Ruth Langsford defends ‘bully’ Saira Khan

Ruth Langsford has jumped to Saira Khan’s defence after James Jordan branded her the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ bully.
The 56-year-old presenter – who works with the brunette star on the controversial panel show ‘Loose Women’ occasionally – has praised her friend on her "dignified" approach after the professional dancer slammed her for targeting the young housemates on the reality TV show.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ on Wednesday, Ruth said:
"Obviously, I like Saira and I work with her on ‘Loose Women’ but I can understand why people think the way she is could be irritating but actually they helped her because the minute Marnie [Simpson] [flashed her boobs in her face earlier this week], the sympathy shifted. Saira was very dignified and I really respect her for that."
However, James – who appeared on the Channel 5 series in 2014 – thinks Saira picks on people in a tactful way.
He explained: "I think Saira herself isn’t one to talk because she’s very condescending the way she speaks. I think she’s come across pretty nasty. Just the way she speaks to people, she’s condescending."
But, although he’s not keen on the ITV panellist, James did think Marnie’s boob flash, which was a dare by Stephen Bear and Lewis Bloor, was "unnecessary earlier this week.
He said: "I don’t like Saira, however, Marnie took it a step too far. It was unnecessary but can you call it bullying? No. Bullying, that word is thrown around. Bullying is a continuous taunt of someone."
