ viewers who have been affected by his tragic storyline, which saw Aidan take his own life after battling his inner demons for months.
The former ‘X Factor’ winner recalled one conversation with a mother and daughter who thanked him for starring in the hard-hitting suicide plot, and then broke down in tears.
He added to The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: "People come up to me in the street all the time.
"My fiancée and I were out shopping last week in Sheffield and a mother and daughter walked past and said, ‘Thank you so much for the storyline, it has a connection to us’.
"I could see it on their face and then they both just broke down in tears.
"The mother had lost her son – who was the girl’s brother – and it was so heartbreaking.
"I get blokes coming up to me too, and shouting at me from cars, all good things."
Shayne has been linked with several roles since he departed ‘Corrie’, including linking up with the soap’s former boss Kate Oates in the second series of ‘Bancroft’, or even competing on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’, for which he has the backing of his former co-star Kym Marsh.
She recently said: "Now that Shayne Ward has left ‘Corrie’, it’s rumoured he might do ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
"He’d definitely be entertaining if he was to head to the jungle.
"Shayne would be fun and a good sport and he’d probably sing the entire time as that’s what he used to do at work all day."
