Seth Rogen’s ‘irrelevant’ #MeToo perspective

Seth Rogen believes he has the "least relevant perspective" on the #MeToo movement.
The 36-year-old actor has shared his thoughts on the recent rise in sexual harassment allegations being made against Hollywood stars and executives – which began in October last year when over 50 women accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct – but has said he doesn’t believe he should be the person to discuss the issue.
Seth is close friends with James Franco, who was accused by five women of inappropriate behaviour, and Seth says that his bond with James makes it difficult for him to speak about the #MeToo movement.
When asked about his thoughts on the movement, the ‘Superbad’ actor said: "The truth is that my perspective on this is the least relevant perspective.
"I’m friends with these people and I’m a dude. All that combined makes me the last person who should be talking about this.
"There are so many people with real things to contribute to the #MeToo discussion that anything I say is not going to add anything useful."
However, Seth did admit that he would work with 40-year-old James – who has denied the allegations made against him – again if the opportunity arose, despite many in Hollywood shunning the actor.
Asked if they would collaborate again, Seth simply said: "Yes."
Seth recently worked as a producer on comedy movie ‘Blockers’, which was helmed by first-time director Kay Cannon, and believes the project was "progressive".
Speaking to Vulture magazine, he said: "I think Blockers has an incredibly progressive message.
"[Kay] did an amazing job. We’re hyperaware of trying to be as representative as possible in the directors and writers and actors we work with. I’m sure we could definitely be doing more to be ahead of the curve in that way, but, again, I couldn’t be more aware that my perspective is not one people are clamouring for."
