Shawn Mendes wants to be in a power pop relationship

Shawn Mendes thinks being in a relationship with another pop star would transform him into a superstar.
The ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ hitmaker would love to follow in the footsteps of power couples like Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris and wouldn’t say no to a romance with a fellow musician or celebrity.
He said: "Yeah I would definitely have a public relationship, why not? It wouldn’t bother me. As long as the other person is happy, then so am I."
However, the 17-year-old singer joked that he’s very picky and would prefer to date a "brunette dancer".
He quipped: "Well to be honest, I’d like a brunette dancer.
"But now I’ve just said that, I’m worried they’ll all come after me and the blondes will be annoyed!"
Shawn is particularly keen on one brunette beauty and that’s pop babe Ariana Grande, Shawn admits he would love to make music with as her voice blows him away.
Although he hasn’t been introduced to the ‘Dangerous Woman’ hitmaker he’d love to team up on a song together.
He told The Daily Star newspaper: "Ariana vocally blows me away every time I hear her. I’d love to work with her but the problem is I’ve actually not met her yet."
Shawn is currently wrapping up the recording of his second studio LP – the follow-up to his 2015 debut album ‘Handwritten’ – has teased fans that it will be a game-changer.
Asked when it will be released, he recently said: "It’s going to be soon – definitely soon. We’re just finishing it off, honestly. It’s very nearly done. I’m very excited … it’s a game-changing album. Honestly, I’ve never felt so proud of something in my life. It’s totally, for me, the experience making it in the studio this time around was life-changing."
