Sarah-Jane Crawford has revealed her daughter’s name is Summer.
The 37-year-old star and her football manager boyfriend Brian Barry-Murphy welcomed their baby girl into the world earlier this month, and she has explained the inspiration behind the moniker after she suffered a miscarriage last year.
She told HELLO! magazine: "Summer’s name is a reference to having sunshine after going through darker times.
"It has been a journey of finally reaching this optimistic season of everything coming into bloom."
The former ‘Xtra Factor’ star – who gave birth on August 3 – revealed she and her daughter had an instant connection.
She said: "I cried tears of joy. It felt like we bonded with her straight away."
Sarah-Jane recently admitted welcoming Summer into the world felt "miraculous" after her heartbreak last year.
She explained: "After experiencing a loss last year, finally bringing a life into this world was the most incredible moment ever.
"It felt so miraculous and Brian and I are over the moon."
The couple announced in May they were "over the moon" to be expecting their first child together.
She said: "We are both over the moon. We found out just before Christmas. It was an incredible present.
"I’ve noticed my body is changing with the seasons.
"When summer comes it will be the blossoming of everything. It’s an amazing journey."
Brian, 41 – who manages Rochdale FC – is already a dad to an eight-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
Sarah-Jane – who was adopted when she was two months old, and whose mother later remarried following the death of her father – thinks it’s "special" to have a blended family.
She said: "Blending a family is a special thing. I’ve come from a blended family too.
"Brian is very excited to be a dad all over again.
"He loves being a dad and he knew [being a parent] is something I really wanted, too. It’s a new chapter in our relationship."
