Shannen Doherty shaves head

Shannen Doherty has shaved her head.
The former ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ actress – who was diagnosed with breast cancer last March – documented cutting off her long locks on Instagram on Tuesday (19.07.16) evening, with her mother Rosa and friend Anne Kortright-Shilstat by her side for support.
As well as pictures of her getting her head shaved, Shannen initially posted a photo of a cupcake tin, a box of chocolates and a shaver and wrote: "Cupcake pan, chocolates and a razor…. Stay tuned. @annemkortright has got this. #cancersucks #thankgodforfriends (sic)"
Meanwhille, Anne praised her friend’s "strength and courage" as she thanked the 45-year-old star for "trusting" her with the clippers.
Alongside a photo of them together, she wrote on her own Instagram page: "I couldn’t be prouder of you today. Your strength and courage is so inspiring and I am so very lucky to have you in my life. Thank you for blindly trusting me today to help you with such a big step. I will forever be there for you no matter what. #f**kcancer (sic)"
Shannen’s diagnosis was made public in August 2015 after she filed a lawsuit against her former management and accounting firm, Tanner, Mainstain, Glynn & Johnson, who she took action against for allegedly failing to pay her SAG [Screen Actor’s Guild] medical insurance without her knowledge.
In court documents, the actress accused the firm of ignoring an invoice to pay her insurance premium in early 2014.
The ‘Charmed’ star re-enrolled in the program this year shortly before doctors discovered she has "invasive breast cancer metastatic to at least one lymph node."
Her medical team believe the cancer spread last year and would have been easier to treat if it had been detected earlier, but she failed to get a check-up at the time due to her lack of insurance.
Confirming the news at the time, Shannen vowed to remain positive.
She said: "Yes, I have breast cancer, and I am currently undergoing treatment. I am continuing to eat right, exercise and stay very positive about my life. I am thankful to my family, friends and doctors for their support and, of course, my fans who have stood by me."
