Shayne Ward bemoans pressure on actors to be in shape

Shayne Ward thinks soap stars face too much pressure to be in shape.
The 32-year-old actor – who stars as Aidan Connor on the ITV programme – has revealed he’d be loathed to take his shirt off on TV and admitted he isn’t into "that whole six-pack thing".
Shayne explained: "I’d rather stick to keeping my shirt on. It would take a lot to get me to take my kit off now."
The former pop star argued that actors are under too much pressure to present a flawless image of themselves on screen.
He told The Sun newspaper: "I think there is so much pressure to get in shape nowadays. I am just happy doing what I’m doing."
Despite this, Shayne previously revealed he once had to take a Santa suit off because he developed an allergic reaction to the material that caused him to vomit.
The actor – who first shot to fame when he won ‘The X Factor’ in 2005 – admitted that although he has never had a disastrous Christmas, he did develop an unusual reaction to the dressing up costume.
Asked if he’s ever had a Christmas disaster, he said: "No, but I once wore a Santa’s outfit from America that gave me a weird reaction.
"I had to take it off and I was throwing up."
And while Shayne has switched between singing and acting during his career, he suggested he enjoys both challenges equally.
He shared: "I like both. Singing is a huge passion of mine but acting is a completely different challenge.
"With a script, you do it once and it’s gone. It’s a different mindset and I love that."
