Ryan Gosling: Blade Runner was perfect

Ryan Gosling thinks the original ‘Blade Runner’ was the "perfect" movie.
The Canadian-born actor stars alongside Harrison Ford in the eagerly-awaited sequel, but has confessed that they have much to live up to, given how good the 1982 original was.
He confessed: "As a fan of the movie, I was excited to know that Ridley Scott and Harrison wanted to extend that story; they felt there was more to tell."
While Gosling is excited about the new project, he does not pretend to hide his admiration of the original, which is widely recognised as one of the most influential sci-fi movies of all time.
He reflected: "I think the original is an incredible piece of art, and on every level: stylistically, from a story standpoint, from the performances… Also, there’s a melancholy nature to it that I think is in all great science fiction.
"It’s the perfect film, and it obviously had a huge impact on a lot of cinema. It also had a lot of influence on all of us who are working on it now. This is going to be great."
The new movie features appearances from Robin Wright, Dave Bautista and Sylvia Hoeks, whose roles are still to be revealed. But Gosling admitted he relished working with his fellow cast members.
He told SciFiNow magazine: "It think it’s interesting that Denis Villeneuve is directing and that [cinematographer] Roger Deakins is shooting it. I’m a fan of everybody involved, so it’s incredibly exciting."
