Maggie Gyllenhaal is a secret smoker.
‘The Dark Knight’ star – who has daughters Ramona, eight, and Gloria, two, with husband Peter Sarsgaard – refuses to "sneak" around her family in order to indulge in her habit but admitted she does occasionally "fall off the wagon".
Maggie told Stylist magazine: "I don’t smoke cigarettes officially but now and then I fall off the wagon. I can’t keep it up at home. I can’t smoke as a mother – it’s too much sneaking around.
"I’m buying cigarettes and I’m like, ‘What am I doing? Pull it together!’
In addition to battling her vice , the 36-year-old actress – who is currently starring in the TV drama ‘The Honourable Woman’ – is struggling to find time to herself and is forced to sacrifice reading and exercise to spend time with her family in between her busy filming schedule.
She explained to Stylist magazine: "When I’m shooting and learning lines for the next day, and bathing and feeding my kids and putting them to bed, reading is out of the question. Exercise goes out of the window as well. I can’t be a mother, work and exercise."
