Sam Smith pens song for Matt Terry

Sam Smith has penned a song for Matt Terry.
The ‘Stay With Me’ hitmaker has paid the 23-year-old singer – whose debut single ‘When Christmas Comes Around’ was written by Ed Sheeran – back after he turned down doing a duet with him on ‘The X Factor’ last year by sending him some lyrics to record.
Matt – who performed Sam’s smash hit Bond theme ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ on the ITV talent show – told the Daily Star newspaper: "When I did his song it was an amazing moment. So to record a song written by him now is so exciting."
The dark-haired hunk previously revealed how he’d been receiving some advice from the 24-year-old pop star.
He shared: "What are the chances? It’s just crazy. I had a bunch of questions to ask him about his career. It was pretty cool. He’s an artist I’ve listened to since he started and I think his career is just insane.
"He told me he’d heard me sing ‘I’ll Be There’, which he thought sounded good. He said to me to just keep doing what I’m doing."
As far Matt’s album, he will reportedly release his music through Sony label RCA, rather than music mogul Simon Cowell’s own Sony subsidiary, Syco – which looks after the likes of previous contestants Little Mix and James Arthur – as music executives think he could be the next Olly Murs.
A source previously said: "Simon and Sony have had a think and believe that Matt is very much an artist in the mould of Olly Murs.
"And to that end, they both believe he should be a label mate of Olly’s on RCA."
