Seth Rogen to star in Steve Jobs biopic

Seth Rogen is in talks to star in Sony’s Steve Jobs biopic.

The ‘Bad Neighbours’ star is in negotiations with the studio to take on the role of Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak – who created the Apple I computer and co-created the Apple II computer in the 70s – opposite ‘Batman’ actor Christian Bale as Jobs, The Wrap reports.

‘Zero Dark Thirty’ star Jessica Chastain – who is currently starring alongside Matthew McConaughey in Christopher Nolan’s ‘Interstellar’ – is also being courted for a role in the film.

‘Slumdog Millionaire’ film-maker Danny Boyle is to direct from a script by Aaron Sorkin, who used Jobs’ authorised biography by Walter Isaacson.

The film – which will reportedly not be a traditional biopic – is expected to follow Jobs during three stressful and high profile product launches throughout Apple’s history.

However, Chastain and Rogen have so far not confirmed their roles in the movie, which is to be produced by Scott Rudin, Mark Gordon and Guymon Casady.

Despite being best known for his comedy work, Rogen proved he is also suited to drama with his roles in ‘Take This Waltz’ and ’50/50′.

And his pairing with Bale is being compared to that of Leonardo DiCaprio and ‘Superbad’ funnyman Jonah Hill in Martin Scorsese’s ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, which resulted in the latter receiving his second Oscar nomination.

Meanwhile, Rogen will next appear alongside James Franco in ‘The Interview’ followed by Sony’s ‘Untitled Christmas Eve Project’.
