Russell Howard launching new topical show

Russell Howard is launching a new Sky One show called ‘Home Time’ amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Shot in his childhood bedroom, the topical series – which will also air on Now TV – will focus on current events as the 40-year-old comedian chats to other stars and shines the spotlight on everyday heroes doing their bit during the health crisis.
He said: "Like you I’m stuck at home going slowly mad.
"So, I’m doing a new show where I’ll be trying to spread some joy in these strange times, chatting to some famous faces and unsung heroes. But crucially not touching ANY of them."
Starting on April 9, the show will air on Tuesdays at 10pm and Thursdays at 10.30pm, with nine episodes commissioned.
Russell will look to focus on the heart warming stories in such an uncertain time.
Philip Edgar-Jones – Head of Entertainment at Sky – added: "We’re living in the strangest and anxious of moments, in a world where we communicate with our friends and families solely via online platforms; where crossing the road to avoid people is considered polite and where we’d gladly grass up our neighbours for sitting on a park bench. So, who better to unpick the oddness with his unique take on the world than Russell Howard."
The announcement comes after Russell recently had to cancel plans for his upcoming world tour.
He said in a statement: "I’m sorry to say that some of my world tour gigs have been postponed due to the Coronavirus.
"The good news is that we’ve been able to reschedule my European dates to Spring 2021.
"I know this is quite far away but we wanted to make sure that I can visit all locations and nobody was left out."
