Rylan Clark-Neal to scale back workload?

Rylan Clark-Neal has hinted he may scale back his workload.

The 31-year-old TV presenter has taken on several TV shows over the last two years, and is now worried viewers might think they can’t get rid of him.

He told The Sun newspaper: "I would like just to have my couple of bits to see me through the year all spaced out and that’s that. But in the last two years the jobs I’ve done have all been announced around the same time.

"I don’t want to be like chlamydia. I don’t want to be all over the f****** shop and everywhere, that’s definitely not what I want."

After rising to fame on ‘The X Factor’ in 2012, Rylan has co-hosted ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ spin-off ‘It Takes Two’ and his own BBC Radio 2 show.

The former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ champ enjoys working on shows that "marry up", such as ‘Supermarket Sweep’ and ‘Ready Steady Cook’.

He said: "In my nice little world I could have ‘Supermarket Sweep’ and ‘Ready Steady Cook’. They’re at different times of the year.

"I like things that marry up, and ‘Sweep’ sort of works with ‘Ready Steady Cook’ because I’ve got my supermarket and then I’ve got my kitchen."

The BBC recently confirmed ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ will take place this year but with a shorter run than usual due to the coronavirus pandemic, and Rylan is convinced it will still be "good" otherwise it wouldn’t be taking place.

He explained: "It’s changing by the day and I’m very low down in the order. But from what I’ve heard, one minute they’re all living together, next minute they don’t need to. You know the BBC would not put their biggest show on TV on air if they can’t make it good.

"I’m confident they will protect the brand. There’s no way in a million years they would let it go ahead if it wasn’t going to be what everyone wants it to be. There might be small changes but I’m 100 per cent sure ‘Strictly’ will not go on air if they can’t do a good job of it. It would be silly."
