Rylan Clark-Neal allegedly receives homophobic abuse on the street

Rylan Clark-Neal has hit out after allegedly receiving homophobic abuse in the street.
The 30-year-old television presenter – who has been married to Dan Neal since 2015 – took to Twitter on Thursday (10.01.19) to claim he had been the subject of homophobic comments whilst out in London, and got his revenge by mocking the way the alleged abuser ran away.
He wrote: "To the p***k on Great Portland Street that just shouted "F**k Off You F****t" at me. When I shouted you what at you and you run away…. you run like phoebe in friends… (sic)"
And several hours later, he tweeted again to thank his fans for their supportive messages, and reminded them to ignore people who make such comments.
He said: "Didn’t expect that tweet to blow up. Thanks for all ur nice messages. I’m totally good tho. Sad but these things still do happen but just remember… Unless they paying your bills, pay them b***es no mind. Cheers u lot xx (sic)"
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Rylan has encountered homophobia, as when he was covering the Eurovision Song Contest in May 2018, he did a TV interview which was later axed by one of the entering countries.
He said at the time: "I did Eurovision a few weeks back and to be fair, you can’t get a gayer show than Eurovision.
"But I did one interview out there with a country, I won’t say which country it was, and the BBC had a phone call from that channel that the interview was for, saying ‘We’re not going to use that interview because we thought it was too provocative’, or something like that.
"I thought, ‘How could I have been provocative?’ So what they did, the BBC looked at it back, we had a representative there looking back at it as well, and all I will say is there is an issue which happened in that country in Eurovision and I very much sensed why they didn’t want that interview to go out.
"We believe, I believe, and I have to say it’s my words only, but it was because of my sexuality; because they knew I was gay."
