Sarah Beeny lands new show

Sarah Beeny has landed a new show about quitting city life for the countryside.

The 48-year-old TV presenter – who has children Rafferty, Laurie, Charlie and Billy with husband Graham Swift – decided to pack up her family life in London after buying a former dairy farm in Somerset, where they plan to build their dream house for upcoming Channel 4 programme ‘Sarah Beeny’s New Life In The Country’.

The couple recently bought the 200-acre farmland in hopes of building a carbon neutral mini stately home with plans to landscape the grounds for her children to grow up in the countryside.

She said in a statement: "I think I’ve always quite enjoyed the buzz from change and mountainous challenges and moving our whole family lock stock and barrel from city to country and re-inventing our whole life has certainly been that.

"I am so aware of how lucky we are to be able to do something like this, but it’s been a life changing experience. But ultimately I do believe you only live once and if you can make a dream real you should try and journey down that path if you can."

The eight-part series will follow the former the ‘Property Ladder’ star and her family as they begin work on their new land, as they wait for planning permission, before they start creating their dream property.

Alongside the project, Sarah wants to introduce her children to country life.

Kate Thomas, Commissioning Editor for Channel 4, added: "This sunny, escapist and hugely feel-good series taps directly into the daydreams that are, now more than ever, keeping us all going. A longing for a simpler, slower way of life. Closer contact with family, and a more meaningful relationship with nature.

"These things have a real resonance right now, and as Sarah and her family guide us through their own journey (which has a few daunting challenges along the way!) I hope that our audience will feel both comforted and inspired."
