Selena Gomez is ‘overwhelmed’ by 13 Reasons Why outcome

Selena Gomez is "overwhelmed with pride and joy" with the outcome of ’13 Reasons Why’.
The 24-year-old singer decided to turn the novel penned by Jay Asher into a miniseries on Netflix, and the powerhouse – who is the executive producer of the Netflix programme – feels "lucky" she was able to bring the book to life with her television adaptation.
Alongside a picture of the brunette beauty surrounded by the cast and creative team watching the pilot episode ahead of its official airing date on Friday (31.03.17), which she posted on her personal Instagram account, she wrote: "Our show @13reasonswhy came out tonight and I couldn’t be more overwhelmed with pride and joy.
"Jay Asher wrote a beautifully tragic, compelling story and we were lucky to have brought it to life. (sic)."
And the ‘Kill ‘Em With Kindness’ hitmaker believes having read the text and turning it into a visual production almost 10 years later allows her to convey a more poignant "message" to her audience.
She continued: "After 7 years of holding onto this book, I couldn’t of picked a better time for this message to exist. (sic)."
Selena – who is currently dating 27-year-old musician The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye – has thanked "every single soul" who assisted her during the creative process for putting their "heart" into her "passion project".
She added: "Thank you to every single soul that put their heart into this passion project (sic)."
Although the ‘Spring Breakers’ actress is pleased with the final outcome of the 13-part series, she was "nervous as hell" about discussing her plans for it with the broadcasting network.
Speaking previously, she said: "This was the day I was nervous as hell going into @Netflix for the first time to talk about @13reasonswhy (sic)."
But if it wasn’t for Selena’s mother, Mandy Teefay, and Jay she would never have attended the meeting or gone ahead with her latest venture.
She continued: "My mom found this book in 2009 and worked her ass off to make it with me, guide me and tell this story authentically (the only reason, beside Jay this project was even made) (sic)."
