Samia Longchambon ‘breaks down’ when she sees footage of dead dog

Samia Longchambon "breaks down in tears" when she watches old videos of her dead dog.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress – who plays Maria Connor in the long-running soap – was left devastated last year when her beloved pet pooch Sonny passed away and she has admitted it’s still a sensitive subject for her and she can’t help but well up when she sees clips of him alive.
She explained: "It was a funny old year, really, he was like my baby. I’d had him since I was 23. He went through the highs and lows of the past 11 years with me.
"He was the one little constant in my life and I always had Sonny by my side. Apart from losing my dad, it’s one of the hardest things I’ve had to go through. It was heartbreaking."
Samia’s husband Sylvain Longchambon added: "He was one of the family and slept on Sam’s pillow every night."
The brunette beauty said: "If we watch videos of him now, we still break down in tears. He was amazing with the kids. We have his picture up in the lounge so we see him every day."
And, although they’re not thinking about getting another dog at the moment, the couple – who got married in 2016 – aren’t planning to add any more children to their brood, currently comprised of Freya, seven, and Yves, two, and will get another furry friend before having another baby.
Samia, 35, said: "We’re happy with our lot. We definitely don’t want to be outnumbered."
Sylvain, 37, added to OK! magazine: "We’ll have another dog before we have another kid – and that’s not even on the cards."
